Global Warming ‘Experts’ Admit: We Lied

A leaked copy of a UN report on global warming says that scientist’s claims that global warming was going to destroy us were drastically wrong.

The Daily Mail reports that in 2007 the UN Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) claimed that the planet was going to rise 0.2 Celsius every decade, a claim that governments and scientists all across the world have relied on to make their own determinations.

But now the new report says that the climate only warmed at .12 C per decades since 1951, a rate far, far below what everyone was told.

The new report also notes that scientists had to admit that their forecasts were wildly out of sync with the truth.

Some of the findings that the report contains are as follows:

  • They recognize the global warming ‘pause’ first reported by The Mail on Sunday last year is real – and concede that their computer models did not predict it. But they cannot explain why world average temperatures have not shown any statistically significant increase since 1997.
  • They admit large parts of the world were as warm as they are now for decades at a time between 950 and 1250 AD – centuries before the Industrial Revolution, and when the population and CO2 levels were both much lower.
  • The IPCC admits that while computer models forecast a decline in Antarctic sea ice, it has actually grown to a new record high. Again, the IPCC cannot say why.

Further, these UN scientists now acknowledge that there has, indeed, been a “pause” in rising temperatures, just as so many have said.

  • A forecast in the 2007 report that hurricanes would become more intense has simply been dropped, without mention.

And yet, even though the new report admits so many errors, these so-called scientists still pack their paper with apocalyptic scenarios about how global warming is still going to kill us all.

This on top of the fact that the Arctic ice sheet has grown despite folks like Al Gore that said by now all the ice should have melted.

This is why we call the “theory” of global warming globaloney.

The relative relationship of the Sun to the Earth means how warm or cool the earth will be, yet these global warming types have continued to advance their unscientific views that mankind’s level of development can somehow impact the Earth’s warming level. There are of course some industrial chemicals that can damage things like the ozone layer allowing some damaging Sun rays through, however many companies have switched to more ozone friendly chemicals to protect this layer of atmospheric protection.

    • Vagabond661

I read somewhere that volcanic eruptions cause the most problems with climate change. Man has little effect.

      • jim_m

Cue Steve Crockmore to come in and explain that volcanic activity is directly linked to human industrial output.

        • http://wizbangblog.com/author/rodney-graves/ Rodney G. Graves

          Crockmore, Crampless…

Actually, the correlation (allowing for lag time) between solar activity and observed warming and cooling is noteworthy as well, especially in this solar cycle and the last two.

          • jim_m

That was actually a typo but it is just so fitting…

          • 914

I used to call him that with no typo. But he don’t come around here no more.

          • jim_m

Usually a good AGW thread will draw him out form under the rock.

          • 914

Yes, this is true. He is the quintessential authority on Gorbal climatology..

          • iwogisdead

            Crockmoreisdead.

      • Paul Hooson

Indeed Vagabond, man does have little effect on his environment. I once heard a story from a minister that man thinking he has any impact on things is like a man holding his thumb against the sky thinking that he can challenge or stop God. Man gives himself way too much credit when he believes that he can really impact his environment all that much or really damage the Earth beyond any ability of nature to repair things.

        • Bp

You need science in your life.

    • Retired military

That is your bud Obama and his cronies. Not conservatives spouting that crap.

      • Paul Hooson

I’m actually highly critical of many of the environmental policies advanced by many democrats, so I don’t understand why I’m somehow responsible for and or support these policies according to your claim here. You have the wrong guy here to blame.

  • Hank_M

The only consensus that actually existed about “Global Warming” was about how much money there was to be made from it.

    • Vagabond661

And how much control the government can impose on its loyal subjects.

  • GarandFan

AGW isn’t “science”. It’s a religion founded on faith. Observable “facts” don’t matter. A consensus of idiots has been reached. All Hail The Goracle!

One of the IPPC idiots made a comment to the affect ‘Well even if it won’t change anything, won’t we be better off in the long run implementing our agenda?”

Let’s see, do I really want to spend $100 million dollars to insure a $20,000 car?

Too bad the eco-idiots, like lemmings, can’t find a cliff to jump off.

    • Walter_Cronanty

I believe this is the quote you’re referring to – EU Climate Commissioner, Connie Hedegaard: “Let’s say that science, some decades from now, said ‘we were wrong, it was not about climate’, would it not in any case have been good to do many of things you have to do in order to combat climate change?”
Of course, other alarmists have stated similar thoughts – Former Canadian Minister of the Environment, Christine Stewart: “No matter if the science is all phoney, there are collateral environmental benefits” — “Climate change (provides) the greatest chance to bring about justice and equality in the world”
And, the grand daddy of all alarmists’ admissions, it’s all about wealth redistribution – German economist and IPCC official Ottmar Edenhofer: “First of all, developed countries have basically expropriated the atmosphere of the world community. But one must say clearly that we redistribute de facto the world’s wealth by climate policy. Obviously, the owners of coal and oil will not be enthusiastic about this. One has to free oneself from the illusion that international climate policy is environmental policy.”

      • Hank_M

        Pretty revealing quotes, Walter.
Shows the depths these people will go to to further their agenda’s.

