Michelle Obama Says Kids Should Monitor Parents for Racism

Taking a page out of the political handbook of every fascist society and dystopian Sci Fi novel, Michelle Obama is telling kids to monitor their parents for crimes against the state.

The woman who was never proud of her country until she and her husband were deposited in the White House spoke to a class in Topeka, Kansas last Friday where she told students to monitor their parents for racist speech because she and her hubby can only do so much without good little informants like them back home.

Obama told students that our laws “may no longer separate us” based on race. But she complained that the Constitution can’t force us to “eat together in the lunchroom, or live together in the same neighborhoods.” She then said, “There’s no court case against believing in stereotypes or thinking that certain kinds of hateful jokes or comments are funny.”

As The Blaze reports Obama went on:

“Or maybe it’s when you go off to college and you decide to join a sorority or fraternity, and you ask the question, how can we get more diversity in our next pledge class?” she added. “Or maybe it’s years from now, when you’re on the job and you’re the one who asks, do we really have all the voices and viewpoints we need at this table?”

“But no matter what you do, the point is to never be afraid to talk about these issues, particularly the issue of race,” she said.

Clearly, Obama wants speech codes and she wants kids to help enforce them.

So, come on, kiddies. Be good little goose stepping, government automatons and run to Michelle and her department of racism brown shirts to let them know when your racist uncle, evil parents, or hater friends say something that Michelle doesn’t like, won’t you?

Michelle needs YOU, kids!

I read Michelle’s remarks, did not see any part about reporting parents to the police or authorities.

She just said kids should speak up when their parents start spouting off about “niggers” or “crackers” as the case might be.

Why not? Kids should think for themselves and speak up when their parents are wrong.

    • Hank_M

No need to go to the police or “authorities”. Social media will suffice as we’ve seen with Sterling and the Police Chief in Wolfsboro NH.
I’m also sure that “crackers” will not be an issue.

      • http://wizbangblog.com/author/rodney-graves/ Rodney G. Graves

        How Stalinesque of her.

    • warnertoddhuston

She speaks as authority and she intends kids to respond to her as their leader, not their parents. If you don’t see this as the most typical, authoritarian, fascism, then you deserve what you get from these disgusting scumbags.

      • Commander_Chico

How is that different than Nancy Reagan’s “Just say no” campaign advising kids not to smoke marijuana, then?

That campaign was also widely mocked and criticized as authoritarian, but I saw only a little naive but benign attempt at moral leadership.

If you can agree that both drugs and racism are bad things, there is not any difference.

        • Retired military

Gee I don’t recall Nancy telling kids to monitor their parents for drug use. Maybe you can show me that part.

          • Commander_Chico

Ever hear of D.A.R.E.? Started in 1983. That was a part of the “Just Say No” campaign, and cops got kids to rat out parents.

There are no cops involved in what Michelle said.

        • http://wizbangblog.com/author/rodney-graves/ Rodney G. Graves

You really equate Just say no with inform on your family and friends?

          Of course you do.

          • Commander_Chico

D.A.R.E. has resulted in the arrests of parents through kids ratting them out to cops.

“did not see any part about reporting parents to the police or authorities.”
That part is coming. Liberals believe in incrementalism if nothing else. One step at a time.
You shouldn’t worry Chico. You are safe at least until they round up all of us first.

    • Jwb10001

Speak up to who? Their parents? Their teachers? Who? It’s implied that this leads to speaking up to an authority that can “correct” the behavior.

      • Brucehenry

Do you know what the phrase “speak up” means?

“Speak up” for what’s right. Remind Aunt Tillie when she talks disparagingly about “those people” she’s talking about people you know and like and admire. That was the message. There’s nothing wrong with that. There’s nothing 1984-ish about it.

Warner makes you look for it, but here’s the link to Mrs Obama’s remarks.

        http://www.whitehouse.gov/the-press-office/2014/05/17/remarks-first-lady-topeka-school-district-senior-recognition-day

Read them and see if you can find a call for kids to report their racist parents to the authorities. You won’t find it, because it ain’t there.

Warner’s been taking reading lessons from Jim_M. He’s been taught how to read words no one wrote or said, then to try and light everyone’s hair on fire about them.

It’s called collaboration with a criminal and fascist government to oppress people. As Rodney points out it is a Stalinist tactic and one that was used in worker’s paradises like East Germany.

Many times I have said that you are an apologist for fascism and it surprises me not at all that you leap to defend the idea of children being used as spies by the government to oppress the adult population.

