Datechguy: Ride Right Through them, they’re demoralized as Hell!

In which Datechguy posits that Obama and his campaign are in a panic.

A little LBJ and a Lot of Panic for Obama

By Datechguy

There is one item on his list that doesn’t just suggest panic, it screams it.

One might argue that Black American’s might not be as motivated as they were in 2008. After all Obama’s re-election would not be nearly as historic as his initial election but even so the launching of African American’s for Obama sends a very interesting signal.

If the black vote was historically more evenly divided then forming such a group might seem prudent, but Democrats routinely take nearly 90% or more of the black vote. If This president feels the need to form an “African Americans for Obama” it is pretty telling.

[Skipping the math, see original article for that]

Yet given these figures the Obama administration finds the need to invest time and money in a “African-Americans for Obama” organization where the return potential return is from such a venture is miniscule statistically. That suggests one or both of the following:

1. Press reports about the weakness of the current GOP field not withstanding the Obama administration understands the GOP is united in their dislike of his policies and their base, which was largely absent from John McCain’s corner is highly motivated to turn out decreasing the overall impact of the black vote.

2. The rumors of dissatisfaction of the black community with president Obama are not rumors but fact and even the prudent estimates I have given overstates his popularity among African-Americans requiring immediate action to motivate the uninspired and pressure the wavering to make sure Black turnout doesn’t drop.

This means that for all the propaganda driven by the left the Obama administration knows it is in deep trouble and needs every vote it can persuade, browbeat, buy or steal to keep it in office after Jan 20th 2013.

By all means go have a look at Datechguy’s numbers, then note that I’ve seen polls showing Obama’s approval amongst blacks as low as 85%.

I agree with Datechguy that the SCoaMF is in deep electoral trouble and is starting to panic.

Interesting that you see the welcoming and inclusion of black Americans into the Obama campaign as some ominous signal of doom or despair for Obama.

All he’s doing in including Black Americans into his campaign with the launching of “African American’s for Obama”.

Aren’t the Republicans as diverse and inclusive of ALL Americans, regardless of their race?

    They aren’t? Why not?

    • GarandFan

Yeah, conservatives welcome everyone AND DON’T ASK ABOUT THEIR RACE.

Liberals, like yourself, have to enumerate every race to prove how inclusive they are.  Sort of like Communist countries always including the word “Democratic” in their national title.

        Don’t ask don’t care.

        Riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight.

That’s why all the racist Obama “jokes” and cartoons that I get emailed come from conservatives – the conservatives just can’t see the racism in them. They just think the pictures are cute.

        [end sarcasm]

Seriously. You have to at least admit that more anti-African American racists are conservative than liberal.

Note very carefully what I’m saying: not all or even most conservatives are racist. But most or nearly all anti-minority racists consider themselves conservatives.

        • http://wizbangblog.com/author/rodney-graves/ Rodney G. Graves

          Fascinating.

I’m about as conservative as one gets and I don’t get sent such “jokes” and “cartoons.”  Perhaps your correspondents know you better than you think.

You might try that sometime. Instead of assuming those you disagree with must be lying to you. A phenomenon much closer to true projection, by the way.

      • jim_m

Because dems deliberately targeting the black vote is called being inclusive, but if a black comes out for a conservative he is an Uncle Tom and if the GOP tries to reach out for the black vote they are just covering for their inherant racism.

The whole history of the GOP has been covering for its racism. That’s why they were founded on an abolitionsit platform.  That’s why they ran Lincoln and precipitated the civil war.  That’s why they voted in greater percentages for the Civil Rights Act.  It’s all a cover for their racism.

Meanwhile the dems don’t have to cover for their racism because we know that they all stand for equal rights.  So that knowledge of how inclusive the dems are left them free to filibuster the civil rights act and let them stand against desegregation.  In fact, all the overtly racist acts of the dems only prove how inclusive and nonracist they are.

Well, it makes sense to the left at any rate.

I suggest you look at what the Bush policies did to the African American community. Then you might have a clearer picture of what “horrendous” looks like, from the AA perspective.

        • http://wizbangblog.com/author/rodney-graves/ Rodney G. Graves

Your allegation, your case to make.

          Show evidence or retract.

          • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_425GVKQCLFZMQYYENR7CJBRDVA jb

            Ok. About to.

Once I show this evidence, will you agree to acknowledge that I’ve proven my point?

          • http://wizbangblog.com/author/rodney-graves/ Rodney G. Graves

Only if it actually proves your allegation.

          • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_425GVKQCLFZMQYYENR7CJBRDVA jb

OK, great. : ) Just wanted to have that clear.

So my allegation is, GW Bush’s policies were very destructive to the African American community. Here’s why I say  that.

            1. Here’s a good overview of bush’s effect on the entire economy:

            http://www.tax.com/taxcom/taxblog.nsf/Permalink/CHAS-89LPZ9

“So how did the tax cuts work out? My analysis of the new data, with all figures in 2008 dollars:
Total income was $2.74 trillion less during the eight Bush years than if incomes had stayed at 2000 levels.”

