VP Gaffemaster: ‘No Silver Bullet’ to Stop Gun Violence

This month’s busy work for Vice President “Sheriff” Joe Biden is his great gun control task force assigned him by his boss, Barack. Now that it is close to wrapping up, Biden has told us a bit about his progress and in his gaffetastic way he’s told us that there is “no silver bullet” to any gun-grabbing solutions.

After he met with the National Rifle Association, “Sheriff” Joe bellied up to the closest microphone and told his constituents in the press that “We know that there is no silver bullet” to stop gun violence.

Biden claimed that his meetings with the NRA was “productive,” though he did not elaborate upon what that meant.

For its part, the NRA thought that Biden and his gun control crew didn’t really listen to a thing they said. The NRA told the Old Media establishment that it was “disappointed with how little this meeting had to do with keeping our children safe and how much it had to do with an agenda to attack the Second Amendment.”

Why, it’s almost like President Obama had a preconceived notion about this “task force” and ordered Biden to figure out some way, any way, to perpetrate as much gun-grabbing as possible despite what some folks might say about it all, eh?

But our VP sure knows just what to say, doesn’t he?

Who else but Joe Biden would be able to get away with using the term “silver bullet” when talking about gun violence? You can tell Biden isn’t a Republican, anyway.’

Is Biden hunting Vampires? Or does he think he’s the Long Ranger? All the gatherings of anyone he could think of was just a horse and pony show for the News Media. Biden will come out tomorrow and claim the NRA and other gun organizations are in agreement with him. Like Obama it will be total bullshit from the jackasses mouth. But of course the media will try to make it look like its what the people want. I wonder how many armed guards Biden has around him wherever he goes. If he really believe in disarming, then why doesn’t he start with his security guards.

Shhhhhhhh! Word on the Beltway is that Sheriff Joe was given this commission in order to bolster his bonofides for a presidential run in 2016.

You can’t make this stuff up! Joey’s only problem is that he keeps opening his mouth.

No silver bullet, but a slew of unconstitutional executive orders intended to circumvent Congress and violate our Constitutional rights.

The executive actions could include giving the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention authority to conduct national research on guns, more aggressive enforcement of existing gun laws and pushing for wider sharing of existing gun databases among federal and state agencies, members of Congress in the meeting said.

…The White House declined to comment on the details of what Obama will propose. But Biden did indicate that the remains of the Obama campaign apparatus may be activated in the effort.

In other words they know that what they are proposing will be unconstitutional so they are going to try to whip up a media frenzy to cover up that fact. They will be counting on their ability to demagogue the issue to overwhelm opposition. Welcome to the beginning of mob rule in America and the beginning of a perpetual dictatorship.

Actually, more aggressive enforcement of existing laws is not unconstitutional and it should be used rather than writing new laws that prosecutors will not enforce.
Also, requiring federal agencies to talk to each other and share information is not illegal or unconstitutional either. However, it would require cooperation from the states to get the states and feds to talk to each other as Obama can’t command the states.
Also conducting research on gun use is not unconstitutional either.

So long as the executive orders are as toothless as what was described above, I really don’t have a problem with it.

Now, if the EOs do things like not allowing BATF to approve new gun sellers or require them to “slow walk” applications etc, then that IS a major problem and is unconstitutional.

      • jim_m

Not to put too fine a point on it but you don’t need an executive order to enforce existing law. The examples cited were not from the government but from the journalist’s speculation.

As for sharing gun databases what are they? Previously, the BATF has been cited for not destroying background check info.

And yes, obama could turn all background checks into defacto 10 day waiting periods. That would be an abuse of power. He could move the BATF to find reasons to revoke import licenses, or order Customs to block importation and impound imports. He could order IRS investigations of gun manufacturers and ammunition suppliers. He could order BS charges like he did against Gibson Guitar costing manufacturers millions. He could order BATF to stop renewal of FFL’s.

The man has no respect for the Constitution or civil rights.

I don’t even think a silver bullet or a wooden stake would thwart the blood sucking freaks in the White House from pushing their socialist pedal to the floor.

We’re expected to show appropriate concern over the grievous position our “betters” in Washington find themselves in – they can’t find a condom’s worth of cover on the issue of birth control, there is no blank check on the debt ceiling, they have been unable to find a cool response on the problem of global warming and they have run out of bullets when it comes to new ideas to deal with the issue of violence in our society. It cuts like a knife.

Maybe they should follow Canada’s lead and just begin writing laws to cover our future interactions with sex-bots instead… or does the VP think they’d screw that up too?

  • Wild_Willie

How about Obama saying “Congress can’t hold a gun to the head of the American people.” These people are nitwits. ww

Firearms very low on the list of worries, according to Gallup.

    http://www.gallup.com/poll/159830/debt-gov-dysfunction-rise-top-americans-issue-list.aspx

To hear Obama, there’s nothing more important. Not the economy, not the deficit (or the national debt), not unemployment… and CERTAINLY not ‘dissatisfaction with government’ – the 4 top concerns, grabbing 75% of the responses.

Don’t you just LOVE it when politicians work so hard to misdirect national attention?

    Don’t you wonder just why?

BTW, anyone else having some trouble with the ‘My Disqus’ notifications?

    • jim_m

definitely. They don’t want us talking about how the debt has gone up 60% in the last 4 years.

And yes, I get notified that there is a response to a comment but I cannot see what it is. It’s Disqus as it happens everywhere Disqus is used and not just Wizbang.

Meanwhile I’m wondering when they are going to fix the Blog View tag at the top of the page to direct you to this year’s posts and not last years.

      • http://www.rustedsky.net JLawson

Okay, so Disqus is slightly busted. Oh, well.

          Seems to be working now…

    • jim_m

Of course the fact that the country doesn’t want more gun control won’t stop obama from announcing his 19 executive orders tomorrow. He plans to surround himself with human shields, er, punishments er, children for the announcement.

      • http://www.rustedsky.net JLawson

Sigh. It’s all about the emotions. Let’s get the kids up there, just like he got the white-coated doctors for Obamacare.

To hell with reason, to hell with whether it’s a good idea or not, or whether it’ll even produce anything remotely resembling the intended results. Let’s just look like we’re ‘doing something’ about guns.

      • retired.military

19 executive orders = throw everything you can against the wall and see what will stick. Do each item seperately so one wont invalidate another when it is found to be bullshit. Also it makes it look like the dems are doing sooo much. 19 orders oh my. Look how much they care.

  • retired.military

Some on the left are pushing for Biden to run in 2016. Please please do it. THe elite republicans couldnt possibly mess that one up.

  • retired.military

The funny thing is if an illegal alien gets caught with an illegal gun than the dems wont have a clue what to do .
