That's how Greg Tinti describes Wolf Blitzer's interview with Vice President Cheney when he asked the vice president about his daughter's pregnancy. Cheney's response is nothing but a death stare.
Wolf ends with, "we just want to congratulate you on having another grandchild." *Gulp*
I love how Cheney stares down Blitzer until he left a stammering blob of jello.

blackcat, you need your head examined. Is this what you consider grace?
Wolf: "Some critics say this isn't best for the child."
blackcats's expected response: "Thank you."
Why doesn't Wolf ask that of every parent or grandparent of a child with only one parent?
Wolf: "Jesse Jackson, some critics say this isn't best for your child to be living with one parent. How do you respond to that?"

To be honest, I think it's at least a somewhat fair line of inquiry, but Blitzer's going about it the wrong way. The way to do this sort of thing is to get one of the people criticizing Cheney's daughter on the air at the same time as the veep, and then challenge that person to repeat his criticisms to Cheney's face ... or at least via satellite.

An interesting question: Were Dobson's comments out-of-line? Well, considering that Dobson heads a Christian organization, and that his comments and thoughts as expressed in the quote and in the column are perfectly in-line with that group's beliefs, I think the answer is a definitive "no."
Dobson went to great lengths in the above linked column to express that he had no intention to politicize the issue, that the situation was against the moral standard that he and his group represent, no more, no less.
Blitzer, in the context of a political interview, brought out the quote in order to "expose" Cheney as a hypocrite, a hatemonger, or both. This intent makes a couple bold presuppositions, first that Cheney himself "toes the line" on every social issue with Dobson's organization, and secondly that Cheney is incapable of loving his daughter while not offering wholesale approval of her lifestyle choices.
Both of the above presuppositions aren't unique to the liberal mindset. The first stems from the liberal stereotype of Christians as ignorant and hateful, and that every Christian holds exactly the same set of beliefs. The second arises from the liberals' lack of belief in the possibility to disagree with an individual's actions or beliefs without actually harboring any animosity towards that person.

George: As a libertarian liberal, I don't believe that Mary Cheney's choice of a spouse is any of my business. Personally, what I'm the most sick of, however, is the media's ongoing insistence on pushing hot buttons all the time. Mary Cheney and her partner seem to have a successful relationship and according to every reasonable standard, it's a GOOD thing to bring kids into a family so long as the people involved do so by choice, and are capable of raising the child properly. So when Blitzer decided to poke Cheney with a rhetorical sharp stick, he was WRONG. That's sensationalism, not journalism.
But then rather than taking the high road, Dick Cheney decided to be Mr. Bad and act all insulted by the question. Hey, when you are an elected public official who has chosen to raise this issue as often as he has, it becomes
