Obama Fails: Al Qaeda Controls More Territory Than Ever

Despite his oft times indiscriminate death from-the-skies drone program, Obama seems to have failed to put a stop to our worst enemy, al Qaeda. It seems that the infamous terror group now controls more territory than ever.

Obama has pretended that his occasional drone strike and the fact that he was in the White House when our military killed Osama bin Laden means that we’ve essentially won the war on terror and destroyed al Qaeda. But this seems to be a total lie. Al Qaeda is alive and well.

The National Review took the time in its morning email, The Morning Jolt, to note that the terrorists are expanding, not contracting.

NR points out that CNN’s Peter Bergen has revealed the truth about al Qaeda’s growth:

From around Aleppo in western Syria to small areas of Fallujah in central Iraq, al Qaeda now controls territory that stretches more than 400 miles across the heart of the Middle East, according to English and Arab language news accounts as well as accounts on jihadist websites.

Indeed, al Qaeda appears to control more territory in the Arab world than it has done at any time in its history.

Iraq is also finding renewed troubles with al Qaeda. As I posted in the video above, Iraqi authorities are again battling in Fallujah to evict al Qaeda forces. This after we thought we already did that with our invasion of Iraq.

Good thing Obama pulled us out of Iraq, eh?

On top of all that the Taliban is resurgent in Afghanistan.

NR’s Jim Geraghty ends his report with a perfect reminder…

“Remember, ‘Bin Laden is dead and Detroit is alive,’ Geraghty writes. “Detroit is bankrupt and al-Qaeda now controls more territory than ever.”

Exactly right. What do you think?

Yeah but, minimum wage and income inequality.
    That and bridge-gate.

There’s no doubt the Obama/Clinton/Kerry foreign policy is a complete disaster.
But they simply don’t care. It’s all politics for them. Probably why the only people Obama has ever fired are Military Generals.

And really, when you sit back and look at the larger picture, the only war Obama and the dems are waging with any real seriousness, is the war against the traditional citizens of the US.

    • Well, let’s just HOPE we can last until there’s a CHANGE…

Frankly, that ‘fundamental transformation’ he wanted is looking more and more like the end result of a Mythbusters’ explosion myth – when they go ‘Fuck it, let’s just throw all the explosives we can find into the sucker and see how big a boom it’ll make.”

  • There is no military campaign that our Armed Forces (supported by and majority composed of Conservatives) can win that the Progtards cannot and will not piss away.

Is there anything Obama’s touched that hasn’t turned to sh!t?

    • warnertoddhuston

The long answer to that is “no.”

    • jim_m

      There’s Michelle. Wait, no…

    • Nothing I can think of, which is because BO is sh!t, period.

We appeased the Nazi’s for 6 years before they invaded Poland and WWII started. obama has only had 5 years of appeasing the islamists. Like Germany, the appeasement has resulted in their gaining more territory while we offered up only token resistance. The islamists want a global conflagration. obama is just the man to give it to them. That will likely be his legacy.

    • warnertoddhuston

I don’t know what you’re talking about. The GOP has given Obama 5 years of appeasement. There’s lots of appeasing going on.

  • I thought BO said Al Qaeda was on the run? BO just failed to say which direction, huh? O K can U see !

Presidential elections have grave consequences. Ross Perot wouldn’t be able to figure out the irony, but that’s neither here nor there. Tamping down and then pulling entirely out of Iraq, on the very cusp of total victory, was one of the worst foreign policy mistakes in U.S. history. The Benghazi fiasco will have ripple effects that will last for decades. In Afghanistan since ’09 we’ve been putting troops where we don’t need them, in weather seasons where they’re not effective, so that Obama can measure out his dick size for his buddies on the golf courses. Do you think it’s a coincidence that McChrystal bugged out and Gates felt compelled to write that book? Keep all of this in mind when you’re voting for Rand Paul in the ’16 primary, and then staying home in the Nov. general. You’ll be casting de facto ballots for eight years of Hillary Clinton as Commander in Chief.

Al qaeda controls more territory than ever.

Perhaps that is beause we have a President who sends our soldiers to their deaths for the sole purpose of keeping his polling numberrs up. He expected the military to fail in Afghanistan before he committed more troops there

Obama ordered an intensification of our effort in Afghanistan, while admitting privately that he expected it to fail. Approximately 80% of the fatalities our military has suffered in Afghanistan have taken place on Obama’s watch, not because he was pursuing a strategy that he sincerely believed to be in America’s interest, but because he cynically calculated that sending Americans to die in a useless campaign (as he assessed it) would benefit him politically.

Chico blames Bush for deaths in Afghanistan yet obama has killed far more of our military there and for a far worse reason. Yet Chico supports obama in this.
