Obamacare Website ‘Marketplace’ Violates Federal Security Laws

It appears that the Obamacare websites are violating federal laws that require that the personal information of visitors remain safe from hackers and identity thieves, a new report says.

The 2002 law in question is called the Federal Information Security Management Act (FISMA), and it demands that federal websites must be secure and to assure that level of security the websites are supposed to undergo mandated testing procedures. But Obama has simply ignored all those tests, skipping them entirely with his Obamacare websites.

As Charles Johnson writes, federal websites are awarded an “authority to operate” certificate, or an ATO, after these tests are performed to assure security.

“But according to CMS’s 2014 budget request,” Johnson writes, “no such security assessment took place. The Federal Healthcare Marketplace website was rolled out without full end-to-end testing.”

To satisfy FISMA, federal agencies are required to: “develop, document, and implement an agency-wide program to provide information security for the information and information systems that support the operations and assets of the agency, including those provided or managed by another agency, contractor, or other source.”

But it appears that the Obamacare websites simply ignored all these laws and requirements. In other words, the President’s Obamacare marketplace websites are violating the law.

This also means that all your personal information is completely insecure. Anyone with moderate hacking skills should be able to steal your personal information and Obama has made no effort at all to stop them.

What do you think of this breach of the law?

Hmmmph. I don’t know about this Daily Caller story you’re accepting as Gospel, but what do you think about this one?

Just another load of crap from a morally bankrupt administration that will spin any lie to avoid being caught in their incompetence and corruption.

What it really is, is just another claim by the obama admin that they are not to be held accountable for any of their actions, the constitution be damned

[edit] what really astonishes me is the rank hypocrisy from the left that allows this self proclaimed, “most transparent administration ever” to refuse to allow any view into its operations and what t has been doing.

Leftists like Bruce laugh and giggle at the idea that this supremely ethical admin is in fact one of the most corrupt ever and is flouting the idea that anyone should be able to confront them and demand an explanation for their actions. Yeah, the left thinks that corruption and creeping fascism is a barrel of laughs.

Oh yeah – politico is reliable.

Well, I admit it’s no Daily Caller, LOL.

You’re right because the DC is not unethically giving special editorial bias in favor of advertisers.

Late last month Washington Post media reporter Erik Wemple pretty much caught Politico reporter Mike Allen in what is known as “payola” or “pay-for-play” or, if you want to be generous, “native advertising.” Either way, Wemple made a very convincing case that in his widely disseminated Politico Playbook email newsletter, Allen is allegedly giving paying advertisers the additional bonus of positive coverage and publicity boosts disguised as news.

So what other unethical special coverage is Politico giving out? What stories which you consider news are actually advertizing or propaganda? Unfortunately, you probably don’t care. You like the narrative to keep rolling along uninterrupted. And like Politico, you will simply deny that this is important in any way despite the fact that others across the political spectrum see it for the dishonesty that it is.

Now, now. Don’t rain on Bruce’s hypocrisy parade.

Integrity is strange stuff. When it’s intact, it’s very strong and can withstand a lot of punishment.

            When it’s not…

Not only is there a potential violation of federal regulatory requirements, but obama is attempting to illegally silence potential witnesses against his administration

House Oversight Committee Chairman Darrell Issa (R-Calif.) announced Friday that an ObamaCare contractor would comply with a subpoena he issued, despite efforts by the Obama administration and some Democrats to keep the documents out of his hands.

After consulting with its legal counsel, MITRE Corp., a contractor working to assess security issues with the ObamaCare website, determined that it “has no alternative but to comply with the terms of a Congressional subpoena absent some form of judicial intervention.”

MITRE was the second ObamaCare contractor to say on Friday it would comply with the disputed subpoena, following CSSi.

Most transparently corrupt admin ever! I am sure that Bruce will not reply with a snarky comment indicating how funny he thinks it is that obama is obstucting any and all attempts to provide oversight of his criminal administration.

The usual from the lefties. I have said a number of times that the left actually does everything they accuse the right of doing. Transference, projection, whatever the name, it is just plain corruption and lying. ww

Forbes saw this coming in August. Does not surprise me in the least that this administration would fail to act – tho security experts say firewalls etc must be installed from day 1 – not added as patchwork after site construction is well underway.
