The name of this hurricane reminds me of the story of a crop-duster-for-hire. He was negotiating a contract with a farmer in Kansas who had 100+ acres. As they were going over the contract the crop duster asked if there was a clause in there about flying in rainstorms.

    The farmer said, “Yes.”

“How about a clause about flying in snowstorms?”

Again the farmer said “Yes, there is a clause about that.”

The crop duster thought about the area he would be flying and asked, “Well how about a clause for flying in sandstorms?”

And the farmer said,”I’m sorry, son. There is no Sandy Clause.”

A bit of a bright spot:

There’s a pic going around of the guards at the Tomb of the Unknowns. Does it surprise anybody that the soldiers are faithfully still at their posts?

They did the same last year during Irene. They were offered the opportunity to ‘stand down’. They refused.

        I remember that.

Somehow, I have the idea that there ain’t much that WOULD drive these soldiers from their post.

This is Obama’s last best hope to look presidential. In addition, if Sandy messes up Penn and VA’s voting bad enough Obama might be able to tell how many thousands of votes they have to manufacture to try to win those states.

Obama made the storm happen right now on purpose, you know.

Muslims from Kenya are like that.

Not to minimize the danger and hardships (my sister lives in NJ), but I’m beginning to tire of the “IT’S THE END OF THE WORLD AS WE KNOW IT!” tone of some of these newscasters.

Been through countless hurricanes myself while living in the south. DEAL WITH IT!

Category 1 in Jupiter, Fl. slept thru it. People up north not used to it, yeah can be unnerving. Like when South Florida got snow. No one knew how to drive in it.

“This was the moment when the rise of the oceans began to slow”

Yet another obama promise reaches its expiration date.
