VIDEO: Sen. Dianne Feinstein Lies in Senate Gun-Ban Hearing

Senator Dianne Feinstein (D, CA) lied outright in a recent hearing in the Senate Judiciary Committee as she advocated for her anti-Constitutional gun-ban bill when she said that it is “legal to hunt humans” with large capacity ammunition magazines.

This is why Feinstein and all like her are clowns…

These anti-American, anti-Constitutionalists are little else but ignorant fear merchants.

“It’s legal to hunt humans with 30 round magazines!”

Sounds great. Where do I pick up my license? This certainly explains a lot about the murder rate in dem controlled cities.

    • herddog505

      I prefer a good double rifle, myself…

  • Brucehenry

Hilarious that a guy who claims two boys being rude and disruptive to a charlatan is an “attack on a church meeting,” a guy who claims that working for Al Jazeera makes one a “traitor,” a guy who freaking (and I know I said I’d drop this, but come ON) said that Dan Savage was “Obama’s Bullying Czar,” just DOESN’T GET hyperbole — when others use it.

    • LiberalNightmare

Does hyperbole come in 10 round clips? ’cause I dont want to get in trouble in NY.

      • Brucehenry

        Gud wun

    • herddog505

Stating that it’s legal to hunt human being with high cap magazines is “hyperbole”? Sounds like scare-mongering to me… or imbecility.

Let’s just say that Jonathan Swift, she ain’t.

      • Brucehenry

        But Warner IS?

        • herddog505

I don’t say so. But, really, is THIS the sort of thing we expect from a member of The World’s Greatest Deliberative Body? Running about claiming that people in our countrry are hunting each other with high cap weapons?

          • Brucehenry

Well, as you say, She’s no Swift. I admit that.

But it’s hilarious that Warner and “Publius Forums” call this Senator a “liar” for engaging in the kind of scare-mongering analogizing Warner does EVERY DAY here on Wizbang.

Feinstein knows it’s illegal to hunt humans, just as Warner knows Dan Savage isn’t the czar of anything, TV reporters aren’t traitors, and teenaged Muslims didn’t “attack a church meeting.”

And if you look at the record, it’s hardly unusual for Senators to say stupid shit, is it? Senators say dumb stuff all the time.

As for Jim’s contention that it’s OK for you or I (or, I suppose, Warner) to engage in hyperbole, but not a Senator, I don’t see it.

And, while I didn’t watch the hearing, I’m going to go out on a limb and guess that she went on to say a few words that may have given her hyperbolic remark a little context. What do you think?

          • herddog505

I agree that it’s not correct to say that DiFi was “lying” here: either she was engaging in some over-the-top hyperbole or else is so blasted stupid that she honestly believes that those of us who have a passion for the shooting sports really DO hunt other people. Either way, not lying.

As for context… maybe, maybe not. Politicians are not generally known for their calm, measured words, so it wouldn’t surprise me too much to know that she went on to claim that NRA members not only hunt human being, but then eat what they kill.

I wish that our political class was a bit more… um… classy? Thoughtful? Not idiotic?… but I suppose that we’re stuck with what we have.

          • jim_m

            Seriously?

You don’t draw any distinction between a US Senator describing the need for her legislation and a man on the street commenting about the same?

I would say that a US Senator representing the need for new laws to the public is held to a higher standard of exactitude than either the media or a political commentator. Hyperbole is out of place here. Using what is a gross misrepresentation and distortion of the truth in order to advance an assault on the constitutional rights of the public is wrong. I’m sorry (but not in the least surprised) that you cannot see that.

          • Brucehenry

            If you say so.

          • jim_m

I see you concede the point.

        • jim_m

Herd is right on this one. A lawmaker, speaking about what the law should be, does not have the latitude to describe the reason her law should be passed by lying about the issue. While for you or I this would correctly be considered hyperbole, for a Senator describing her legislation it is an outright lie.

        • MartinLandauCalrissian

Notice how Broosie holds Warner to higher standards than he does a US Senator. Gee why do you think that is? Oh, right. Because Broosie s an extremist left-winger trying desperately to excuse an extremist left-wing “Senator.” That and he’s very stupid.

As opposed to Marty here, who is manifestly a genius.

Everyone is …manifestly a genius. when compared to you. Including Maxine Waters.

          • Brucehenry

            Thanks, Mr Moderator!

You are more than welcome, Mr. Henry. Would you like another?

  • GarandFan

You didn’t really expect a straight-forward, RATIONAL discussion from Lady Di, did you? She wants to leave the Senate with her LEGACY secured. A permanent ban on weapons with no definition…other than what a politician says it is at any particular moment in time.

    • jim_m

It’s just so hard to make a lasting impression on the world by being good. But people like Levrenti Beria, now they get remembered. The dems know that the best way to have a legacy that is remembered for all time is to do serious damage to the rights of everyone who follows.

To be remembered for doing good you have to be really spectacularly good (Mother Theresa for instance), but to be remembered for evil is astonishingly easy for people without scruple. And “without scruple” is the defining characteristic of the left.

I wonder how she feels about droning Americans for sport? Her president has what? Couple thousand ready to go at his whim.

Scary stuff. Between her, bloomberg, kerry and that Dronefinger in the White House. You are in danger of losing IQ points just listening to them.

    • jim_m

The President can hunt Americans for sport as long as he has fewer than 10 missiles on any given drone. Dick Durbin has affirmed this right.

  • puhiawa

She is as senile as Pelosi.

  • Brian_R_Allen

…. Feinstein and every other of her ilk is a bloody clown ….

How eerie is it that one has to look to Brezhnev’s Soviet Union and or among the malevolent minions of the world’s most prolific-ever mass murderer AND child rapist Mr Mao Tze Tung, to find apparatchiks and/or the usefully idiotic as old as are such decrepit degenerates as Comrades Fineschwein and McCainiac?