          • Brucehenry

Goofy paranoia. Outlandish nonsense. Crazy talk.

          • jim_m

Yeah, because obama and his campaign have NEVER, EVER asked people to report political enemies to them so they could prosecute them.

Oooh, the little fascist is upset. Are you going to report me to obama’s truth squad?

How may times does obama and his campaign have to encourage people to tell THEM about something they don’t like before it becomes an assumption that when they ask you to tell “someone” that you assume that they mean themselves and their fascist admin?

          • Brucehenry

            Not upset, amused.

Where does Michelle ask the kids to tell “someone” their parents are making racist remarks?

She is advising kids to say, “Gee, Grampa, that’s kinda racist,” when he cracks a “joke” about minorities. Nothing wrong with that.

Oh it’s there between the ‘lines’ or should I say ‘lies!’ MO’s attitude shows through and through that bleached white skin of hers. “But no matter what you do, the point is to never be afraid to talk about these issues, particularly the issue of race,” she said.”

Meaning only when you feel that the nonwhite is being put down. This doesn’t count if it is white folks who are being put down.

Michelle’s remarks aren’t acceptable. Most good people certainly oppose true racism, prejudice, discrimination or hate, but jokes or comedy are a satire, parody or comment on racial relations or stereotypes. For example, I told many ethnic stereotype housefire jokes here on Kevin’s weekly caption contest and I do some very funny ethnic stereotype impressions as well for both humor and shock value, as a satire on racial or ethnic relations. My own household in recent years was a mixed race and religion household, my background, Irish Catholic, my girl friend Jewish, her children African American. Here’s my

You see Obama and the media focusing on irrelevancies while pretty much everything else as far as foreign and domestic policy is unattended.

Obamacare’s revealing itself to be chock full of unanticipated consequences, Michelle was given the post of ‘School Food Tsar’, with predictable results, Obama would rather golf than attend to the duties of a President – and now… this.

I’ve made allusions in the past to the current administration acting like a bunch of con men. I take that back – con men know they’ve got to keep the mark happy until he’s bled dry. They’re careful to play the mark along.

The Obamas are acting like they simply don’t give a shit about the reaction their comments engender. Which makes you wonder what other sorts of ‘executive orders’ Obama’s got waiting to pull out and sign…

Fuck. Maybe I need to go buy some tinfoil.

And no democrat will ever pull a Howard Baker and put the country ahead of the party.
Put that all together with the invincible shield of being black and the Obama’s have every reason to believe they can get away with whatever they want.

  • Brucehenry

LOL I’ve read the replies to my comment from last night as well as the other comments on the thread so far. I’m not surprised by the unhinged paranoia on display but it’s amusing nonetheless.

You need a pole-vaulter’s pole to leap to the conclusion Warner has leapt to from Michelle’s remarks. Look at them again — I’ve linked to them in their entirety above — and see if you can find a phrase that suggests anything of the sort Warner alleges. It simply ain’t there.

This is why I don’t respect most conservatives. In this example, if you believe Warner’s characterization of what Michelle said, you are the rubest of rubes. Like LJCarolyne. If you KNOW it’s crazy but repeat it anyway, as conservatives are wont to do (“Czars”, Benghazi!!!, “you didn’t build that,” yada yada) you are just a garden variety lying sack of shit. Like Jim.

And this is the reason establishment Republicans mopped the floor with Tea Party crazies yesterday. People don’t buy this wild-ass nonsense any more. Hell, I don’t even think most of YOU GUYS buy this folderol. If you do, as I said, you’re rubes. And Warner is the cynic throwing you red meat.

Enjoy political ignominy. It will soon be your lot.

    • jim_m

I take as a compliment being called a liar by the apologist for fascism. You think we are crazy but we know that you are excusing injustice and finding anyway to apologize for each and every breach of decency and the law that you believes advances your agenda. There is no excess that is inexcusable when it comes to advancing that agenda and you will find an excuse for every one of them.

      • Brucehenry

Point out the phrase where Michelle tells the little children to report their parents to the Racism Police.

            OOH, burn

Bruce , The Obamas don’t have to say things specifically. Do you think they specifically told the IRS to audit their public enemies or to hold up tea party groups applications? Nope. the Obamanites know what the Obamas want and they follow obediently.

By Obamanites in this instance I mean specifically the teachers unions who will surely talk to the kiddies about informing on their parents in subtle underhanded ways.

The “rubest of rubes” you mean like the 35% of dems (including Chico) who believe that Bush was complicit in the 911 attack?

      • Brucehenry

You’ve been saying that for years. Link please.

