I am serious, and don’t call me Shirley

Am I crazy or is the Obama administration being scripted by Zucker, Abrahams, Zucker?  This is why you can’t trust any politician who doesn’t include Airplane! on their list of favorite movies.  Because when you don’t instantly recognize the inanity of an idea straight out of Airplane! the hacktastic snark just writes itself.

Wanted: Ebonics Translator for Federal DEA Job

Aug. 23 ,2010

The U.S. Department of Justice is looking for fluent Ebonics speakers to fill nine drug enforcement jobs, giving merit to a dialect that experts say is often mimicked and little understood.

Lots more jive masquerading as serious analysis in the whole thing.

Yeah, I know.  This is a lazy post and I’m racist.

Jay Tea adds: When I first saw this posting, I feared that our good Baron had fallen victim to a hoax — especially since he didn’t include a link to the original article. However, it was worse than I feared — it is no hoax.

Sometimes I think that with stories like this, that the zombie apocalypse can not get here soon enough.

  • Tanuki Man

What I learned from watching “Judge Judy” is that everyone fluent in Ebonics starts every sentence by saying, “Well, basically….”

A bullshit article. They’re not “giving merit to a dialect.” These jobs are probably to listen to comm intercepts.  They need people who instantly understand what’s being said. The DEA have to deal with the world as it is, not your own idea how it should be.

No different than any other language or dialect.

This is the War on Drugs in action.

    • I agree. They need people who can understand an intentionally subversive street language or code. To call it Ebonics is itself a bit racist. It is like saying that only blacks deal drugs and circumvent the law.

As long as it is recognized that those who actually espouse the “teaching” of “Ebonics” in schools are promoting a criminal subculture. It cuts both ways.

      Can it Chico.

Remember to vote for Obama next year.  He is counting on it.

      • Anonymous

Of course, you meant to say – He “be” countin on it.

Chico nailed it. (He does that every now and then.) This is a stupid way to deal with a stupid problem.

However, “if it’s stupid but it works, it ain’t stupid.”

      J.

If the libs (like Chico)  hadnt tried to carry on this “dialect”, teach it in schools instead of say ENGLISH, and in short encourage its use in the name of diversity than it is doubtful anyone would be speaking this crap today.   Nothing like forcing moronic speech  on a whole generation.

“Am I crazy or is the Obama administration being scripted by Zucker, Abrahams, Zucker”

Is that the last names for larry moe and curly?  If so than the answer is yes.

Maybe these guys can tell me why the Home Depot clerk laughed when I said I wanted a hoe to weed my garden.

Is it true that Chico and Jaytea have never been photographed together?

  • This is just a ploy to create jobs for blacks with no other qualification than ghetto experience. Good paycheck for a show up job though with this administration they may do little of that. They might put those two thugs that intimidated people at the polls  in PA.
