I was thinking the same thing too, however, delivery of the news has changed.

For example I believe Hastings and Murtha would have been in leadership positions but the alternative media brought attention to them. The fake AP stories finally made it to some MSM outlets because of the buzz on the blogs. Etc, etc, etc......