        • jim_m

Sgh. I posted a link years ago. But here you go chucklehead:

Rasmussen reports claims 35% of dems think Bush complicit in that he knew beforehand about the attack and chose to do nothing:

Democrats in America are evenly divided on the question of whether George W. Bush knew about the 9/11 terrorist attacks in advance. Thirty-five percent (35%) of Democrats believe he did know, 39% say he did not know, and 26% are not sure.

But now that you made me look, here is a Scrips poll that suggests over half of dems believe that Bush was complicit:

A full 22.6% of Democrats said it was “very likely.” Another 28.2% called it “somewhat likely.”

That is: More than half of Democrats, according to a neutral survey, said they believed Bush was complicit in the 9/11 terror attacks.

I won’t bother linking Chico. Everyone knows that he has made this claim multiple times.

Now how about you just STFU?

          • Brucehenry

Re Rasmussen: Do you know the difference between “knew about” and “complicit”? Rasmussen does. Also, 35% of Democrats said they thought he may have known about the attacks in advance, but 22% of ALL voters believed that.

Re Scrips: Ben Smith, the author of your linked piece, says, “I’m still not sure this represents actual belief as opposed to a kind of trash talk…”

Also in your scrips link check the 4th comment in the thread re trutherism v birtherism.

And you still have not provided a quote where Michelle tells kids to report anyone to anyone else.

          • jim_m

You asked for me to substantiate the 35% claim. I did. If you want to contest the difference between “knew about” and “complicit” I suggest you take it up with Chico who believes that they are one and the same.

          • Brucehenry

Again, when Democrats say Bush “knew” they are usually referring to the Aug 6 memo, which is far from saying he was “complicit.” And again, as you very well know.

          • jim_m

Ask Chico to get out of your ass and he will explain it to you.

          • Brucehenry

Yes you and M. Soi Disant are a lot like my old buddy Mark, or Marc, or whatever.

          • jim_m

Too stupid to even remember who he is supposedly talking about.

Why not make an actual claim and provide some links to back your stupid, ignorant ass up?

          • Brucehenry

Calm down Jim you are embarrassing yourself. It’s just blog comments.

          • jim_m

Hey, you dismiss stuff without offering argumentation. You demand proof but then offer none yourself.

It’s dishonest and an example of how worthless your opinions are that you cannot think to back them up. You are only parroting what you have heard from others.

          • Brucehenry

What is it you think I am supposed to prove? Where could I find a link that demonstrates that Michelle DIDN’T say something?

          • jim_m

You argued about my comments about dems and Bush being complicit in 9/11. You could have ponied up a poll that showed the opposite. But, no. You’re too damn lazy to actually look for something yourself. It has to be handed to you. You apparently never learned how to research a topic.

          • Brucehenry

I didn’t argue the opposite, genius. My reply was that Democrats who say Bush “knew” were and are talking about the Aug 6 memo. I don’t doubt the poll was accurate but the question wasn’t “was Bush complicit” but “did he know.”

And if by “did he know” one means the Aug 6 memo, then yeah, sure.

            There was no research required.

The problem is that you’ve been using that poll, dishonestly, for years while knowing full well it doesn’t prove what you are purporting it proves.

          • jim_m

I disagree with that interpretation. The Aug 6th memo could not have told Bush about 9/11. It only specified a pending attack. And as I have said previously, even Chico has argued that Bush knew and let it happen for political reasons. I think it is very disingenuous to suggest that dems think that Bush knew but was not complicit in at least letting it happen. I think that many, many dems believe that not only did he know but that he was actively involved in it. Van Jones (former adviser to Dear Leader) is one of those people.

          • Retired military

Not to throw stones at Bruce but Chico did argue that Bush got the memo and didn’t even investigage where as I posted a link that showed there were 60+ investigations being done at the time concerning possible terror attacks against the US.

          • Brucehenry

Whether you agree or not is immaterial. The point is that is what Dems mean when they say he “knew.”

I used to hear, and still do sometimes, a similar line about FDR and Roosevelt.

          • jim_m

I used to hear, and still do sometimes, a similar line about FDR and Roosevelt.

Really? You don’t know that the “R” in FDR stands for Roosevelt? Wow.

And those accusations were wrong too. As I have stated, I draw my conclusion from other leftists on this board who have declared that Bush knowing was the same as allowing it to happen.

