Success! Obama Spent $10B to Create 355 Jobs Per Year

Well, after the news from the Obama administration of its “highly successful 1603 tax program” the fantastic program that is responsible for successfully creating literally dozens of jobs at a mere cost of 10 billion tax dollars, why, I don’t want to hear you naysayers out there dissing the big guy again!

The Washington Free Beacon brings us the good news of this great Obama success having received a statement saying:

“The highly successful 1603 tax program has played a critical role in the dramatic expansion of America’s renewable energy industry over the past three years – supporting more than 30,000 renewable energy projects, leveraging more than $25 billion in private sector investments and creating tens of thousands of jobs in installation, construction and operation, as well as up and down the manufacturing supply chain,” said DOE spokesperson Jen Stutsman. “This program has helped to build infrastructure that will spur economic development and job creation in the country over the long-term and ensure the United States can compete in the global clean energy economy.”

That settles it, right?

Well, let’s see how U.S. Representative Cory Gardner (R, Colo.) added up the costs of this “success” at a recent House hearing.

Gardner asked the administration’s representative how many jobs were created and was told 355 over each of the last two years.

“I just want to know how many jobs were created,” Gardner said during the hearing.

“If you’re looking at the direct jobs, this one estimate has direct jobs created at 3,666 in the construction phase, and direct jobs created at 355,” Sherlock said. “Direct jobs would just be the construction jobs and the ongoing operations and maintenance jobs. But if you wanted to look at the supporting jobs in other industries then you’d want to look at the other figures.”

“So for direct jobs — just if we look at the first year, this is average jobs per year, it’s 355 jobs per year — in two years, 355 jobs created a year, $10 billion?” Gardner asked.

Man. I’m surprised there is any unemployment left at all with all this “success” in creating jobs Obama is celebrating.

Hmmmm. Maybe this great volume of 355 new jobs the Big O created will help offset the job losses he’s forced on the medical community already?

Probably not, eh?

For crying out loud Warner! You know that an Obama job = ten thousand real jobs. Sheesh..you people.

I don’t see how you can call this a failure when it succeeded in funneling billions of taxpayer dollars to obama donors. After all, that was the sole intent was it not?

This is where MiniTru (and a lamentable general lack of math skills) lets us down:

Barry boasts that this or that program “saves or creates” X number of jobs. Nobody ever bothers to do that math: how much did that cost (in borrowed Chinese money) per job? Even if we accept his fantasy about saving or creating four million (I believe that’s the number he likes to toss around) jobs with Porkulus, at roughly $850B, that works out to over $200k / job. He could have just given those people a check for $50k, done more good, and saved the taxpayers (present and future) $650B dollars.

Why does nobody do these simple calculations? Or am I forgetting to carry the “1″?

    • UOG

Forget to carry the 1? They don’t care if you carried the 1 or not. All they want is for you to carry the load.

In other words, there’s a wagon to be pulled, so pull harder!

They were good jobs, the right kind of jobs, meaningful jobs. You know, job jobs, not just jobs.

“Success! Obama Spent $10B to Create 355 Jobs Per Year”

Well, if reselected? Barry promises to double that number. He’s pretty transparent and a genius at math (57 States) as an example. So I take him at his prompted words.

  • 914

In all fairness though. This isn’t about half wits that are incapable of creating anything that doesn’t revolve around them self. Unless were talking about Obama.

Barrys motto: If at first you don’t succeed, spend spend again!!

Caveat: Has to be other peoples money for the motto to have ‘gravitas!’

  • 914

On the bright-side. If Barry spends and invests the whole 22 trillion plus a 300 trillion stimuli between 2013-2016 he can make up for his lackluster half witted Boosh inherited dilemma..

Those created jobs include, two caddies, 5 telepromptor specialists, 4 travel agents, and 14 “domestic servers”.

I love how no one actually fact checks around here…

13 Different cuts to Clean Energy

Industry grew by 8.3%, double the overall economy in 2008-2009

Clean energy jobs create 16.7 jobs per $1 million spent, as compared to fossil fuels, whic generates 5.3 jobs per $1 million in spending

Post facts and Todd Warner Huston just deletes the comment.

Dude, I keep telling you left-wingers that I am NOT in charge of comments here. If I were you’d never get on the page in the first place! On my own webpages I delete ALL lefty comments whether they are nice, mean, or in between. I have no use for lefty babbling.

It’s rather ironic that you talk about attacks on first Amendment rights yet can’t take anyone criticizing your opinions so you have to delete them.

Apparently you aren’t smart enough to understand what “free speech” mans. Only GOVERNMENT can violate free speech. Me deleting liberal’s comments on my private blog is MY free speech and does NOT violate theirs because they can go anywhere else and make the same brainless, inane comments. Only gov’t can actually quash free speech.

If you were smarter, you’d understand that, Jay.

It’s a little hard to accept your talking points when it has already been admitted that the definition of green jobs is meaningless

The Obama administration on Wednesday acknowledged a wide-ranging
definition of “green jobs” that includes bus driver, bicycle-shop clerk
and other unexpected lines of employment, which the chairman of the
GOP-led House oversight committee said is being done for “clearly
      political purposes.”

Clean energy used to be called green jobs.
