Below is the live blogging…

Doug Johnson October 16, 201210:47 pm

Here’s the loser…

She’s Team Obama all the way…

Baron Von Ottomatic October 16, 201210:44 pm

I can’t see this holding anyone’s interest or moving the needle.

Doug Johnson October 16, 201210:44 pm

According to @jpodhoretz: Debate will end with Obama having 10 percent more time than Romney.

Baron Von Ottomatic October 16, 201210:42 pm

Frankly, I’m pissed at them both for preempting Glee.

Baron Von Ottomatic October 16, 201210:42 pm

If I’m am undecided voter I probably was watching some crap on TLC.

Doug Johnson October 16, 201210:41 pm

Is that really necessary? Obama saying he doesn’t believe in government made me laugh.

Baron Von Ottomatic October 16, 201210:39 pm

Mercifully over.

Baron Von Ottomatic October 16, 201210:39 pm

They get closing statements, right?

Baron Von Ottomatic October 16, 201210:38 pm

Look at the results.

Baron Von Ottomatic October 16, 201210:38 pm

Playing by the rules means getting big enough to buy favors in Washington…

Baron Von Ottomatic October 16, 201210:37 pm

I believe at some point you’ve made enough.

Doug Johnson October 16, 201210:37 pm

Create the next Solyndra?

Baron Von Ottomatic October 16, 201210:35 pm

Great opportunity for Romney. Obama is a known commodity.

Doug Johnson October 16, 201210:35 pm

http://www.whitehouse.gov/the-press-office/2012/09/12/remarks-president-deaths-us-embassy-staff-libya

Didn’t call the assassination an act of terror, but have a generic “no act of terror will deter us” line at the end of the remarks. The whole Rose Garden speech was generic. It was the lie upon lie from administration officials in the following days that people are upset about.

Baron Von Ottomatic October 16, 201210:33 pm

Assembling cars is high wage, low skill.

Baron Von Ottomatic October 16, 201210:32 pm

Make it less expensive to hire people in America.

Baron Von Ottomatic October 16, 201210:32 pm

Four years of nothing, Mr. President, we’re growing at 1%.

Doug Johnson October 16, 201210:31 pm

Obama: Save Me Candy!

Baron Von Ottomatic October 16, 201210:30 pm

Oh thank God, one more question.

Baron Von Ottomatic October 16, 201210:30 pm

Stop with the China bashing.

Baron Von Ottomatic October 16, 201210:27 pm

IP theft is a much bigger deal than currency.

Doug Johnson October 16, 201210:27 pm

Fast and Furious got shot down hard by Crowley.

Baron Von Ottomatic October 16, 201210:27 pm

Outsourcing. Cheap energy, less regulation.

Baron Von Ottomatic October 16, 201210:25 pm

Last question? Please?

Baron Von Ottomatic October 16, 201210:24 pm

If Massachusetts wants an assault weapon ban, so be it.

Baron Von Ottomatic October 16, 201210:24 pm

Why does no Republican ever mention state’s rights?

Baron Von Ottomatic October 16, 201210:22 pm

There’s my Fast and Furious.

Baron Von Ottomatic October 16, 201210:21 pm

Two parent family. Well played.

Doug Johnson October 16, 201210:21 pm

Assault weapons question? Really?

Baron Von Ottomatic October 16, 201210:20 pm

Automatic weapons are almost never used in crimes.

Baron Von Ottomatic October 16, 201210:19 pm

The price of AR-15s just shot up.

Doug Johnson October 16, 201210:18 pm

“The suggestion anyone on my team would play politics on Benghazi is offensive” HA HA HA HA.

Baron Von Ottomatic October 16, 201210:17 pm

The Fast and Furious door is wide open.

Doug Johnson October 16, 201210:16 pm

He might have even attended a PDB, though probably not…

Baron Von Ottomatic October 16, 201210:14 pm

He made a stern statement.

Baron Von Ottomatic October 16, 201210:14 pm

Because, Vegas, baby!

Doug Johnson October 16, 201210:14 pm

Because 9/11 is just another day in Obama-land…

Doug Johnson October 16, 201210:13 pm

Maybe Obama will explain why there was no general increase in security at any location world wide on 9/11.

Baron Von Ottomatic October 16, 201210:13 pm

Vegas, baby!

Doug Johnson October 16, 201210:12 pm

Cary Latka FTW

Baron Von Ottomatic October 16, 201210:11 pm

I knew he wouldn’t answer.

Baron Von Ottomatic October 16, 201210:10 pm

It’s been a month, who said no to the increased security?

Baron Von Ottomatic October 16, 201210:09 pm

A Benghazi question. He won’t answer it.

Baron Von Ottomatic October 16, 201210:08 pm

I’m voting Kang. Kodos can’t be trusted.

