Smart Car Driver Leads Troopers In Comical Car Chase

There’s just something funny about a guy who thinks he’s going to outrun cops in a Smart Car…

HOUSTON – A suspect in a Smart Car made a dumb move when he led a DPS trooper on a high-speed chase that ended in his own driveway.

Police say the trooper tried to stop David Wheaton on I-10 near Kirkwood shortly before noon, but he kept going.

This guy (who neighbors say is over six feet tall and north of 250 pounds) is a three-time DUI looser, so he’ll probably be loosing that electric ride for good, in addition to spending a long stretch in jail.

So – what did they do to Adam Smith when they caught up with him?

    • jim_m

No way that was Adam Smith. He couldn’t fit his ego in a tiny car like that.

  • jim_m

So he was driving a not-so-Smart car?

    • http://opinion.ak4mc.us/ Scribe of Slog (McGehee)

He made the mistake of driving a car that was smarter than him. Of course, a rusted-out Edsel would have qualified too.

So he saves on fuel costs then pay 10 times that in fines and loses the car?

    Real smart.

Ronmney’s definitely your kindred spirit for a smart energy policy in America’s heartland! that will rid the country of all those new fangled innovations.

A smart energy policy would be using all the available resources to make peoples lives easier.. With liberalism it is the opposite. Use all assemblage of knowledge to fuck with everybody’s lives..

It’s more – “We think this will work. We’re so sure of it, we’ll spend billions of dollars on it. And when it fails, we think it’ll work if we just spend billions more. And when it fails again… we’ll blame Bush. Because the economy’s bad. Because we still think it’s a good idea – we just didn’t spend enough money on it and force enough people to use it.”

If it’d worked – if the ‘newfangled innovations’ had produced usable amounts of power reliably and economically – they’d have been adopted. If they were BETTER, they’d have been adopted. Even if people had to pay MORE, if they were perceived as ‘better’, there would have been sufficient adopters to fund innovation and production.

But the varied schemes were too expensive for the value received, and showed little sign of being serious replacements.

        Let the market decide.
