One person's negativity is another's reality. If it's a Kleenex moment you're shooting for, how about clips of mommy telling the kids daddy will never be coming home? Because really that's the kind of moment most "negative" posters here would like to eliminate by disentangling US from the sorry mess we've created over there.

Some people just can't stand it that other people think that the hard things are worth doing.

Some people just can't stand the notion of honor or valor or sacrifice or the fact that other people might think those things are valuable and admire and respect those who do what is hard, what is emotionally draining, what is frightening or dangerous.

Me? I'm just glad that the little boy wasn't afraid of his father on television. It's tough with very small kids. They don't always recognize Daddy or Mommy when they get home again. It can tear your heart out.

Still, none of that makes me any less proud of those who go, and doubly proud of those who wait for them to get home.

The good stuff would be to plant a brand new ball bat just under the nose of those to slime balls called no'go' & grouch.

A great story. It was good to see the joyous reunion. But there was someting else in the story beside the tears of joy. All of the boy's classmates wrote letters and sent care packages. It shows a great deal of community support for the sailor and his family.

All of our Armed Forces need to be shown the same support.

It's not that it's a hard thing, it's a wrong thing and that's what makes the loss or destruction of life so much more painful. I have contributed to groups collecting items to send to the soldiers over there. I have spoken with those who have survived and returned home and, honestly, their feelings are decidedly mixed, some supportive of the mission, others discouraged. Unlike Kim, I have lost no one in this war and I think not one more life need be lost in this colossal foreign policy blunder.

Sacrifice is worthy if the cause is just. I've seen nothing in the last four years that makes me think this is one justifies the loss of 3200+ lives and the disruption of countless thousands more. I support and respect our men and women in uniform and sympathize deeply with those who have suffered loss. It's the people with their hands on the controls I have an issue with. And no, those positions are not mutually exclusive.
