#Benghazi: Obama’s Lack of Concern On Rice’s Lies (Updated)

Weekly Standard has this article with video. Emphasis added is mine:

In response to a question from reporter Major Garrett on whether the Obama administration’s mishandling of Benghazi raises “core questions of basic competency,” press secretary Jay Carney revealed that Barack Obama “is not particularly concerned” about whether Susan Rice misled the American people:

“What the president is worried about, Major, is what happened and why in Benghazi. He is not particularly concerned about whether the ambassador or I went out and talked about the fact that we believed extremists might have been responsible. And whether we named them as al Qaeda or not does not–no, it certainly doesn’t have any bearing on what happened and who was responsible as that investigation was continuing on Benghazi.”

Mr. Carney, last week, the President barked like a junkyard dog in defense of Susan Rice.  The President stood at the podium and told us HE sent Rice out there.

Are you now telling us the President wants us to just blow off her lies? This after his own dramatic performance at his first press conference and the ridiculous trotting around by the Democratic women in the House crying racism and sexism?

It doesn’t have any bearing on the investigation? At what point do you people in the White House start to choke on your lies? This President knows exactly what happened there, he has since the beginning of the attack.  Rice was instructed to lie by someone. Obama sent her out there. You do the math.

UPDATE: Obama renews his defense; calls Rice “extraordinary”.   Yes, she’s  extraordinary alright…an extraordinary liar.

Jay Carney revealed that Barack Obama “is not particularly concerned” about whether Susan Rice misled the American people:

“Since when have you puppets in the media ever challenged us on our BS? Why should we be concerned when we know that you have our back no matter what we do?” Said Carney, incredulous that anyone other than Jake Tapper or Major Garret should ask a question of substance during his daily briefing.

  • 914

Barack’s pathology is so advanced he believe’s the yarn’s he spin’s become true when spoken through a minion.

  • Hugh_G

Bring out the watermelons!!!! Start shooten em up in the back yards!!!

    It’s Clintongate all over again!!!

I think this “Lady Liberty” lady has been hanging out with the Dissembler-in-Chief, aka “the hack” known as Huston. You attempt, not very cleverly by the way, to make it appear that Major Garrett said the word “misled”. I know I know you, not very cleverly, just made it kinda look that way.

You the hacks’s wife or just just really Huston trying to hide the usual bullshit lies?

    • 914

      “It’s Clintongate all over again!!!”

That was just about sex, intimidation and eventually perjury. This is about dereliction of duty which led to the deaths of four Americans (Not counting Fast/Furious ) and conspiracy to defraud the electorate… Further..

      Big difference.

      • Hugh_G

Well it might be. But not according to the wingnut media or this post.

I see you gratuitously tossed in another wing nut cause. Out of ideas and into blather.

        • 914

Out of ideas? Not hardly. How about impeachment for starters.

          • Hugh_G

If that weren’t so pathetic it’d almost be funny.

Bet you were hollering for impeachment when Bush ignored the warnings before 9/11. Oh yeah, never mind.

          • http://www.shockandblog.com/ Jay McHue

Holy shit, not that baseless nonsense again. The “warnings before 9/11″ were the same damn, generic warnings that were coming out all the time long before Bush. Pull your head out of your ass. Please. If only for your sake.

(I don’t like cursing, but “holy shit” was the only thing that fit and had enough emphasis.)

          • Hugh_G

Of course, or course Herr Bush had absolutely no responsibility for Rice sitting up in her office all worried about Russia (her specialty) and paying zero attention to terrorism. And the warnings were far from “generic.”To kinda paraphrase you: Pull your head out of Fox News’ and those wingnut blogs’ “ass.”

Herr Bush has no responsibility for anything in the glazed and dazed minds of the wingnut class. Except maybe destroying a country needlessly and destroying an economy needlessly. You wingnut folks would have liked to make room for him next to Ronald The Great on Mount Rushmore at one time. But afterward you all really stood up for him, didn’t you?

By the way I don’t mind cursing at all. You’re as full shit as
Lady Liberty”. (Is she some kind of super hero?)

          • http://www.shockandblog.com/ Jay McHue

Please show me exactly where intelligence said that there would be an attack orchestrated by Bin Laden on 9/11/01 that would target the World Trade Center, the Pentagon and the White House or Capitol Building.

By the way, Bush isn’t president anymore. Get over it. We couldn’t blame Clinton once Bush was president, so now you can’t blame Bush now that your messiah is president.

          • Hugh_G

Oh so history for a really bad President stops when he retires to cause he was in too much of a hurry to play with his toys inTexas? I see. You really are a true wingnut aren’t you?

