Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr. (D-IL) is still in some sort of rehab, but his mother let slip one of the things that is really troubling him.
CHICAGO (CBS) — The mother of U.S. Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr. broke her silence about her son’s illness, acknowledging the congressman has had trouble dealing the “enormous disappointment” over the past few years.
“I’m not ashamed to say,” Jacqueline Jackson said at a speech at an Operation PUSH luncheon on Friday, “he thought he was going to be a senator. He thought he was going to have a chance to run for mayor. And young people don’t bounce back from disappointment like me and my husband.”
Oh boo hoo…
For some reason I picture him in a Scooby Doo episode…
“I would have gotten away with it, too, if it weren’t for you meddling kids!”

A lot of mental illnesses are organically based. He didn’t hurt anyone, and I wish him a recovery and peace with himself.

A lot of mental illnesses are organically based
By that you mean being a Chicago democrat?

Must you politicize everything?
Chico’s statement is politically neutral and states a fact. A mental health problem can be organic in origin. Every day I take a prescribed anti-depressant because I have chronic depression that is organic in origin.

But you’re not black, David. Jim and his fellow trolls draw a distinction there. Anyone black is guilty of being defective — even when the circumstances are identical to a situation involving whites.

No. Jesse Jr is a corrupt politician (but I repeat myself) from a corrupt family. He deserves no sympathy

Mr Chickenshit Bullshitter plays the race card YET AGAIN. What is that? 4 times today??? Havent you maxed out your quota yet.

I have had depression. I fully understand where you are coming from. I was merely being flippant and not meaning to offend. My ex struggled with mental illness for years (still does as far as I can tell).
However, it’s hard to feel that much sympathy for the Jackson clan. Jesse Jr’s two brothers were granted a (lucrative and very difficult to obtain) liquor distributorship in Illinois after dear old dad shook down Anheuser Busch. Daddy makes a living shaking down corporations and race baiting. Jr is implicated in the same scandal that just landed Blago in the federal pen.
It is highly probable that his depression and other issues stem from his having to cope with a life style funded by corruption that may be unraveling. I don’t feel that sorry for him. His family has bled this city dry for decades. Daddy’s operation PUSH protested the reconstruction of the Dan Ryan expressway in Chicago. What was their protest? “We want out fair share” Not of jobs, of the contracting money that ultimately was funneled through front operations that subcontracted the work out to the original contractors. They demanded a pay off and got it. Again if he’s depressed because the game is up then that’s fine with me.

For once Grumpy said something that isn’t objectionable, and you criticize him for saying it? FOX News personality Sean Hannity also wished Rep. Jackson well.

derp isn’t a criticism, it’s a childish outburst from an immature ass.

I dont watch Fox news In addition, if this was a conservative Grumpy would be dancing at the news.

Maybe the first step in recovery would be to get out of politics…
If his parents would let him.
Commander_Chico
probably true.

Likely a lot of pressure to stay in the ‘family business’, so to speak…

Really? Perhaps I should send her the link to the article on the young army man, WHO LOST ALL HIS LIMBS. He seems to be doing rather well.

Well, @David_Robertson:disqus, @jim_m723:disqus didn’t set the Ailinskyite trend, and he’d be a fool not to use them once they have prospered.
Last I checked he’s no fool.
