Weekend Caption Contest™ Winners

This week’s Weekend Caption Contest™ featured a cute photo that was very popular with the captioning audience. You never know what you’ll get with cute animal photos, but overall the captions were very good. The assignment this weekend was to caption the following picture:

Here are the winning entries:

1) (Jeff Blogworthy) – (AP) – “Squirrels ask for 25 billion nut bailout.

2) (Tim) – “Try and burn this one, hippies – I’ll bite your nuts off.

3) (Eric) – “Another ACORN voter for Al Franken comes forward to claim that he was disenfranchised.

4) (IowaRight) – “Since the election have you noticed that the Sun is shining brighter, the birds are singing more beautifully, the woodland creatures are marching around with flags…

5) (Jon) – “Wait, those nuts I collected? I have to give them to who? What the hell is “redistribution of nuts”? I’m a friggin squirrel, but even I don’t understand how that makes sense…

6) (Mac Lorry) – “Obama’s pick for head of the EPA; a true tree hugger.

The Readers Choice Award this week was a tie between Jeff Blogworthy’s winning entry and Eric’s third place comment. In its place I offer another excellent caption you might have missed:

(Pretzel Logic) – “Al Franken posses for his US Senate portrait.

That’s it for this weekend. A new edition of the Wizbang Weekend Caption Contest™ will debut Friday morning.
