Chris Matthews On Obama’s SOTU: ‘There’s Nothing Lefty in Here!’

President Obama’s State of the Union speech was yet another opportunity to demand a new laundry list of big government programs and massive spending, but MSNBC’s Chris Matthews seemed to have some trouble seeing anything “liberal” in it.

As he analyzed the speech during his February 13 broadcast, Matthews told Chuck Todd that he truly couldn’t see any leftiness. “There’s nothing lefty in here. What’s the left-wing part? Objectively, was there a left wing piece to this speech last night? I mean, truly left? I didn’t see it,” he said.

Still, even in his denial a bit of truth broke through Matthews’ partisanship. “I mean, basically, he was moving the ball maybe one foot to the left of the midfield,” Matthews admitted.

In his speech, the President proposed hiking the minimum wage, a long-time liberal goal, called for even more spending on education and infrastructure, a sop to unions, tax hikes, gun control, “green energy” programs galore. What wasn’t liberal in the President’s speech?

#BENGHAZI: Obama Did Nothing

Tingles wouldn’t know left wing if it bit him on the ass. Probably because of all that tingling.

No, no bias view there. Just crissy’s disorder making him look the idiot again.

This is an excellent example of partisan blindness, of how one person’s “normal” is another’s “radical”.

To Matthews and a lot of other lefties, minimum wage hikes, “investments”, gun control, etc. are perfectly reasonable, normal, sensible policy goals that only a partisan conservative, blinded by RAAAAACISM due to the president’s skin color,
    would find objectionable.

The two sides simply don’t see the world in the same way: the grass really IS a different color on the two planets.

As an aside to how differently the two sides see things, here is Rick Perry making a pitch to California businesses:

One can conclude, if businesses see merit to moving to a red state or even a right to work state, then wouldn’t the “47%” see merit to moving to a blue state? Of course that’s already happened to California, but to take it one step farther, wouldn’t criminals flourish in blue states? After all, gun control is at it’s maximum and there are fewer gun owners in blue states.

The scary thing for Texas is that many if not most of those new Texans don’t understand the connection between their politics and what happened to California. They’ll try to do the exact same thing in Texas.

        They’ll try to Californicate it!