As for your question, it’s moronic and sophomoric. Of course that very specific intelligence didn’t happen which of course means nothing. There was lots more-he couldn’t pay attention long enough because he was in too much of a hurry to go outside and pretend he was aTexas rancher-man.

Just so we’re clear here. You do agree that Bush sent the economy into the tank? You do agree that his girlfriend Condi lied about about weapons of mass destruction and the so-called aluminum tubes? You do agree he is responsible for the killing of hundreds oh thousands of civilians in Iraq? You do agree many hundreds of civilian contractors were killed in Iraq with nary no mention of that? You do agree that Colin Powell was sent to the UN to tell serial lies about Iraq? We won’t mention torture and the violations of citizens constitutional rights because you loved it?

Go back to couch and keep watching Fox and Leggy Blondes.

          • jim_m

Colin Powell was sent to the UN to tell serial lies about Iraq?

Name one lie that was not told by the Clinton admin to get Clinton his force authorization.

          • jim_m

Let’s just take Bill Clinton’s word for it when he said in 1998:

Iraq admitted, among other things, an offensive biological warfare capability, notably, 5,000 gallons of botulinum, which causes botulism; 2,000 gallons of anthrax; 25 biological-filled Scud warheads; and 157 aerial bombs. And I might say UNSCOM inspectors believe that Iraq has actually greatly understated its production….

Over the past few months, as [the weapons inspectors] have come closer and closer to rooting out Iraq’s remaining nuclear capacity, Saddam has undertaken yet another gambit to thwart their ambitions by imposing debilitating conditions on the inspectors and declaring key sites which have still not been inspected off limits….

It is obvious that there is an attempt here, based on the whole history of this operation since 1991, to protect whatever remains of his capacity to produce weapons of mass destruction, the missiles to deliver them, and the feed stocks necessary to produce them. The UNSCOM inspectors believe that Iraq still has stockpiles of chemical and biological munitions, a small force of Scud-type missiles, and the capacity to restart quickly its production program and build many, many more weapons….

Now, let’s imagine the future. What if he fails to comply and we fail to act, or we take some ambiguous third route, which gives him yet more opportunities to develop this program of weapons of mass destruction and continue to press for the release of the sanctions and continue to ignore the solemn commitments that he made? Well, he will conclude that the international community has lost its will. He will then conclude that he can go right on and do more to rebuild an arsenal of devastating destruction. And some day, some way, I guarantee you he’ll use the arsenal….

So there go all your lies about how Bush lied about WMD’s and Saddam’s refusal to come clean. To bad history shows that you are either ignorant or a liar. Personally, I choose to believe that you are both.

          • http://www.shockandblog.com/ Jay McHue

            I concur. He’s both.

          • http://www.shockandblog.com/ Jay McHue

Hey, don’t complain about “rules” YOUR SIDE made up when Clinton left office. Bush inherited a lot of crap from the Clinton Administration and when conservatives tried to point that out, liberals caterwauled “Clinton isn’t president any more!” So, conservatives stopped bringing up Clinton pretty quickly. It’s been nearly FOUR YEARS since GWB was president. Time to get over it, sparky. Everything is on Obama now. Has been for quite a while, actually.

“As for your question, it’s moronic and sophomoric. Of course that very specific intelligence didn’t happen which of course means nothing.”

So, in other words, I’m right. There were no intelligence warnings specifically linked to 9/11 and your entire premise that “Bush ignored the warnings” is utter b.s. Guess what, jackass — there were all sorts of generic warnings before the WTC was bombed under Clinton. Did you blame him for “ignoring the warnings?” Of course not. Why? Because these sorts of warnings go on probably literally every single day and it is utterly impossible to take every single one seriously and mobilize law enforcement to instantly address them all. If we could, every single federal building would probably be completely evacuated permanently.

So, tell me, nitwit — when are you going to call out Obumbler for all the time be spends pretending to be a golfer? Answer: never.

No, Bush didn’t send the economy into the tank. Democrats took over Congress in 2006.

No, Condi didn’t lie, unless, of course, you want to accuse a whole bunch of Democrats of lying, too.

No, I don’t deny that contractors were killed in Iraq. Lots of people were killed in Iraq: contractors, soldiers, Iraqis. That’s the nature of terrorists — they kill people. As for mentions, you’d better check your facts. Lots of mentions of these deaths, even on your hated Fox News. Oops.

Again, no, Powell didn’t lie about Iraq any more than Democrats lied about Iraq before and after January 20, 2001.

There was no torture of Americans or violation of their rights. Where do you get this b.s. from? Daily Kos? Michael Moore? HuffPo? Raw Story? Mother Jones? Democrat Underground? All of the above? Probably.

