Very thoughtful posts on your site about Nagin and the lost senate seat.
We have seen it in a lot of races through out the country. Politicians keeping people poor so they can get their vote.
Keep people down, so you have a job. Many politicians do that, and it is a pile of crap. Politicians are paid to help this country and put it's people first.

Basically, Jim, Mary Landrieu needs control of NO:A in order to get elected. She's one of their two Senators. Nagin won, not Mary's brother, so things won't happen in her favor in NOLA. It's a little more complex and such, and you have to live close enough to hear about Louisiana politics regularly to hear the entire story.
(I live on the coast of Mississippi, so New Orleans politics aren't that foreign to me -- all the talk radio stations I listen to originate in NOLA.)

The really interesting hint was how.
"The DNC teams actively worked to defeat Nagin under the auspice of the committee's voting rights program."
What exactly does that mean? Whose rights needed supporting? Did they pull support for busing in displaced voters? Did they challenge white voters?
