    My interpretation/translation:

    The torpedo finds the morally bankrupt hull of the intrepid vessel PC Progressive…Boom!  

    She’s taken but a single blow amidships, and now her back is broken… Doom!

    Captain Obumble cries, “I’m Sorry…”  and then, “Abandon Ship; Save Yourselves.”

    Epilogue:  When it comes to victory, apologizing will not achieve it… 

    And so:  Never… never… fight a War you have no intention of winning.

       Oh I think some did have the intention of winning but I think they lacked sufficient resolve to actually win.

        However, our current Commander-in-Chief came into office without any military leadership or warrior experience… and it shows.

    There was a “surge” in Afghanistan but it was mostly superficial.  No real lasting progress has been achieved because it was predetermined no further risks were to be undertaken. 

    From the reports I’ve seen from local-level troops, if this is all we plan to do, we are wasting blood and treasure for no further benefit or goal.

      What “further risks” are you willing to put others in?

      I say GTFO and leave them to their Iron Age boy-love and corruption. Leave Karzai to his fate without the protection of the foreign occupiers he denounces all the time.
