MSNBC Ridicules Mitt Romney for Having a Black Grandso

Remember, leftists such as those on cable “news” network MSNBC, are more loving and tolerant than you jerky conservatives. So, that is why the talking heads on MSNBC thought it would be fun to ridicule Mitt Romney for having an adopted grandson who is black. Because: tolerance.

On Sunday, December 29, extremist, hate-filled liberal Melissa Harris-Perry tok a few minutes with her panel of ignoramuses to talk about the most recent family photo of Mitt and Ann Romney and all their grandchildren.

There on Mitt’s knee, Harris-Perry informed us, was a little black child and she and her panel exploded in an amazing round of thinly veiled hatred over the adoption.

“Everybody loves a baby picture,” Harris-Perry belched out, “and this was one that really, a lot of people had emotions about this baby picture this year. This is the Romney family. And, of course, there on Governor Romney’s knee is his adopted grandson, who is an African-American, adopted African-American child, Kieran Romney.”

Harris-Perry then opened the discussion to her panel, one of whom thought she had an amusing offering. Panelist Pia Glenn sang out “One of these things is not like the others, one of these things just isn’t the same.”

Oh, we get it. It’s because Mitt is white and the baby is black.

Hilarious.

Another panel member, so-called comedian Dean Obeidallah, blurted out his addition to the joke-around saying, “I think this picture is great. It really sums up the diversity of the Republican party, the RNC. At the convention, they find the one black person.”

Apparently the folks at MSNBC are against race mixing? It is pretty interesting that these liberals are taking a stand against miscegenation, isn’t it?

I guess Dean Ode-du-Jim-Crow would have been more comfortable in the 1940s or 50s, eh?

Tolerance. Ain’t it wunnerful?

The Romney family welcomed the adopted child, Kieran James Romney, in the middle of September. The child was adopted by Romney scion Ben and his wife Andelynne.

Naturally, in September, the left exploded in hatred over the announcement.

Yep. Tolerance.

Harris-Perry has since apologized, sort of. But, who cares?

Beautiful Family! PMSn and their 6 viewers are jealous as well as racist.

  • Lawrence Westlake

Leftism is a mental disorder, not a legtimate political ideology. A lot of milquetoast people on the right wish reflexively to contest that, but alas reality is reality. Keep it all in mind when you decide for whom to vote or not to vote. The other obvious points here, which ironically are glossed over by the blogosphere, given the latter’s own sorry demographics, are that (i) two liberal arts degrees are not a real education, (ii) being a journalist and a liberal arts academic are not in the faintest reaches of the ballpark of being an actual, learned professional. This Harris-Perry woman is exactly who her resume describes her to be.

  • Commander_Chico

Mitt Romney is just about as black as Melissa Harris-Perry.

There is a long-standing opposition against whites adopting black kids among some people. Years ago, the National Association of Black Social Workers labeled it “genocide” or some such and voted to have it banned.

My own opinion is that Kieran is a lucky kid, and the gesture of the Romney family is sincere.

    • Brucehenry

I agree,. Romney, like W before him, is no bigot.

The fact that he espoused policies harmful to blacks as a group ( or that they perceived as being harmful) is no reason to suspect the man or his family of personal bigotry. I’m sure they are not.

      • jim_m

Of course not Bruce. The bigots are the people on MSNBC.

Here is the very racialist world view that I have been talking about. It is everywhere on the left and you are too stupid to see it. Evan Chico’s example of the National Assoc. of Black Social Worker’s proves my point as they are yet another left wing organization voting to continue segregation.

        • jim_m

What the MSNBC people show is that they hate the idea of actually taking a black person into a white family. Romney’s family actually lives a non racist life whereas the left only wants a veneer of equality to hide the desire to maintain a segregated nation underneath.

Romney’s actions threaten their world view by showing that segregation isn’t necessary for blacks to be happy, prosperous and safe.

          • Brucehenry

Yes you are right about these talking heads on MSNBC. It is a joke network I can’t watch, the bias is so painfully overt and in-your-face. It makes FOX look virtuous.

I don’t know why the authors here spend so much time “exposing” the liberal bias at MSNBC. It’s not new, not surprising, and is not going to get any better.

          • jim_m

I sometimes think that the only peoplle who watch MSNBC are the parents of those on there (and probably not all of those), and conservatives looking for the egregious BS they broadcast. If you took away the conservatives you wouldn’t fill an elevator with their audience.

          • Brucehenry

The thing is it’s not a bad idea, I think, to have a left-leaning mirror image of FOX on TV, but the execution is terrible. It seems they go out of their way to put idiots on the air who spout a lot of cliches that are just gobbledygook.

I think their ratings might have improved if they hadn’t gone full nutjob. I suspect it’s too late now for them.

          • jim_m

The problem is that it is not a mirror image of FOX. FOX is not nearly as radically right wing as MSNBC. Now should World Net Daily start up its own network I think you would have an argument, but FOX out rates all the other news network combined so you cannot claim that it is out on the fringe when it is more toward the mainstream of the public than its competition. All the claims from the left that FOX is on the fringe of public discourse are demonstrably false in that regard.

