The death of ‘hope and change’: young skulls full of mush edition

Here is “Sing For Change,” Barack Obama propaganda video from 2008, featuring a heart-warming, inspirational performance by the children of a bunch of Hollywood liberals:

Fast-forward to 2012.  Here is “I’m Blaming You,” in which a group of children vow to hold their parents responsible if they destroy America by electing Mitt Romney:

After only four years, Hope and ChangeTM  has become ‘fear and manipulation.’

If one of the biggest advertising/propaganda firms in the nation can no longer figure out how to associate a vote for Barack Obama with joyful optimism, then who can?

    It’s called desperation.

The underlying premise is quite offensive, it’s the inmates in charge of the asylum. I see this in lots of advertising as well, the “smart kid” directing the parents. Parenting is dying skill-set and that is very sad.

When the f*ck did it become hip, cool, trendy, fashionable or plain ol’ acceptable to participate – TO HAVE ONE’S CHILDREN PARTICIPATE!!! – in a cult of personality??? Man, this is just creepy. Frankly, it smacks of Animal Farm, the Third Reich, Stalin’s USSR, and North Korea. What’s next? Will these morons start referring to Barry as Dear Leader or some such???

And how much are you willing to bet that these same wankers would have a fit of the vapors if anybody suggested that their kids recite the Pledge of Allegiance in school, or sing the National Anthem, or (shudder) pray to God?

Hey, Hollywood stars cut a video so they could pledge personal allegiance to obama. These people want a totalitarian state, run by a leftist dictator that will impose leftist ideology on America. No freedom, just shut up.

    • Commander_Chico_Cognoscente

Watched it a second time, yechhh.

There is no mention of Romney or Obama in the later ad..

It is a treacly “Vote” ad. Has a bit of an environmental/conservation message.

I guess you can see what you want in it, though. Is Romney in favor of killing off polar bears?

      • jim_m

Please. It doesn’t need to say “obama” when it gives a nauseatingly long list of left wing talking points. It’s full of enviro apocalyptic doom and gloom and it is blaming it all on people who vote against their green fascism.

        • Commander_Chico_Cognoscente

Yeah, but it’s hardly a “cult of personality” if you don’t mention the Dear Leader.

  • As a political ad, it makes me want to vote for the other guy. Are you sure they’re not a false-flag operation?

To go from a cheery “He’s gonna change the world!” to a dour “We’re gonna die if you don’t save us by voting for Obama” is something even the National Lampoon wouldn’t have done. (Primarily because it’s depressing, and they like humor.) (Huh – just checked, they went under in ’98. Wow…)

And if you watch their eyes – a lot of the time the majority of them aren’t looking at the lens.

Very, very creepy ad. I doubt it’s effective.

There is no joy in Muddville. The weight of $1.1 quadrillion of fraudulent debt has us too deep in the mud to even remember joy.

  • Commander_Chico_Cognoscente

Damn you for making me watch that. But does it mention Romney or Obama at all? I didn’t catch it. After all “endless wars on foreign shores” is what you get anyways.

Seemed like the message was just “vote.”

Sounded better it the original German

  • Zombified kids. Ick. I feel dirty and need to take a shower STAT.
