Miss Alabama 2013 Proves American Freedom is Dying

Mary Margaret McCord, the dull witted “beauty queen” from Alabama, said during the 2013 Miss USA contest that she’d trade freedom and liberty for safety. This empty-headed twit proves that the liberals have won. We have lost our freedom if people care so little about it that they would trade liberty and freedom for government-sponsored “security.” Our system of mis-education, an edifice so infested with liberals, did this to us all. The liberals are killing America. But conservatives are also at fault here. They are at fault for allowing our educational system to be taken over by the anti-American, hardcore left.

This Ben Franklin axiom is obviously no longer taught in our schools:

“Those who would give up Essential Liberty to purchase a little Temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety.”

“dull witted “beauty queen” Isn’t that somewhat redundant?

    • shamsky24

      Sarah Palin says hi.

Bill Maher says your a retard.

  • jim_m

This is the leftist message. Trade freedom from security and safety that will be guaranteed by the government. And we can be sure that the government will take care of us because governments are always good and have never crowded people into concentration camps or marched people into the countryside and murdered them.

I would consign them all to their fate if they weren’t certain to drag the rest of us down with them.

  • Vagabond661

The wild applause at the end of her statement sealed their utter lack of knowledge. The “Idol (idle)” Generation is lost. Let’s hope their kids are smarter because their kids are the ones who have to pay the bills.

    • jim_m

I don”t know if I’d go that far. There is a not insignificant number of people that watch these shows like people watch NASCAR looking for accidents to happen. Listening to the question responses is a lot like watching a car crash.

  • Brucehenry

I read somewhere she was home-schooled by fundamentalist parents.

Nah, just screwin’ with ya, I didn’t really read that. But where DID she go to school? DID she go to public school or was it at one of the “Christian Academies” so ubiquitous throughout the South?

    • jim_m

You can’t teach stupid. Either you have it or you don’t.

    • Wild_Willie

Learning to think is probably one of the greatest gifts you can get from an educator. It is obvious she has never been challenged to defend her assumptions as I was so many years ago in high school. She lacks critical thinking skills as well as deductive reasoning. Occasionally I come across a young adult that just impresses me with their thought process whether left or right, but mostly I think our country is still going down the hill to ruin ever so steadily. ww

  • Commander_Chico

At least 80% of women will trade freedom for security.

That’s why they get on their backs for conquerors.

  • Par4Course

From a lack of education, an inability to think clearly or stage fright (or some combo of the three), this girl just couldn’t construct a coherent response to the question. It’s too bad the Miss USA competition can’t weed out those who can’t think and speak clearly before the final round. The thundering applause is also troubling. If those folks thought she answered well or appropriately, no wonder our country is such a mess.

Intelligence has never been one of the “assets” that makes a winner of these contests.

At least not Miss USA. Miss America, maybe a little.

  • deltamary

Bet her folks are proud of her— HAHA- She’s right up there with the “Map Girl” from S.Carolina…

  • Hank_M

I’m reminded of the essay I read a while back…

On Sheep, Wolves, and Sheepdogs – by LTC (ret) Dave Grossman

McCord is a sheep, a product of a liberal education and what the left strives to be.

    • Brucehenry

Again, how do you guys know she wasn’t educated in one of those “Christian academies” that sprout like mushrooms all over Southern suburbia?

And even if she WAS educated in public schools, I doubt you’ll find a hell of a lot of “leftists” teaching in Alabama. And the University of Alabama ain’t Berkeley.

      • jim_m

And the University of Alabama ain’t Berkeley.

Nope. Most Berkeley professors don’t go around murdering their colleagues. Amy Bishop from UA Huntsville murdered her colleagues, murdered her brother and her dem parents covered the latter up in Massachusetts because connected dems never get punished for their crimes. Bishop was an obama lunatic.

Once again we see that Bruce’s view of reality runs contrary to what the fact actually are. Perhaps you should try to find out some facts before spouting more ignorance. But then, as I have remarked previously, facts don’t really matter as long as you have your lefty ideology to tell you what the “truth” is supposed to be.

        • Brucehenry

          Unfucking real, dude.

One, I don’t know what the facts are regarding Miss McCord’s education, and neither do you. We got guys squawking about liberal public school education and we don’t even know for sure the girl WENT to oublic school.

Second, Alabama is not a hotbed of liberalism ANYWHERE, in the public schools or anywhere else. Teachers aren’t unionized either, by the way.

Third, UA-Huntsville is not the same school as the University of Alabama flagship school, in Tuscaloosa.

Fourth, Amy Bishop is apparently insane. That can happen to anyone, left or right or apolitical.

Fifth, what I have done here is not to “spout” anything. I’ve asked you morons, who keep telling me that this girl’s response to the question asked her was formed by liberal public schooling, if you’re sure that she WAS an attendee of public schools.

          • jim_m

You made the bullshit claim that ALL southern schools were hotbeds of conservatism. I simply pointed out that Univ of Alabama Huntsville professor Amy Bishop was a left wing lunatic. The fact that leftism and insanity have a significant overlap is not my responsibility.

Now you try to walk back your claim to being U of Alabama specifically. Whatever. I have not made any claims about this bimbo’s education and I made my point that stupid does not necessarily come from education. Heck, you’re a good example of that truth.

Fact of the matter is that regardless of where you are in academia the university faculty runs far to the left of society. Even in Alabama.

          • Commander_Chico

Let’s not forget U Texas, U Iowa, Virginia Tech, U. California Riverside and U. Colorado, all of those institutions and their liberalism are responsible for those shootings of course.

If we had no universities we would have no university shootings, becuz there would be no librul professors.

          • Brucehenry

Since when does “I doubt you’ll find a hell of a lot of ‘leftists’ teaching in Alabama” mean “all Southern schools are hotbeds of conservatism”?

So I didn’t make any “bullshit claim” at all. You did,

This whole article is about how liberal public school teachers supposedly turned this girl into a sheep, like you claim “the left” wants. I have pointed out that we don’t even know if this girl WAS taught in the public schools, or was home-schooled, or was an attendee at a “Christian academy.” Do you know?

If you want to think the University of Alabama is a “hotbed” of liberalism, go ahead, lol.

          • soljerblue

Teachers ARE unionized in Alabama, Brucie — it’s called the Alabama Education Association and it has had a political headlock on the state legislature for years. That grip is only now being pried open by the overwhelming Republican majority that was elected in 2010. I hope you don’t live in Alabama. We are really trying to weed out the stupid progressives and go-along Democrats who have screwed this state over since the 1870s. We don’t need more airheads here, including you.

          • Commander_Chico

            Cue “Sweet Home Alabama.”

          • Brucehenry

My mistake, then. I assumed the Alabama Education Association was like the North Carolina Association of Educators — a formerly somewhat influential institution (not a union) that is the closest thing to a union teachers have. It’s legally forbidden to call strikes, though, and a union that can’t strike is no union at all.
