SOTU: People will prosper ONLY with Obama as Emperor

That was the main message from the President last night at the State of the Union reality show. By the way, we don’t have a government anymore, we have a rock star reality show running Washington DC. Before we get to the video of the President declaring himself to be the only thing that stands between the poor and oblivion, we want to show off the best description of the State of the Union address – by any President – we’ve seen in ages. Thank you to Kevin Williamson of National Review.

The annual State of the Union pageant is a hideous, dispiriting, ugly, monotonous, un-American, un-republican, anti-democratic, dreary, backward, monarchical, retch-inducing, depressing, shameful, crypto-imperial display of official self-aggrandizement and piteous toadying, a black Mass during which every unholy order of teacup totalitarian and cringing courtier gathers under the towering dome of a faux-Roman temple to listen to a speech with no content given by a man with no content, to rise and to be seated as is called for by the order of worship — it is a wonder they have not started genuflecting — with one wretched representative of their number squirreled away in some well-upholstered Washington hidey-hole in order to preserve the illusion that those gathered constitute a special class of humanity without whom we could not live.

It’s the most nauseating display in American public life — and I write that as someone who has just returned from a pornographers’ convention.

Any questions? We think Kevin nailed it.

Now then, on to Claudius President Obama.

“[T]he simple, profound belief in opportunity for all…” Sigh.

Mr. President, Oh Devine One, Orator for the Ages, the only cure for “income inequality”, the road to “opportunity for all”, is a job. Jobs come from the private sector of the economy not the government.

Creation of real jobs requires an environment where entrepreneurs can feel confident that their risk might be rewarded. An environment where business owners can expand their businesses and hire new people – and pay their current people more – because they’re confident that regulators won’t collude to put them out of business by raising the cost of doing business through politically motivated regulation. An environment that respects and promotes free markets and rewards risk.

Mr. President you’ve spent the last five years undermining the private sector with regulation and new taxes. You’ve worked to drive up the cost of energy, you’ve colluded with labor union thugs through your illegal and unconstitutional appointments to the NLRB to drive up labor costs. Your signature ObamaCare initiative has been a boon to people who want to work part time and be excluded from opportunities to advance in their jobs, it’s made “job creation” in your administration shorthand for more part time jobs than full time jobs.

Your initiative to unilaterally raise the minimum wage for workers under federal contracts is unconstitutional and hopefully will be immediately met with court fillings to stop it. You’re not the legislature, sir; you are the head of the executive branch. Your constitutional authorization is to execute the laws passed by Congress not make up your own.

Courtesy of the Independent Journal Review, from gop.com, here are a few facts about what this President’s “jobs agenda” and his push for “economic opportunity” have gotten us in five years.

I didn’t watch it, I doubt many did.

But really, why would anyone believe anything this man says?

His background is a lie. His autobiographies are filled with fiction. His campaign promises were all lies. Damn near everything he’s said while President has been a lie. His signature achievement, one gigantic lie.

Again I ask….why would anyone believe anything this man says?

Because they desperately want to believe they didn’t make a bad choice supporting him.

They’re like compulsive gamblers – they KNOW what the odds are, and they know they’re about tapped out. But they’re willing to bet the mortgage money that THIS time they’ll win, and it’ll be so big a jackpot that they can fix everything in their lives.

And then they lose – and look for something else to pawn because NEXT time they’ll strike it rich. Only in this case, the ‘something else’ is our kid’s futures and our present prosperity. But that’s okay – because they’re bound to strike it big any day now.

Any day now. Yep, any moment it’ll all turn around…

And there are some who would believe that the only reason things are as they are is because he doesn’t have MORE power to make the sweeping changes that would make it all better.

There’s always someone waiting for ‘Superman’ to save them – when they’ve got to save themselves.

Yes he is so stupid he believes his own bull. SAD thing is a large chunk of his low info supporters do to.

And the most dramatic response to the State of the Unión address was from Michael Grimm. The GOP authoritarian leaning crazies will not doubt adore his mafioso response as fitting for their party, but will the general public?

Michael Grimm was not among the four Republicans asked to respond to the State of the Union address last night, but he might as well have been. Not one to cede the spotlight casually, the representative from Staten Island eclipsed the dull speeches of his colleagues with a vintage, action-packed Michael Grimm performance. Footage of a United States congressman physically threatening a reporter may not have been the Republican Party’s preferred story of the evening, but it was the one that Grimm delivered. ..GRIMM: Let me be clear to you, you ever do that to me again I’ll throw you off this fucking balcony.
SCOTTO (reporter): Why? I just wanted to ask you…

    A double standard!

Since he took office, Vice President Cheney has led the Bush administration’s effort to increase the power of the presidency. “I have repeatedly seen an erosion of the powers and the ability of the president of the United States to do his job,” he said after a year in office, calling it “wrong” for past presidents to yield to congressional demands. “We are weaker today as an institution because of the unwise compromises that that have been made over the last 30 to 35 years.”

Cheney’s pushes his theory into practice what was termed his visión of the “unitary executive” with no criticism from the right, only kudos.

Now that Obama continues it to some degee but in a more muted form, he is declared “an emperor” . For example, of the nine unanmious cases, the Supreme Court ruled against, in Ted Cruz’s rant against Obama’s overuse of executive power, seven were started by previous adminstrations, mainly George W. Bush’s, and the other two were were equivocal.

There is a difference between asserting Presidential authority and declaring your intent to rule by presidential order and using the IRS as your new Statsi.

I guess you didn’t get the nuance.

    • Nope

So you are going with the blame Bush defense. Fine. Then give us an
example of Bush doing anything like what Obama has been doing. Or are
you just attempting to distract the discussion away from Obama’s
      indefensible actions.

    • Jwb10001

OK so you go from a nobody Jr congress dope to Bush, what’s next? Oh I know, RACIST. Again with the but Bush did it too defense from a support(er) of the new and different kind of politician, what’s so freakin’ new and different? I know the answer to that too, Obama is worse.

    • http://www.rustedsky.net JLawson

Steve – if Obama were competent and capable and had ideas that were good for the country, he wouldn’t be needing to go the executive order route to attempt to patch over the messes he’s made.

      • http://www.traveLightgame.com/ ljcarolyne

Messes, has Obama been a mess, you said it. He is and will be the worst failure this country has ever known, but his sick corrupted gene pool mind says . . .I am never wrong!!

    • Retired military

And Crickmore chooses Option B. Obama is bad but Bush was worse.

    • LiberalNightmare

So when you voted for Obama, you were really voting for more Bush?

      Well played sir.

  • Vagabond661

I would have more faith in that pen if his successes outnumbered his failures.

  • Retired military

I was too busy sorting my sock drawer and by the time I was done this was over (I have a lot of socks).

    • http://www.traveLightgame.com/ ljcarolyne

      Funny, me too!

  • LiberalNightmare

The only interesting thing about 0bama’s SOTU is guessing which libtard will be online the next day trying to defend it.

    • Walter_Cronanty

Certainly hope they do better than our resident progs, defending it with – but, look what an R congressman said….but, Bush is to blame. Pathetic.

  • GarandFan

If it weren’t for failures, this administration would have no “successes”.

  • Lawrence Westlake

A dog & pony show for LIVs and other core elements of our incipient Idiocracy. It’ll actually get worse, too. Try to fathom how ludicrous Obama’s SOTU addresses will be in 2015, 2016 and especially the farewell address in 2017. Staggers the mind. That said, on a quite related topic, voting and not voting have very severe consequences. Keep that in mind when Nov. 2016 rolls around and more importantly don’t go full retard when you’re in that ballot booth.