          • Brucehenry

I’ve made my argument, genius. (Who’s getting upset now? LOL)

My argument is that Michelle DID NOT say what Warner insists she said. I have repeatedly asked you, him, and anyone else to provide the words in which she tells kids to turn in their parents to some governmental authority, or anything NEAR it. None of you can do it, because THE WORDS AREN’T IN THE REMARKS.

As for RM’s links, his search was too broad. Just click on them. The first was about the 2006 US attorney’s “scandal.” Another was some Baptist complaining that an investigator was fired who was grinding the Baptist’s ax for him. On and on.

          • jim_m

Only a couple of days ago I went and provided specific comments on 19 articles that some idiot was declaring meant something . You can’t manage to give a single word to critique 7 separate stories.

It’s sad how lazy you are in your argumentation. It’s as though you think you should be believed simply because you are defending Dear Leader.

          • Brucehenry

I’m sure you don’t find me to be persuasive. That is your prerogative.

          • Retired military

I made a quick pass Bruce. I find myself less and less interested in diving in crap throwing contests just due to sheer weariness of the effort.
I can understand ideological differences but the out and out idol worship by some on the left, the ass covering the press does on a daily basis, the daily spoutings of Jay Carney who says “Obama just found out about XXXX by reading the newspapers ” and you have folks repeating it like it is gospel (if Bush’s press secretaries had said that once it would be everyone for months, yet it seems a daily mantra for Carney.) has just about made it where nothing someone on the left says suprises me.
I distance you from the majority of the left as you (unlike Chico) can speak coherently when you aren’t hurling (either initially or in response to ) barbs with others.
Here is how I see the VA thing going.
1-2 weeks the head of the VA will resign (normal MO for bother sides).
Carney will say that Obama asked for Ig investigation to last a month so 2-3 weeks after “studying” the results which probably wont be published in toto will find no systemic failure and no one criminally liable,
Carney will then say that Obama will consult with experts to consider options.
2-3 weeks later options will be laid out and a plea for time to implement.
from then to election time – “we have laid out things, we are checking to ensure that they are being implemented, we have no figures as to progress, BTW the republicans are stalling implementing key parts of the plan”
After election “Christmas break, we are still evaluating time to move on. We anticipate more problems with cooperation since republicans will be in charge of the Senate. We must act now.” See several executive orders that do nothing but adds more regulations to already ridiculous beaurocracy.
Jan “Everyone just getting back on board from holidays we are still evaluating we don’t have numbers yet, this is old news, time to move on”
Junish “this is old news, we have some metrics to show improvement, lets move on’
Oct “I don’t have that information. That is old news. What does it matter anymore”
            And the beat goes on.
Survivor is on. Better than watching Congress since both are full of idiots but survivor season finale is on tonight so better than congress.

Btw as I told my first girlfriend. I showed you mine, now you show me yours. (links that is)

          • jim_m

and you have folks repeating it like it is gospel

I would argue that Bruce is amongst that demographic.

          • Retired military

I actually disagree. I think Bruce “expands” some stuff just to get the goats of folks here. I could be wrong.

          • http://www.rustedsky.net JLawson

Re the VA – my father applied for the Aid and Assistance pension. The first time he had too many assets, and was denied. The second time, we were told to expect a 10 month wait from the time it was started to the time it was approved, but it would be retroactive to the application date. At this point, he was 90.

At the 10 month mark, we called and were told the VA had ‘lost’ the paperwork, said we had to reapply. Talked to the office that helped us fill out the paperwork, they made some phone calls – and after two weeks the pension was approved and he got a good-sized check. It really eased his mind over the last year.

But if he’d passed away during that time, no check would have been sent.

It makes me wonder how many cases of ‘lost paperwork’ like this happen – so it was pretty much no surprise when this new VA scheduling mess broke. I don’t have to make use of their services – at least at this point – but when getting a bonus is more important than getting veterans cared for, there’s something badly wrong in the system.

It isn’t paranoia if they really are out to get you.
IE Outspoken person against Obama suddenly gets notice from IRS of an audit 2 days after criticism is broadcast.

Conservatives who contributed to conservative groups applying for 501c(…) status were audited at ten times the rate of the rest of the tax paying population.

        • Brucehenry

          Says who?

          • Retired military

There were several articles written on the subject. I am sure you can google one.
After all Chico spouts BS with nothing to back it up on. At least this can be produced.

          • Brucehenry

Sure I can and it’ll take me to Infowars or WND or another trustworthy source I’m sure.

          • jim_m

Bruce it too lazy and too dishonest to bother looking this up. He is also to ignorant and uneducated to be able to do it correctly.

Being informed would stand in the way of apologizing for creeping fascism.