Baron Von Ottomatic October 16, 201210:07 pm

Make it stop.

Baron Von Ottomatic October 16, 201210:06 pm

Oy, that’s horrible.

Baron Von Ottomatic October 16, 201210:06 pm

Chinese investments? No! Let it go.

Baron Von Ottomatic October 16, 201210:04 pm

Why didn’t he fix it when he had two unopposed years to do so?

Doug Johnson October 16, 201210:03 pm

Yep. Sly move there…

Baron Von Ottomatic October 16, 201210:03 pm

Pathway to perm residence and pathway to citizenship are two different things.

Baron Von Ottomatic October 16, 201210:02 pm

Not a peep on immigration reform.

Baron Von Ottomatic October 16, 201210:02 pm

Obama had two years to pass whatever he wanted, he passed Stimulus and Obamacare.

Baron Von Ottomatic October 16, 201210:00 pm

When Juan comes marching home…

Baron Von Ottomatic October 16, 20129:58 pm

Jack boots and batons!

Baron Von Ottomatic October 16, 20129:58 pm

Mitt sounds pretty sincere on that answer.

Doug Johnson October 16, 20129:57 pm

From the Twitter feed… Pretty awesome.

Steve Schippert October 16, 20129:57 pm

Pay discrepancy for women answer from Obama was “we gave Pell Grants”? Really? Holy Hell, I wish I were debating this clown.

Doug Johnson October 16, 20129:55 pm

How does OBL being dead help anyone without a job?

Baron Von Ottomatic October 16, 20129:55 pm

If you make less than $250K a year you won’t pay a dime in new taxes.

Baron Von Ottomatic October 16, 20129:54 pm

Promises. Romney should hammer him.

Doug Johnson October 16, 20129:53 pm

Agreed.

Baron Von Ottomatic October 16, 20129:53 pm

These townhall debates are so tiresome.

Steve Schippert October 16, 20129:52 pm

All about “we” the government getting your “money”. The end. Vote tomorrow.

Baron Von Ottomatic October 16, 20129:51 pm

Inflation is a hell of a drug.

Steve Schippert October 16, 20129:51 pm

Anyone notice on economics & taxes, Obama said under Romney capital gains tax will remain low for “the wealthy” so “we’re not going to get money that way”?

Baron Von Ottomatic October 16, 20129:51 pm

What does social policy have to do with jobs?

Baron Von Ottomatic October 16, 20129:49 pm

Spending is what got us into deficits under Bush.

Baron Von Ottomatic October 16, 20129:48 pm

Obama has continued the Bush tax cuts.

Steve Schippert October 16, 20129:47 pm

Just heard Obama say “…if we’re serious about cutting the deficit…” It’s a punchline in and of itself.

Baron Von Ottomatic October 16, 20129:46 pm

Bad move by Romney, should have ignored the lady parts question.

Baron Von Ottomatic October 16, 20129:45 pm

A blame Bush question, nice twist.

Baron Von Ottomatic October 16, 20129:44 pm

New tires are money out of their pocket too. Why not free tires?

Baron Von Ottomatic October 16, 20129:43 pm

What do lady parts have to do with equal pay?

Baron Von Ottomatic October 16, 20129:43 pm

Lily Ledbetter bill was just a trial lawyer sop.

Baron Von Ottomatic October 16, 20129:42 pm

Please say the word “grow” when referencing the economy.

Steve Schippert October 16, 20129:42 pm

Reminding self that facts don’t need to be true. The President simply needs to say it is so. By the time it’s refuted, his target audience has been affected. And most won’t hear the facts later. Demagoguery.

Baron Von Ottomatic October 16, 20129:41 pm

Zounds. The pandering, it burns!

Baron Von Ottomatic October 16, 20129:39 pm

Obama’s own administration pays women less than men.

Baron Von Ottomatic October 16, 20129:39 pm

Women have been hardest hit the last four years.

Baron Von Ottomatic October 16, 20129:38 pm

It’s against the law to discriminate. End of story.

Steve Schippert October 16, 20129:37 pm

I am behind the debate. 12 y/o keeps pausing the DVR to take notes. I can hardly complain that she’s disrupting the flow…

Baron Von Ottomatic October 16, 20129:37 pm

No, you were raised by a rich dude in Indonesia and your upper class grandparents.

Baron Von Ottomatic October 16, 20129:37 pm

Just two guys shouting.

Baron Von Ottomatic October 16, 20129:36 pm

Growth. Growth helps offset rate reductions.

Baron Von Ottomatic October 16, 20129:34 pm

This is how a nation dies.

Baron Von Ottomatic October 16, 20129:34 pm

Big bird…

Baron Von Ottomatic October 16, 20129:33 pm

Feel free to demagogue.

Baron Von Ottomatic October 16, 20129:32 pm

Mr. President, allow me to lob you a softball.