So the tax cuts provably did squat for the economy. (AND also added to our deficit with no benefit, if that matters to you).

Note that this is true even if you skip the first year of Bush’s admin as “all Clinton’s fault”.

“…Just measuring the second through seventh years we find that
total income was still nearly $2 trillion lower than if 2000 level
income continued. Stacking the deck in President George W. Bush’s favor
does not change the awful performance or even soften it much.

The tax cuts cost $1.8 trillion in the first eight years,
according to an analysis by the Tax Policy Center, whose reliability the
last administration went out of its way to praise.

            2. Here’s a good look at GWB’s policies as they African American affected households, specifically:

            http://www.epi.org/publication/webfeatures_econindicators_income_20080826/

Note the chart in figure 3. White salaries did badly enough from 2001-2007 – they froze in relation to inflation. But African American households were hit worse than all other ethnicities – their income actually **dropped** %5.

So there you have it. Now, please acknowledge I’ve proved my point, or show where specifically you think my cited facts are wrong.

            That’s all I ask.

          • http://wizbangblog.com/author/rodney-graves/ Rodney G. Graves

Both sites only deal with pre-tax income, not after tax take home, in which the bottom two quintiles essentially pay no tax.

          • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_425GVKQCLFZMQYYENR7CJBRDVA jb

             And?

Less money coming in means less money. If you make $10,000 in one year and $9,000 in the next year, you’re doing worse whether or not you’re paying taxes also.

          • http://wizbangblog.com/author/rodney-graves/ Rodney G. Graves

If a family making $28,000 pays no Federal Income Tax, do they have more or less money than a family making $30,000 who are paying 8%?

          • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_425GVKQCLFZMQYYENR7CJBRDVA jb

Probably more. But what’s that  got to do with those who were making $34k and now are making $31k – or those who were making $27k and now are making $20K?

That small amount “benefiting” from suddenly being so broke they don’t pay taxes, is easily and clearly outnumbered by those on either side of the cutoff.

          • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_425GVKQCLFZMQYYENR7CJBRDVA jb

So as shown below, I made my point. You produced a minor criticism of one hypothetical aspect of it, that *some* African American households on the edge of the poverty threshold might benefit taxwise by being under it – which I then countered by showing this did not alter the reality for the far greater majority on either side of the poverty cut off.

Are you ready to acknowledge that I’ve proven my point?

          • http://wizbangblog.com/author/rodney-graves/ Rodney G. Graves

You introduced evidence sufficient to avoid your needing to retract and far short of proof.

          • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_425GVKQCLFZMQYYENR7CJBRDVA jb

OK. What evidence would you need to see, in order to accept this point?

          • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_425GVKQCLFZMQYYENR7CJBRDVA jb

No answer leads me to believe that you would accept NO evidence; you would rather be wrong than admit you’re wrong.

That’s your right, so be it. But any time you actually want to explore this issue where you’re willing to admit you’re wrong, just let me know what evidence you would accept.

    • Gmacr1

Its amazing that he even *has* to do that wouldn’t you say?
Last election blacks voted as solid a demographic voting block for him (95%) as I’ve ever seen a specific demographic vote for anyone.

You could in fact say that they were voting for him just because he was ‘black’, which is racist in itself…

      • SoBeRight

I suspect he did it in the 2008 campaign also.

Just seems like an Obama kinda thing to do.

But even if didn’t do this ins 2008 it makes sense for him to  do it now.

        • http://wizbangblog.com/author/rodney-graves/ Rodney G. Graves

Google search on “blacks for obama 2008″ with quotes has two results, neither of which are Obama campaign related, without quotes has nothing directly relating to the Obama campaign in the first couple of pages.

You suspect wrongly, and it only makes sense for his campaign to spend the time, effort, and money to do so if the demographic is showing signs of leaving the plantation.

          • SoBeRight

The polls show his support is down among black voters.

          • SoBeRight

Well, let’s not guess, let’s look at the polls.

A series of polls released over the last two weeks show Obama near or above 50 percent in head-to-head match-ups with his likely GOP rivals. Perhaps more importantly, the president, who trailed GOP favorite Mitt Romney among the critical bloc of independent voters by 12 points in November, now leads Romney by 9 points among independents, according
to a recent Pew Research Center poll.

Buoyed by strong economic news, his approval ratings are their highest since the killing of Osama bin Laden, according to a recent ABC News/Washington Post poll. A Gallup survey showed that despite the strong criticism from Catholic bishops and even some Catholic liberals over a controversy last week over contraception Catholic voters, another key electoral bloc, remain as supportive of the president as they were before.

            Ain’t that a kick.

Obama’s support among black voters, whose enthusiasm about Obama has dipped at times, is back to more than 90 percent.

GOTV is probably the motivation for this effort to corral Black voters.

From the original post: “I agree with Datechguy that the SCoaMF is in deep electoral trouble and is starting to panic.”

Got any FACTS or POLLS to back that up?

Of course not, it’s just BS.

Seems to me that if Obama feels a need to ‘organize’ a group that was overwhelmingly for him in 2008, then he feels there’s a problem.

