Office of Congressional Ethics Investigating Michele Bachmann

Fox News has confirmed a report by The Daily Beast that the Office of Congressional Ethics is investigating Republican congresswoman Michele Bachmann’s 2012 presidential campaign.

Here is an excerpt from the latter’s report.

Former staffers tell The Daily Beast that investigators have allegedly asked about allegations of improper transfer of funds and under-the-table payments actions by Bachmann’s presidential campaign, specifically in relation to the campaign’s national political director, Guy Short, and Bachmann’s onetime Iowa campaign chairman, state Sen. Kent Sorenson. Questions directly about Bachmann, they said, have been primarily focused on what she knew about those men’s actions and when she knew it.

It would be interesting to compare the speed of this investigation against the speed of the various ethics violations against Democrats, which usually can be counted in years. Also, don’t forget that the Democrats like to play dirty tricks during ethics cases involving Republicans. Remember, when Boehner’s cell phone was illegally tapped, recorded and leaked as a political dirty trick against Newt Gingrich during his ethics case?

With liberals, it’s usually about the sex. With conservatives, it’s usually about the money.

With Bachmann, it’s about the corndogs.

There’s just no graceful way to eat one of those…

Nice…now you got one where Pelosi is eating a small white mouse?

    1. Full investigation

    2. Let the chips fall where they may, and let the full weight of the law fall upon the guilty (if any)

I guess Bachmann is an easy target because it would be hard to find a more stupid person in Congress. I guess when a representative is unable to fact check their own speeches or make coherent proposals that compliance with existing regulations is too much to ask.

    • jim_m

Yeah, because she’s never said anything as stupid as Hank “Guam is in danger of capsizing” Johnson.

      You’re a moron.

    • Wild_Willie

Or Shelia Jackson Lee who made a speech about the ‘vunnable’ people. Or Pelosi ‘you have to vote on it before you can read it.’ Or Maxine Waters ‘if the sequester comes, 170 million jobs will be lost.’
Bachman has a license to practice law and actually was a tax attorney for a number of years, yet YOU think she is stupid? Well, stupid is what stupid sees. ww

Reps Lee and Water now that no one in the media will ever fact-check what they say. Speaker Pelosi knows that conservative media outlets like Fox are too lazy to fact check what she says. The left knows to avoid mentioning that the CBC exist and the right is too lazy to fact check any Democrat. However, even though Rep. Bachmann and her staff know that everything she says in public will be reviewed, severely fact-checked, and discussed on cable networks like MSNBC and on dozens of websites, Rep. Bachmann and her staff refuse to do the grunt work of being certain of their facts.

It was very predictable that someone who cannot be bothered to check their references is going to be good at following campaign finance regulations.

Conservative politics would be better off if Rep. Bachmann would crawl under a rock and never come out again.

“I guess Bachmann is an easy target because it would be hard to find a more stupid person in Congress.”

No, not that hard at all.

I guess it is too much to ask for you to grammar check or even make coherent comments.