Steve Schippert October 16, 20129:32 pm

Yep. Obama doesn’t understand bankruptcy: http://www.nationalreview.com/corner/330638/obama-doesnt-understand-bankruptcy-lisa-schiffren

Baron Von Ottomatic October 16, 20129:30 pm

What grows our economy is investment, not tax breaks.

Kevin October 16, 20129:29 pm

So I am listening on radio. Sounds like a draw on radio.

Baron Von Ottomatic October 16, 20129:29 pm

The Democrat-controlled Senate hasn’t passed a budget in three years.

Steve Schippert October 16, 20129:28 pm

When Romney is elected, will a former president Barack Obama be gracious enough to blame economic struggles on Romney’s inherited inheritance? It will forever be Bush’s fault, won’t it?

Baron Von Ottomatic October 16, 20129:27 pm

I hate the creepy half thumbs up

Baron Von Ottomatic October 16, 20129:26 pm

Don’t tax money twice. Nice.

Baron Von Ottomatic October 16, 20129:25 pm

Index deductions to income

Baron Von Ottomatic October 16, 20129:25 pm

Bring up Obamacare.

Kevin October 16, 20129:23 pm

I miss Jim Leher…

Baron Von Ottomatic October 16, 20129:23 pm

It’s a race to the bottom.

Baron Von Ottomatic October 16, 20129:23 pm

Egad.

Baron Von Ottomatic October 16, 20129:21 pm

The economy is still in collapse.

Baron Von Ottomatic October 16, 20129:18 pm

Gas prices are up despite all that, why?

Baron Von Ottomatic October 16, 20129:16 pm

Lower prices now. Yes, lower energy prices mean lower manufacturing costs.

Baron Von Ottomatic October 16, 20129:14 pm

Let the market determine what energy source we use.

Baron Von Ottomatic October 16, 20129:12 pm

Keystone pipeline!

Baron Von Ottomatic October 16, 20129:11 pm

Romney’s first volley was poor.

Baron Von Ottomatic October 16, 20129:10 pm

Who owns GM and Chrysler now?

Baron Von Ottomatic October 16, 20129:08 pm

Unsaddle business from regulation.

Baron Von Ottomatic October 16, 20129:07 pm

Need more tech training.

Baron Von Ottomatic October 16, 20129:07 pm

We have too many college grads.

Baron Von Ottomatic October 16, 20129:06 pm

You can only build manufacturing jobs by freeing them from regulation.

Baron Von Ottomatic October 16, 20129:04 pm

Let the mockery begin!

Kevin October 16, 20129:04 pm

Questioners should be mocked if they ask dumb questions.

Baron Von Ottomatic October 16, 20129:03 pm

Our first question is on lady parts.

Baron Von Ottomatic October 16, 20129:01 pm

These rubes were selected for the audience based on presubmitted questions, weren’t they?

Baron Von Ottomatic October 16, 20129:00 pm

Are there truly any undecided voters left?

Steve Schippert October 16, 20128:59 pm

Bring the living Constitution with you when you come, Kevin.

Baron Von Ottomatic October 16, 20128:58 pm

Blah blah blah, Obama’s record, blah blah blah…

Kevin October 16, 20128:58 pm

Sorry guys, I got delayed at work. Won’t be back to the living blog for 30 minutes.

Baron Von Ottomatic October 16, 20128:58 pm

Don’t you want someone who is a proven leader and decision maker in the Oval Office?

Baron Von Ottomatic October 16, 20128:57 pm

Well, it’s no secret I’m a wealthy man. I made worked hard and made wise decisions with my, and other investors’, money.

Baron Von Ottomatic October 16, 20128:56 pm

President Obama keeps bringing up my tax rate.

Baron Von Ottomatic October 16, 20128:56 pm

I’d like to see Romney hammer him on competence.

Baron Von Ottomatic October 16, 20128:54 pm

Glass jaw = his record

Baron Von Ottomatic October 16, 20128:53 pm

The Comeback Kid has a glass jaw.

Steve Schippert October 16, 20128:53 pm

Who else can’t wait for the first network to officially declare Barack Obama the Comeback Kid? Side note: Will MSNBC at least wait for the first question to be answered?

Baron Von Ottomatic October 16, 20128:32 pm

Once again I shall be watching tonight’s debate on Cspan.

Baron Von Ottomatic October 16, 20128:25 pm

I hope he didn’t bring that weak stuff inside on a hardcourt in Chicago.

Baron Von Ottomatic October 16, 20128:24 pm

I mean, you’re riding the pine at a private school? A private school in Hawaii?

Baron Von Ottomatic October 16, 20128:23 pm

He sucks at basketball, too.

Baron Von Ottomatic October 16, 20128:23 pm

Except golf. And bowling.

Baron Von Ottomatic October 16, 20128:22 pm

Obama’s not a natural debater. He’s not the type who practices, either.

