Australian Hurdler Michelle Jenneke Shows Off Her Dance Moves

19 year-old Australian hurdler Michelle Jenneke is the new internet sensation of the day, not for her heat of the 100 meter hurdles at the World Junior Championships in Barcelona, but for her inspired warm-up dance. You can see that in the video below. It goes on for about the first two minutes of the video and then the race starts.

Note: There’s also a version set to cheesy pop music.

Looks like she gets a little Zumba in her training routine…

Sadly, young miss Jenneke will not be participating in the Olympics in London this year. Maybe she’ll be ready for the Rio De Janeiro games in 2016.

So … would she be more successful as a cheerleader or runner? At first I wondered if warmup dancing should be added as a new Olympic sport, but then I remembered we already have women’s beach volleyball.

Clearly the masking agents are covering up all the amphetamines.

I don’t know about her, but I’m exhausted.

Reminds me of a movie Patty Duke starred in long ago. She too was a runner and she heard a beat in her head. Then she could run like the wind. It was called “Billie”, or something like that.

This video puts me in mind of one of L’s favorite lines: “I love the women’s movement, especially if I’m watching it from behind.”

Most people try to calm the nervous energy they feel before a big race. She apparently amps it up and plays with it.
