As Embassies Burned, Obama More Interested in Interviews and Photo Ops

Even as President Obama’s flacks are telling the media that he is too smart to attend daily intelligence briefings, we are finally finding out what he did on that volatile Friday morning last week when our embassies were burning and 21 countries were erupting in anti-American protests. Instead of worrying about all that, Obama was giving puffball interviews to entertainment magazines and having photo ops.

Instead of spending precious time dealing with the developing crisis in the Mid East and with his foreign policy scheme in a total freefall, on Friday morning, September 14, Obama was giving an interview to the entertainment magazine People en Español and participating in a photo session with photographer Omar Cruz.

Worse, this puffball interview wasn’t on his public schedule and was hidden from the public. Wasn’t Obama the one that claimed he’d have the most transparent administration in history?

You might recall that Friday the 14th was the same day that four flag-draped coffins of those killed at our Libyan embassy were arriving at Andrews Air Force base.

Sadly, the only way the rest of us found out that Obama had conducted this interview hidden from the prying eyes of the public was because the folks that work for the magazine Tweeted about their visit after the event was over.

I guess we can see why he has no time for daily intelligence briefings.

He has to get all the stuff in before Jan 20. After that people will say “Barrack who???”

    • herddog505

Oh, no we won’t. We’ll be cursing this stupid f*ck for decades to come.

The Rose Garden Strategy did not work well for Jimmy Carter in 1980, when he stopped campaigning to focus on the Iran embassy, nor did it work for McCain when he suspended his campaign for the financial crisis.

The fact is that the USA has been in war and crisis since 2001. I don’t remember GW Bush suspending his campaign in 2004, despite the hundreds of troops that were being killed in Iraq and Afghanistan that year. Iraq was basically in flames that year.

I’d like to see Warner say something substantial, like “get out of Afghanistan,” or even “bomb Iran,” but he concentrates on retarded shit like this.

    • jim_m

Yeah, Chico. and Warner doesn’t even blame the jews.

Plus you are awfully quick to blame Booosh for the military deaths over seas, but you give obama a pass even though more deaths have occurred in Afghanistan under obama than under Bush. http://www.justforeignpolicy.org/obamavsbush

      • Commander_Chico_Cognoscente

I don’t give Obama a pass. He should have got out of there at least a year ago.

  • herddog505

Well, what do we expect? Imagine:

You’re a vain, conceited man with no real skills other than a good speaking ability. So far, you’ve been able to keep your cushy job NOT by doing it well but rather by making people THINK you’re doing it well and also by blaming everything bad that happens on somebody else. Now, would YOU visibly take charge during a crisis (that might get blamed on you), or would you go to photo op and let fawning reporters ask you about how wonderful you are?

He’s voting ‘Present”. Keeping his name out there, hoping the gullible saps will vote for him a second time no matter how much he’s ripped them off.

  • Carl

Blah blah blah. Yeah, Obama wasn’t worried about that. He was off laughing and joking.

Are you are stupid as you sound? Do you really believe the nonsense you write?

    • GarandFan

Whatsa matter Carl? Your Obamassiah not living up to your expectations? Flying to Vegas for a fundraiser while the mid-east burns? Guess that Cairo “reset” speech didn’t work out so well after all. Just like that “reset” with the Russians.

      • Carl

Adding stupid to stupid just equals more stupid, GarandFan. Are all Obama haters just morons?

This race was Romney’s to lose.

It’s the one thing Romney is succeeding at — failing. And all the whizzers can come up with is painting a picture of Obama as an uncaring leader.

Sorry guys. ABO turned into ABR. You guys refused to stand up for Romney through the primaries and beyond. ABO ABO – you didn’t care what Romney stood for, he stood for a chance in the WH residency.

Problem is, as bad as the situation was for Obama you offered no alternative. You didn’t present a viable option. You just made snarky jokes like this childish nonsense – and when called on it you add pie on more nonsense about dancing in Vegas while the mid-east burns.

Teh fact is Obama has taken out more top AQ terrorist leaders in his first 3 years than Bush took out in 8.

And that reality just sucks for you clowns, doesn’t it?

The Tea Party nutz killed Romney’s chances by acting like children instera dof offering adult solutions. The sad thing is, these children have clearly demonstrated they haven’t a clue as to what the real issues are. What Americans really care about.

To them, making jokes about Obama’s teleprompter was high politics. Of course they’ve shut up about that now that Romney and Ryan have shown they can’t recite their names without reading it off a prompter.

        • GarandFan

Keep swilling the Kool Aid. Denial isn’t a river in Egypt.

        • jim_m

Teh fact is Obama has taken out more top AQ terrorist leaders in his first 3 years than Bush took out in 8.

Yep. And FDR fought WWII for years, but within weeks of taking office Truman had killed Mussolini and conquered Germany. Then just a few months later forced the capitulation of Japan.

Too bad like FDR, Bush had wasted all that time and energy doing nothing. FDR: Probably the worst war president (or so claims Carl)

Carl should know. He is an expert on adding stupid to stupid.

He has added more deficit in 3 than bush in 8.
Put more folks out of a job in 3 than Bush in 8.
added more folks to the welfare rolls in 3 than Bush in 8.
Did more harm to the country in 3 than Bush did in 8.
Lied to Congress more in 3 than Bush in 8
Lied to the American people more in 3 than Bush in 8.
Bypassed congress more in 3 than Bush in 8.
Committed more crimes in 3 than Bush did in 9

Shall I go on? I can keep this up all day.

I eagerly await Warner’s story about how the people of Benghazi are now evicting the Islamist militias from their bases and chanting “No more al-Qaida!” and “The blood we shed for freedom will not be in vain!”, as protesters numbering in the tens of thousands march in Libya’s streets.

    • herddog505

As we all do, I’m sure. It’s good to – at last – see Muslims actually standing up to the extremists.

      • http://www.rustedsky.net JLawson

I’m glad to see it too – but I wonder how long it’ll be until the extremists get tired of it and start shooting the folks protesting them…

        • jim_m

Indeed. Marching in the street is not very efficacious against people willing to commit mass murder.

    • warnertoddhuston

You expect me to believe that they mean it and that they aren’t just a false flag protest?

      • Brucehenry

Oh, no, I don’t expect anything of you but more of the same.

        • warnertoddhuston

Just as no one should expect anything sentient coming from you.

          • Brucehenry

Is that your way of saying “neener neener,” genius?

  • LiberalNightmare

Those men died so that Obama could have the right to be interviewed whenever and where-ever he likes.

Ill hear nothing bad about him!

  • http://www.wizbangblog.com David Robertson

Warner has a valid point. In public, President Obama has behaved as if nothing significant happened in the Middle East during the last two weeks.
