Alderman/Mayor Emanuel Admit: Chicago is NOT for Christians

Anti-religion Chicago Alderman Joe Moreno has affirmed that the City of Chicago does not welcome Christians and stands four square against Christian principles. Further, Moreno says he has the “moral support” of Mayor Rahm Emanuel for his pronouncement.

Moreno is trying to shut down the opening of a new Chick-Fil-A restaurant in the city. Why? Because the chief of the company — well-known as enthusiastic boosters of Christian ideals — recently affirmed that his company does not support the homosexual lifestyle.

Moreno got on his high horse claiming that the fast food chain “discriminates” against homosexuals. This, of course, is a lie. No where has Chick-Fil-A been accused of any concrete discrimination against gays.

For his part, Mayor Emanuel agreed with liar Moreno.

“Chick-fil-A values are not Chicago values,” the mayor said in a statement when asked about Moreno’s decision. “They disrespect our fellow neighbors and residents. This would be a bad investment, since it would be empty.”

As I noted, Chick-Fil-A has for many, many years been known as hearty boosters of Christian ideals. The company even closes its stores on Sundays to observe the Christian Sabbath despite the millions a year in lost sales that practice incurs.

So, with Emanuel saying that Chick-Fil-A’s values are “not Chicago’s values,” he is directly saying that the City of Chicago is against Christians.

Nice, isn’t it?

What is most interesting is that these two half-wit libs are whining about the so-called discrimination against gays — and that is bad — but they both have no problem at all with discrimination against Christians — and that is good.

Hypocrites.

Further, both this anti-Christian alderman and Mayor Emanuel are saying that Christians do not deserve their Constitutional rights to free speech and fee thought. If Christians don’t toe the Mayor’s line of thinking, why they are to be punished.

But there is also one more point to make, here. Is Rahm Emanuel anti-Islam, then? After all, Islam also has proscriptions against homosexuality (not that all Muslims observe that proscription, fo course). So, should Emanuel and his lackey Alderman Moreno start closing down Mosques in Chicago? They should if they are going to follow their discrimination against Christians, anyway.

Nor is Chicago for people who want jobs, or to not be shot by criminals, or in some cases murdered or assaulted by an off-duty policeman.

Chicago is fast on its way to becoming the second Detroit.

    • MunDane68

Nahh…LA will be the second Detroit, Chicago will be the third

Nope. San Francisco, Oakland, and Chicago will all be there before Los Angeles.

Don’t forget Baltimore and Camden, NJ! They’ve been circling the drain for decades.

Snicker. “Chicago values”………….snicker. Evidently Rahm is unfamiliar with what most of us associate “Chicago values”……..corruption…..vote buying….malfeasance in office…….

Meh. Judge the sandwich by the sandwich.

I guess they have jobs to spare in chicago.

Unemployment is the single most stimulatory thing we can do for the economy. Chicago is going to stimulate their economy better than any other city until everyone is out of work.

Only for those who think “correctly”.

      It really is unbelievable.

As with the other thread about Christianity. It is not that Christians hate gays, God calls that life an abomination. I cannot believe only the parts of the bible that my country and society agree with. It’s like, “I’m a little pregnant”, it is basically you are a believer in God or not. ww

I suppose that when you deny that man has an eternal soul then all you have left is that a man is the sum of their actions. If you say that a particular action is wrong then you are not merely criticizing the action, you are also criticizing the man. This is a sad and empty way of looking at life and people.

It demeans people to view them as nothing more than the things they do, but that is essentially what the left does when they conflate disapproval of homosexual sex with a hatred of homosexuals themselves.

For our lefty friends here: Let’s just be clear about what you support…

if a business is forced to declare its political beliefs — and if that declaration can mean the difference between getting a license or not, that’s “something else.”

    It’s fascism, actually.

But this Chick-fil-A story is something beyond a demand to declare oneself
and face consequences — it’s even worse than that. Apparently the
mainstream media has taken it upon itself (perhaps because the owners
are Christian?) to define Chick-fil-A’s positions for it.

Nominal private ownership of business but government control of the marketplace such that any business that does not toe the government line will be shut down.

Welcome to your brave new world lefties. Embrace your truth.

Here is what annoys me about this latest brouhaha: Anything less than full-throated support of the LGBT movement is portrayed as opposition. They claim they want tolerance, but what they really want (and will not settle for less) is celebration and endorsement. I know it’s not all gay folks that are like this, but the activists and the opportunistic politicians they are in bed with certainly are.

      EXACTLY!

I think Thomas Sowell, in a column that ran yesterday, explained it perfectly.

“….the gay political agenda is not equality but privilege.”