          • Brucehenry

Right, that’s exactly what I’m saying. It would be a good idea to have a mirror image of FOX, but what MSNBC is is a mirror image of World Net Daily. Good analogy, Jim.

And thanks for finally admitting FOX is part of the mainstream media, lol.

          • jim_m

I was very careful to be explicit and say that FOX was in the mainstream of public opinion not in the mainstream of the media. There is a difference.

There there you go again missing the nuance. Is there ever a time when leftists actually get nuance?

          • Brucehenry

And I thought I had perfected my rhetorical jujitsu, in a Jimlike fashion!

Guess I’ll just have to keep practicing.

          • jim_m

The student is not yet the master.

          • warnertoddhuston

I’ll tell you why I do it, Bruce. It’s because the hateful scum at MSNBC is no different than NBC, CBS, ABC, CNN, and the rest of the far left, liberal elites running the Old MEdia establishment. The only difference is that the assholes on MSNBC are a bit more honest.

          • Brucehenry

Well, it’s your blog. If I were a conservative writer I’d ignore MSNBC. Nobody watches them until a conservative calls attention to something outrageous said there.

          • iwogisdead

Well, that makes sense. But the fact is that the real claim by MSNBC is that Romney is 1) racist (because he’s Republican), and 2) hypocritical (because he has a black grandchild). Claims of racism and hypocrisy always require a response, no?

          • Brucehenry

Well I do my best when Jim starts in on the racist Dems of the 1860s, so maybe.

But no, seriously, it’s his blog. But as I said, if no one called attention to the stuff Toure, or this Melissa lady, or whoever, said, then pretty soon I bet MSNBC would just fold.

Warner doesn’t respond to every nutjob on KOS or DU, so I was just wondering why he seems so fixated on every idiotic utterance from these guys. But again it’s his prerogative.

          • iwogisdead

You had me going, for a bit. I actually thought that Jim said something about “racist Dems of the 1860s” so I looked. As usual, you were wrong.
Anyway, Happy New Year. Have some Bushmills. When I drink (a lot of) it, you actually make sense.

          • Brucehenry

I’m messing with Jim about conversations we’ve had over the years, one of them earlier today on another thread. You didn’t look hard enough for an inconsequential non-gotcha so whatever your point is enjoy it.

I don’t drink any more, but Bushmill’s was one of my favorites when I did, especially in cold weather. I hope you enjoy yours!

          • iwogisdead

Well, we agree on something. Cheers!!

          • Brucehenry

Whenever I get diagnosed with whatever it is is gonna finally kill me, I’m gonna take up drinkin’ again.

            Cheers to you too.

Those are Harris-Perry’s parents. She is “black” to the same extent that Obama is “black” and don’t even try to feed me that c–p about people not being white in the States if they have a drop ofblood from something else. That is long gone and we have Obama to prove it. People like this Tulane Professor are the product of America’s policy of outreach and favor offered to talent. In spite of that as well as her family history she still is filled with hatred for white people. Does that include her mother?

Duckman Robertson was suspended however briefly for his inane remarks. Why is this woman not suspended?

  • LiberalNightmare

Since when is an apology good enough for something like this?

Shouldn’t there be some sort of penance? Some re-education?
Maybe even some sort of job loss?

The left demanded more than an apology from the duck dynasty guys and Paula Dean.
Seems to me they should be forced to play by their own rules.

    • jim_m

True enough. GLAAD was demanding that Robertson meet with gays in order to understand them and their lives. I think that Harris-Perry should have to meet with religious conservatives so she can learn to appreciate their lives and their views.

If course the leftist solution was intended to remediate what the person thought. I really don’t care what she thinks but I think she should be made to play by her own rules.

Every child needs a home. I just hope he feels free to choose his own religion as he grows up. Theologically, I just can’t much agreement I have with the Mormon faith myself and would want the freedom to choose a faith more in keeping with my own feelings about faith. A child deserves that faith freedom as well.

    • LiberalNightmare

Back home, when folks opine about the way other people should raise their children, we tell them to mind their own business.

    • jim_m

I just can’t much agreement I have with the Mormon faith myself

Mmmmm. Yes. Well said. Happy New Year to you too.

Unfortunately, despite your tragic loss of grammar the fact is that religious freedom means that they can raise their child in their religion if they want to. But as with all things once he is an adult he will be free to choose for himself.

What amazes me is the prejudice by non-believers that supposes that parents must somehow be forced through social pressure to not pass down their religion to their children. Why should we be forced to present our beliefs as something questionable to our own children?

      • Paul Hooson

Sorry, I wrote this quickly in between so many distractions getting my club ready for tonight’s huge New Year’s Party event.
The social order of the Mormon Church doesn’t always allow for many to easily leave the faith and join another church if they desire. But, some choose to leave to join a more Bible based church.
I have my huge staff working on this event, set to kick off in about an hour and a half, but with so many distractions, my above comment was indeed a fractured one.