          • jim_m

Jeez, Bruce do you not read the news?

“The committee uncovered new information indicating that after groups provided the information to the IRS, nearly one in 10 donors were subject to audit,” Rep. Charles W. Boustany Jr., Louisiana Republican and chairman of the Ways and Means Committee’s oversight panel, told IRS Commissioner John Koskinen at a hearing Wednesday.

Although I suppose being informed might be an obstacle to excusing fascism so that expokains why yoy are such a dumbass.

For your information the average taxpayer stands less than a 1% chance of being audited.

          • Brucehenry

Boustany alleging something and something actually occurring are two different things. Do you know the difference between an allegation by partisan politicians and an established fact?

Maybe not and this “expokains why yoy are such a dumbass” lol.

          • jim_m

It was in the House hearing. Once again you don’t even bother to show data to back yourself up you just denounce the person as a political enemy. Fascist. You get more pathetic with every apologetic post.

          • jim_m

I don’t claim to be a typist or a proof reader. At least I can think for myself, unlike you. The only honest thing you have ever admitted was how uneducated and stupid you are.

          • Retired military

So Bruce I take it you totally disregard all those Koch Brother allegations made by Reid, Pelosi, Obama and others than. Especially since they are totally distorted and it is easily proven that 18 unions donate more to the dems than the Koch brothers have donated and that one dem billionaire has donated more than a billion to just the abortion cause.

          • Brucehenry

Have you ever seen me vociferously defend an over-the-top rant about the Kochs? Have I ever, here on Wizbang, attacked the Kochs or denied that 18(!) unions combined (?) have donated more to politicians than the Kochs have?

On the other hand you have got all excited calling everybody and his brother a fascist even though you have tacitly admitted that Michelle DID NOT DO what Warner has accused her of doing.

          • Retired military

            Bruce
I honestly cant recall anything you said about the Koch brothers.
I asked you if you disregard the statements made by Reid, Pelosi, Obama and others about the Kochs.
You did not answer that question. Please do so.

As for me calling folks a facist. I don’t recall doing that. Please point out where I used that word. I simply made an ascertation that Obamanites would simply do what they believe that Obama would want without explicit instructions. That happens with cult like figures. Do you deny that Obama is a cult like figure with some? do you recall the fainting at his rallies? his stating that now is the time for the seas to stop rising and the earth to heal? the school children singing “barrack Hussein Obama mmm mmmm mmm”? the press “halo” photos?

Do you doubt that there are those who would do this?
Do you not recall the leftist call of “the Bushies”?

I did not insult you by including you in the category of Obamanites. I ask that you not insult me by saying I hurl the word facist around. Those that do so do the same amount of harm as those who hurl the racism charge around.

          • jim_m

I hurl it around. But then there is more reason to believe that today’s left would welcome a fascist state (look at all the lefties saying that we should let obama be a dictator for a day) than there is to suggest that anyone that the left accuses of racism actually is a racist.

          • Brucehenry

Woops sorry I got you mixed up with Jim. No you haven’t called anyone a fascist. My mistake.

And yes if Reid or Obama say something crazy about the Kochs I’ll discount it. I don’t agree with the Kochs and don’t think it’s good that rich fucks like them, or Soros for that matter, have so much power due solely to having so much money. But I don’t think they are evil incarnate but sincere, if greedy as hell, Americans who are doing what they think is right and in their own self-interest.

          • Retired military

            Thanks for your response.

          • jim_m

FYI, Boustany’s figures are from a forthcoming GAO report. So now you are going to denounce the GAO as a far right tool?

          • Brucehenry

When the forthcoming report comes forth I’ll look at it. Until then it’s an allegation which you have already accepted as Gospel Truth.

          • jim_m

Bullshit. You won’t ever look at anything that might tear the veil of deceit that you so arduously defend.

I accept it because the obama admin has already been demonstrated to have illegally persecuted conservative groups through the IRS. I accept it because the obama admin has made lie after lie to cover up this IRS scandal.

Why should I not believe it when everything that the obama admin and the IRS have claimed so far has been proven to be a lie?

Why do you accept the excuses and offer defenses when it has been shown that everything claimed by oabama and his IRS goons has been false?

The reason you do is because your side benefits from this. You defend anything that advances your agenda. You would criminalize political speech if you could and you would defend that.

          • Brucehenry

I’m sure you or Warner will bring it to my attention.

          • jim_m

            Count on it.

    • http://wizbangblog.com/author/rodney-graves/ Rodney G. Graves