  • EricSteel

Actually, I expect that we will hear them claim victory and immediately warn of the dangers of global cooling, which coincidentally will be caused by fossil fuels and SUVs.

  • Tregonsee

Would somebody PLEASE look up the definition of “lie” in the dictionary? The misuse of the word seems to have really become common in the Bush years, ie ‘Bush lied…..” Delusional, deranged, demented, maybe.

    • Vagabond661

      Definition of LIE
      intransitive verb
      1
: to make an untrue statement with intent to deceive
      2
: to create a false or misleading impression
      Bingo.
      http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/lie

      • http://wizbangblog.com/author/rodney-graves/ Rodney G. Graves

Both of which require intent to deceive.

        Bingo.

    • warnertoddhuston

You are simply wrong to say that these globaloneyists are not lying. They’ve known for a long time that they have been wrong but they keep pushing the lies.

    • Walter_Cronanty

Does this fit your definition of “lie”? Stanford University Professor
Steven Schneider, and author/co-author of IPCC papers:”…we need to get some broad based support, to capture the public’s imagination…. So we have to offer up scary scenarios, make simplified, dramatic statements and make little mention of any doubts…. Each of us has to decide what the right balance is between being effective and being honest.”

When is Albert expected to return all the money he has swindled + 100% interest on it?

When hell freeze’s over perhaps? Well that may be soon seeing how fast the ice is growing.

    • Hank_M

Now now. Leave Al out of this. He’s never recovered from losing to W and has consistently shown a detachment from reality ever since.

      • 914

I guess i should give him a pass.. After all America passed on him in 2000 so I will to.

  • LiberalNightmare

You guys dont get it, We beat global warming! All of those carbon credits and priuses saved the day!

    • 914

Yeah, but we kinda overdid it. Now the ice sheet is growing so fast we are going to have to pray Fukushima melts it and saves us all !!

      • http://www.rustedsky.net JLawson

Larry Niven’s book “Fallen Angels” discussed that. The greens did too good a job, and a sudden ice age hit. Of course, just because it’s cold doesn’t mean you can mess with Mother Gaia – and the US maintains severe anti-pollution practices…

  • Lawrence Westlake

Keep in mind, however, that these same waste cases are teaching our kids. Afer all it’s not a coincidence that the unemployment and underemployment rates for Millennials are stratospheric. In any case, concerning this faux science itself, it’ll continue basically unabated, regardless of any facts to the contrary. For the hard left the nonsense of “global warming” became a de facto blind religion.

  • 914

If it was just “You Lie!!” We could overlook it!! lol

  • mikehaseler

Not long ago people like those who write this IPCC report were suggesting that sceptics who “denied” the climate was warming should be put into concentration camp, tattooed and some even asked when they should they start exterminating us.

A UK government minister likened us to Hitler, the BBC likened us to paedophiles** and all because we said the climate is not warming as fast as they said and we could see no evidence suggesting climate doomsday.

Now the IPCC are beginning to say the kinds of things which just a few years ago would have had them tattooed, marched into concentration camps and exterminated with BBC presenters & UK government ministers cheering on.

(For a fuller list see: http://scottishsceptic.wordpress.com/2013/09/14/climate-scientists-are-nazi-paedophiles/)

**Particularly ironic as since then a number of high profile BBC
presenters have been found to be paedophiles and/or charged with sexual
    offences.

So how many billions have been spent on alternative energy? How many countries have basically kicked themselves in the economic nuts to chase the ‘green fairy’, so to speak?
(Yeah, I know it’s a reference to absinthe, but the jerks got drunk on OUR dime doing this garbage…)

    • jim_m

Many, many of those ‘jerks’ were nothing more than con artists looking to make a buck off of the ignorant. You can put people like Al Gore, Terry McAuliffe and all the obama donors who got green energy grants at the top of that list.

      • http://www.rustedsky.net JLawson

I’m trying to watch my language – my teenage son said it was getting a bit much, lol…

No, I was pretty sure Gore was a grifter from the first days of ‘OMG, global warming!’ – anyone pushing a ‘problem’ that just happens to have as a solution the purchase of indulgences from his church – I mean carbon credits from his company – needs to be looked at hard.

Then when the emphasis wasn’t on showing proof but proclaiming “THE SCIENCE IS SETTLED!!1!”, and the people pushing the results of the models didn’t want their data sets examined and their programs looked at, something really didn’t seem right.

Now we’re cooling, almost like it was a natural cycle controlled by the sun or something.

Countries spent billions upon billions to maybe shave off a small fraction of a degree rise that might maybe possibly be apparent in fifty or sixty years… when the overall ecology of this planet goes through daily and seasonal swings that totally dwarf anything that the models predicted might happen.

I wonder how long it’ll be until the strident AGW folks just try to pretend like they never even heard of the concept?

        • Hank_M

“I wonder how long it’ll be until the strident AGW folks just try to pretend like they never even heard of the concept?”

About as long as it takes them to hook onto something else that allows them to dictate how people live.
And if I were a betting man, I’d bet on health care, the dietary aspect of it.

No proven data on Global Warming. . . it’s a government money & power grab. No proven data America needs Obamacare, this too is a money & power grab, evil as hell by the Commie Regime. GRRRRRRRRRRR