You can only sell so much snake oil before the customers start clamoring for a refund.

Money quote from the clip – “I won’t have to worry about putting gas in my car. I won’t have to worry about paying my mortgage.  You know, if I help him, he’s going to help me.”

Makes you wonder how she’s feeling about him at this point… and whether she needs to be ‘organized’ so she’ll vote ‘properly’ in the upcoming election.

  • herddog505

When I read about groups that are EXPLICITLY racial, I have to wonder what would happen if one substituted “white people” in the title.

Bah.  Once again, so much for content of character over color of skin, eh?

But I agree with Datechguy and other commenters here: that Barry sees some need to explicitly go after black votes tells me that he knows he’s in trouble.

  • Hank_M

Obama should be worried. Disappointment among African americans has been evident for a year or two.

Remember in 2010 when the NY Times ran a story titled:

    “Disappointed Supporters Question Obama”

In that story, we find:“I’m exhausted of defending you, defending your administration, defending the
mantle of change that I voted for,” said the first questioner, an
African-American woman who identified herself as a chief financial officer, a
mother and a military veteran. “I’ve been told that I voted for a man who was
going to change things in a meaningful way for the middle class and I’m waiting
sir, I’m waiting. I still don’t feel it yet.”

I can only imagine how she feels now.

If obama doesn’t get high 90′s in the black vote and the same near record turnout as he did last time he risks falling below the margin of fraud where the dems can steal it for him.

    • herddog505

On the other hand, if black Americans DON’T vote in their usual numbers for Barry and the dems, will the left use this as “evidence” of “racist vote suppression” by the GOP? (the answer is “yes”, by the way)

Fortunately Obama beat McCain like a red-headed stepchild in the last election, so you can’t whine it was due to election fraud. Next stepchild? Romney or Santorum.

  • 914

You gotta figure Barry stands to get 99.9% of the dead vote.. So If he gets the obligatory 96.78% of the afro American stuck on stoopid block, he’s a shoe in to get land-slided   52%-46% ..

  • Dwayne Hendrickson

But what are his support numbers among dead black possible voters?

    • 914

If the ‘Get out the Dearly departed’ campaign goes well, Barry can expect 99.999% of possible deceased black voters to show up for him.

Some conservatives are furious with Romney for his refusal to get personal with Obama.  He has taken the approach that Obama is “a nice guy who is in over his head” instead.

What is important to remember is that Obama remains personally popular even as his approval numbers dip.  This is in large part due to human nature:  those who voted for him in 2008 do not want to admit to themselves he is a far-left scoundrel, a corrupt tool of unions and cronies who has a sick and twisted view of what our society should look like.  To do so would force them to admit they were fooled, and people are loathe to do that.

Instead, the warm and fuzzy approach allows them to say, “Sure, he was a good guy, but the lack of experience really showed up in crisis” and vote against him this time.

We don’t have to pick off many blacks, Hispanics, moderates, and liberals to make his reelection problematic – given the independents and swing voters are leaning against him already.

       Good points Adjoran.

As for Obama remaining popular, I tend to think that is also a result of the MSM covering for him. We know he was rude to Brewer, insulting to Palin, treats the press lousy, was dismissive and turned his back on Debra Burlingham when she tried to ask him some questions. We’ve seen his glare at Netanyahu, seen him give the finger repeatedly. We’ve seen how he treats the repubs ( I won, etc).

Truth is, I wonder just how popular he really is.

  • 914

Your right Adjoran.. Romney isn’t going to fire up conservatives to go and vote for him. But high gas, food and all around cost of living are. Will likely sway millions of votes away from the dismal Obamessiah as well.

    I’m thinking 53% ABO 46% BHO

Which sadly would mean, 46% of Americans are still looking for handouts from an empty suit.

You forgot the bigger groups-the sexual addicts, the God haters, the eco-worshippers, the envy folks, the government workers of the world, and then there is the baby killers…ooops …”choice”folks.

But what do the priests, the Oil companies, the golf club Republicans, the Log Cabin Republicans, the Republican Congress and all the conservatives who wants to cut funding for poor children and infants have to do with this?

  • Gmacr1

I’d love to be a fly on the wall inside his bunker. You know if he’s running a campaign to get out the vote for Black voters that the numbers for white voter’s he explicitly said he was going to ignore have got to be scary low for him.

    Our Troll called for Polls

Per this week’s Gallup Tracking Poll

    Approve        45%
    Disapprove    47%

Presidents with less than a 50% approval rating tend to not get re-elected.  But wait, there’s more…

Only age group at or above 50% approval?  18-29 (who don’t tend to reliably get to the polling places).

Women?  Down two points to 46% approval.

    Blacks?  86% (-12 from his 2008 election)

Once again, our troll strikes out on the facts.

I recall making a bet with Retired Military a while ago, that Obama will defeat any and all comers in the 2012 election. The bet was 20 pushups.

    Any other takers?

I think you guys are working really hard to see desperation here, whereas I’m pretty sure we’re just seeing the Obama campaign’s thoroughness. But, we’ll find it in November, won’t we?