Baron Von Ottomatic October 16, 20128:20 pm

Unless you’re naturally wired to be a good debater it requires a lot of work.

Baron Von Ottomatic October 16, 20128:19 pm

He gave a stump speech in the first debate because it’s all he really does well.

Baron Von Ottomatic October 16, 20128:18 pm

Frankly, Obama doesn’t strike me as a guy who ever had to really knuckle down and focus on something he doesn’t like to do.

Baron Von Ottomatic October 16, 20128:17 pm

But look for Romney to continue his momentum.

Baron Von Ottomatic October 16, 20128:15 pm

Conventional wisdom says Obama will bounce back tonight with a strong performance.

Baron Von Ottomatic October 16, 20128:14 pm

Expect plenty of UNT v. ULaLa updates

Baron Von Ottomatic October 16, 20128:13 pm

I’ll try to stay with the debate as long as possible, but listening to TFG for nigh on 45 minutes?

Baron Von Ottomatic October 16, 20128:12 pm

Welcome to the Wizbang 2012 Presidential Debate #2 Pregame show. I’m your host, Baron Von Ottomatic.

Doug Johnson October 16, 20125:39 pm

Tonight should be very interesting. Obama could hardly do worse than last time, but debate #2 and #3 won’t really matter compared to number one, unless one candidate just tanks it again. Romney isn’t likely to screw up. In trying to play catch up Obama has to take the biggest risks of coming across poorly by being to aggressive.

So will Barry and the whores of the MSM make excuses before the debate, or wait until after.

    • herddog505

What need to make excuses? I’m sure that the word has gone out: even if Barry shows up smoking crack, tears of his clothes, and starts gibbering at the audience, he will be decreed to have won, reigniting his campaign and erasing Romney’s minor surge in some polls.

    • retired.military

MSNBC has already called Obama the winner. Just turn on Chris Matthews.

  • retired.military

Look for Obama to make some kind of policy announcement tonight as a rebuttal to one of Romney;s points. It will be a “state of the union” like announcement for a new program that he just implemented. The lamestream media will hail it as brilliant and a gamechanger.

I am sure that Obama has received a heads up on what questions Crowley has decided will be asked and I sincerely doubt any of them will have to do with Bengazi.

    • jim_m

I would guarantee that Crowley’s follow ups are confined to leftist accusations against Romney. If there is any follow up with obama it will be “Cotton or polyester?” after he answers the boxers or briefs question. Expect it to be hailed as incisive questioning of obama and regardless of Romney’s answers he will be characterized as evasive.

      • retired.military

Look at what Raddick said about Biden. He was too big for the stage. Made me want to puke.

When is the RNC going to demand some balance in the debates. I am tired of republicans having to compete in a rigged event. It is a wonder they can break even with the moderator bias.

  • LiberalNightmare

I hope Romney shows up wearing a Big Bird novelty tie.

    • http://www.facebook.com/people/Lee-Norman/1067211369 Lee Norman

I would have just to hear the sounds of liberals heads exploding!

  • retired.military

Well Romney was nice first 2 min. Obama starts on the attack. Build manufacturing jobs means union jobs. LOL. I cant believe he just brought up solar wind and electric cars. Damn hitting all the talking points in the first 2 min.

  • retired.military

Crowley putting herself into it already.

    • 914

      Damn! I gotta watch now!

  • retired.military

Obama coming out on the attack right away.

  • retired.military

Romney is giving as good as he got. and I dont know where Obama is trying to go with alternative energy because it is a loser for him.

  • retired.military

Obama standing there lying his ass off. Big surprise.

  • retired.military

Crowley has asked 3 times now follow ups to Obama to try to help him out. Didnt want Romney to respond like he was supposed to be able to.

    • The_Queen_of_France

yeah…don’t know whether to vote that comment up (I agree) or down (she SUCKS as an impartial moderator)

  • The_Queen_of_France

Romney: “….because middle class America has been buried for the last four years..”
Oh, how I wish he’d added “Just ask Joe Biden, he’ll tell you!”

  • The_Queen_of_France

please please please point out that every budget this president proposed was soundly rejected…by his own parties!

    • The_Queen_of_France

      oops, that should say “party.”

  • The_Queen_of_France

There it is! “I killed Bin Laden!” We can all go to bed now.

  • The_Queen_of_France

“You don’t turn a crisis into a political issue, not right when it’s happening.” Nope, what you do is go to Vegas, baby!

    • The_Queen_of_France

      uh oh, Barry’s not happy

      • The_Queen_of_France

For a second, I thought Romney was going to get slugged.

  • jim_m

Well, I thought that Mitt did a pretty decent job considering he was debating both obama AND Crowley.

    • http://wizbangblog.com Kevin

      Ain’t that the truth…
