I’m not sure whether PETA approves or disapproves

CNS:

CryingHorseThe Senate on Thursday evening voted 93-7 to approve a defense authorization bill that includes a provision which not only repeals the military law on sodomy, it also repeals the military ban on sex with animals–or bestiality.

Family Research Council President Tony Perkins said the effort to remove sodomy from military law stems from liberal Senate Democrats’ and President Obama’s support for removing the military’s Don’t Ask Don’t Tell policy.

“It’s all about using the military to advance this administration’s radical social agenda,” Perkins told CNSNews.com. “Not only did they overturn Don’t Ask Don’t Tell, but they had another problem, and that is, under military law sodomy is illegal, just as adultery is illegal, so they had to remove that prohibition against sodomy.”

Perkins said removing the bestiality provision may have been intentional–or just “collateral damage”

“Well, whether it was inadvertent or not, they have also taken out the provision against bestiality,” he said. “So now, under the Uniform Code of Military Justice (UCMJ), there’s nothing there to prosecute bestiality.”

Are you insinuating that bestiality is that serious a problem in the military, that there has to be a specific law against it?

There are enough catch-all parts in the UCMJ to get someone who did something like that.

I dont know if there are specific laws in the UCMJ on this but I know that Barney Frank is really happy about this decision. Nancy Pelosi probably is too.

It’s probably not that big a problem since you mustered out.

How does Nan Fran rate 2 mug shots in one day?  lol

I don’t think there’s a bestiality problem in the Armed Forces, anywhere.
Then again, Mr. Pelosi is skating on thin ice.

Maybe our troops in Afghanistan will blend in with the population better if they can also bugger goats like the locals do.

Being how sodomy includes oral genital contact (as well as any anal contact) that pretty much legalizes what many military married heterosexuals have been doing for some time.

As far as the bestiality goes, one could make a politically incorrect joke or two about certain “animals” who are members of the military, or their spouses, but I prefer to agree with Chico that there’s plenty of moral turpitude statutes in the UCMJ to cover anything PETA might object to.
