Occupy Wall Street Had A Murderer In Their Midst

Something useful may come of the Occupy Wall Street silliness, a murderer may have slipped up and given themself away. NBC 4 New York reports:

Officials have linked forensic evidence from the 2004 murder scene of a 21-year-old Juilliard student to the scene of a recent Occupy Wall Street subway protest, NBC 4 New York has learned.

DNA evidence from the scene of Sarah Fox’s murder in Inwood Hill Park eight years ago has been newly connected to DNA collected at the scene of an Occupy Wall Street subway station vandalism in March, NBC 4 New York first reported Tuesday.

Fox was found nude and strangled in the park in May 2004, days after she disappeared during a daytime jog. Investigators recovered her pink CD player in the woods just yards from her body.

Sources said Tuesday the DNA found on the CD player matches DNA found on a chain left by Occupy Wall Street protesters at the Beverly Road subway station in East Flatbush on March 28, 2012.

Here’s hoping the police catch this #OWS thug and give them #OccupyElectricChair.

Update: Well that didn’t last long. It now appears that the lab sample was contaminated. More at The New York Times.

    Any large organization of people will have murderers in their midst.

    How many murderers are AARP members? Republicans, Democrats? AAA members?

    • jim_m

      Sure Chico. Otherwise Occupy has been relatively crime free…

        Add in all the times they were unfairly harassed, gassed, punched and tazed by local police and that adds up to quite a lot of incidents.

        • http://wizbangblog.com/author/rodney-graves/ Rodney G. Graves

          7,338 Arrests is grounds enough for taking off the kidd gloves.

    • jim_m

      The issue is not how many people belonging to a group commit crimes. The issue is how many members of a group are committing crimes while at events sponsored by that organization? How many rapes are happening at AARP meetings? How many at TEA Party events? The point is that Occupy is an inherently lawless and violent movement.

      • http://wizbangblog.com/author/rodney-graves/ Rodney G. Graves

        More accurately, Occufail proved by their actions to be lawless and violent.

        Speaking of which, where is that nitwit anyway? I don’t think I’ve seen him around these parts in a while.

          DERP!y is over polluting the BuzzFeed thread.

    • herddog505

      That’s true. However, I think you’ll forgive many of us for scoffing because:

      (A) The Tea Parties have been and are derided as violent, racist, and even terrorists despite having little or no record of this sort of thing;

      (B) IOWS has been trumpetted by the left as a bunch of good people with good ideas, lovable youngsters who are just gosh-darned concerned about the direction our country has been going in despite the crimes, filth, and bad behavior (which jim_m documents below);

      (C) Allegations of a Tea Party member spitting on a member of Congress gets continued media coverage even after nobody can find a shred of evidence (all those cameras rolling) that it happened, while deaths, rapes, theft, assault, vandalism, etc. at IOWS are waved aside with, “Well, there are bad apples in every barrel / these are fringe elements / they aren’t REALLY IOWS people who did those things”.

      In short, the double standard is so glaring that one has to be willfully blind not to see it.

      #occupy distraction.

    Well, it’s nice that the DNA matched. That doesn’t give any idea of where the murderer is NOW – just where he WAS at one point.

    Those OWS folks are just getting better and better, aren’t they? Decidedly the sterling examples of humanity the left was trying to promote…

    Apropos of little else, it seems odd to me sometimes…

    OWS was held up as a shining social movement by the media – one that deftly destroyed itself leaving no long-term political residue. (Aside from stuff that needed a shovel and steam hose to clear away…)

    The TEA Party movement was reviled by the media – yet has had a marked effect on political thought in the US.

    The folks who advocated that everything should be ‘free’ get the good press, the folks who say we’re out of money and have to be picky about what we actually do end up with the bad.

    And yet, which group seems to be lasting longer? The one which depended on the moral authority of helplessness to guilt-trip support from those they could, or the folks who understand the concept of TANSTAAFL – that someone ALWAYS has to pay for the ‘free’ things handed out?

    You’d almost think there’d be a lesson there somewhere, wouldn’t you? That just maybe the media’s track record of ‘support’ for a cause might be something to be used as an indicator of what NOT to support in the future…

    Yea…this is bullshit. Whoever jumped too soon on this one better still be flat on their face. Whomever deserves serious reprimand for getting ahead of themselves. My only thoughts went to the family of Sarah Fox who i believe did not much appreciate this. This should not have been brought out by the media drawn with pointed fingers toward the occupy movement. Its pretty rediculous and all around disrespectful.

    A retraction is order. Or are you just interested in smearing the Occupy movement. You undermine your own argument when you make false or malicious statements against those who you dislike politically.