I don’t watch Fox News and “Legally Blonde” is a favorite film of lefties.

Considering Rice was one of the people who screwed up getting Bin Laden under Clinton… I’d choose more carefully what false comparisons I make.

          • Hugh_G

            This is according to Wikipedia?

Assuming it’s true, you do remember the one time wingnut hero George W Bush. How’d he do in Tora Bora and afterward?

            Sheesh.

        • http://twitter.com/LadyLiberty1885 LL1885

You seem to be ignoring that Rice has admitted she lied and that Obama sent her out to lie…and is now ‘not concerned about it’.

How does that not bother you?

          • Hugh_G

Because you statement is actually a lie. Ms Rice admitted she was wrong. That’s not a lie. Quit watching Fox News and you might know what the news really is.

    • http://twitter.com/LadyLiberty1885 LL1885

      1. Who is Huston?
      2. If the clip and transcript provided isn’t clear. I can’t help you.
      3. No matter how you cry, this isn’t going away.
      4. Insulting the author is the first sign your own argument is the one full of BS.

      Cheers! LL1885

      • Hugh_G

Well hang around here for a while and you’ll get the displeasure of reading dissembler-in-chief Huston.

It’s not that the clip isn’t clear, it’s intentionally misleading.

Not crying at all. Enjoying the fine afterglow of the election. The right has run out of ideas people care about so there’s nothing left to do except create false crisis’.

Then pretty much anything most of the wingnuts and some of the authors are full of BS.

        You have a nice day.

  • http://www.shockandblog.com/ Jay McHue

The thing with lies is that you invariably need to start piling more and more lies on to cover up the first lie. Eventually, you lose track and get hoisted by your own petard. We are seeing this in action in the Obumbler Administration right now.

    • http://twitter.com/LadyLiberty1885 LL1885

      Bingo.

  • herddog505

Barry is about as concerned about what Rice said as a married man would be when his buddy covered up for him about being on a fishing trip last weekend and NOT out drinking and chasing loose women.

    Post Updated this morning.

  • ackwired

I’m surprised that the R’s are focusing on Rice’s comments. It deflects attention from the overall Benghazi attack. If the attack was to free prisoners held by the CIA and the lies were a cover story to hide the fact that the CIA held prisoners there, that’s one thing. If the administration was covering it’s ineptitude that is something else. It seems that making the issue, “Rice lied and she should pay for it” deflects attention from the real question.

    • jim_m

I didn’t realize that Marco Rubio had switched parties. Then again, I understand the no one watches CNN because the left is under the delusion that it is conservative and the right is sick of its lefty bias.

  • 914

“Obama renews his defense; calls Rice “extraordinary”. Yes, she’s extraordinary alright…an extraordinary liar.”

Just like her mentor, the Pinocchio in chief.

    • jim_m

He’s got a funny notion of what extraordinary is. Now we find out that he is taking a 17 day vacation that means clearly that he has no intention of doing anything about the Fiscal Cliff since he will be gone for most of December until after the deadline passes.

Just as the recidivist treasonous lying looting thieving mass-murdering co-serial-rapist Missus and Mista Billy-Bubbah-Blythe’s (“Cli’ton”) every last lickspittle lapdog – @KirstenPowers -was and/or became complicit with and/or was an accessory after that RICO-racketeering organized-criminal “administration’s” serial and systemic capital and lesser treasons, high crimes and misdemeanors?

So is everyone similarly soiled who is psychopathologically-enthralled by and/or who is part of and/or that serves the gangster government currently be-squatting and be-manuring our 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue Public Housing Projects, is similarly be-fouling our senate or is slurping up the public-trough slops in the minority party’s sties, at the reps.

    • jim_m

Thanks for posting something that makes my most emotive comments seem milquetoast.

  • NMMNG

man, that was terrible when she told that lie about Iraq smuggling in nuclear weapon material that led to us sending thousands of our brave soldiers to die there unnessecarily…is that the Rice we’re talking about? Or had she already been denied her cabinet position and prosectued for being part of such an expansive, costly coverup?

Face the truth cons, the only thing you are trying to achieve from this non-troversy is to keep Rice from being SOS so Kerry will get the nod, freeing up the MA senate seat for Brown to try to get back into to…which wouldn’t happen anyway. That dude would lose the race to an alder stump at this point. So McCain and Graham can go up there spouting off about Rice with all their ridiculous rhetoric, taking levels of hypocrisy to completely new levels. What, do they not remember (KNOWINGLY) spreading lies on the sunday talk shows themselves just a short decade ago?

Just give up the charade already, there is important work to get done, and it’s time congressional R’s rolled up their sleeves and learn to do some actual work.
