CNN Quietly Changes Story that DOJ Held Back Ferguson Robbery Video

Looks like CNN is trying to cover Obama’s rear end by quietly changing its story about how the DOJ’s Eric Holder told the Ferguson police to withhold the video showing slain teen Michael Brown robbing a local store. It now appears that Obama wanted riots to happen in Ferguson.

Early on Saturday a conflict between the local police in riot plagued Ferguson, Missouri and the federal government came to light over the release of the video of the store robbery that allegedly depicts slain teen Michael Brown robbing a local store only hours before he was killed by police. CNN reported that the feds delayed the release of the footage by telling the local cops not to release it to the public. The police eventually released it anyway, but only after nearly a week of rioting.

One of the reasons the police finally released the video was because the community was calling for more transparency from police. But CNN initially reported that Obama’s Department of Justice told them not to release the video.

Friday’s release of the store-theft video by Ferguson police occurred over the objections of federal authorities, a law enforcement official told CNN on Saturday.

Ferguson police had wanted to release the video Thursday but held off when the U.S. Justice Department asked them not to, arguing that doing so would increase tensions in the community, the source said.

But Ferguson Police Chief Thomas Jackson released it Friday, announcing for the first time that Brown was suspected of stealing cigars from Ferguson Market and Liquor shortly before noon August 9, minutes before Wilson encountered and shot him.

The above paragraphs appeared in a story CNN posted on Saturday morning. But later in the day this rhetoric was mysteriously removed from the CNN story without any note that it had been done. But the DOJ involvement in the video release was mentioned by several other sources, many citing CNN. So, we know it was in the story at one time.

Still, at least one other reporter passed this info on to the public. Goldie Taylor of NBC Tweeted the following:

But note what this means. This means that the DOJ did not want made public information that might cast a bad light on the slain teen, info that might prevent more rioting. Eric Holder’s DOJ wanted to facilitate the martyrdom of Michael Brown and the truth did not matter.

One is almost tempted to believe that Eric Holder and Barack Obama wanted riots in Ferguson.

Further, why would the so-called “most transparent administration in history” urge less transparency, especially when civil unrest might result from the secrecy?

I reported today on WIZBANG POP how CNN drew a wave of anger against their reporting of the robbery suspect that appeared to be way too sympathetic, and had to suspend a tidal wave of negative comments against CNN, endangering their core audience of viewers. CNN’s reporter Don Lemon was viewed as overly sympathetic to Brown, even though it appears that he was little more than just street thug who robbed the little store to steal cigars to roll blunts to get high on drugs(they pack marijuana into the cigars).

Dude, link your story! Of all people you are the last one I would have suspected of failure to self promote. 😉

This CNN story is terrible. In some cases, the posts critical of CNN’s coverage were running nearly 200 to 0 against CNN on CNN’s comments page, so they decided to delete many of the comments, later closed the discussion, and now don’t allow public comments on stories about the Ferguson problems. This is outrageous. – Further, the public has the right to know, and store robbery video is an important evidence portion in what appeared to be a pattern of violence by Brown, first at the store and later against the police officer that finally resulted in his shooting. The Justice Department had no business participating in any effort to suppress evidence to make the public believe the myth that some unarmed 18 year old was shot for no reason whatsoever.

    Meanwhile, back in Washington…

The ribs are being provided by the Ferguson looters…

Most people still don’t know the full story about why Travon Martin wasn’t in school.

Just more of the same from Eric Holder’s “Dept of Justice”.

C’mon folks, its just a riot or two. Gotta keep the base motivated y’know?

Holder’s DOJ says they will redo the autopsy. They object to the release of information that shows that Brown was a thug. How much you want to bet the plan was to throw the Ferguson police under the bus and continue to foment racial tension? This was the obama plan to juice up the base and save the elections in November.

This looks like it is another lefty narrative like Trayvon that is leaving the rails. That’s the problem with race baiting. It doesn’t pay off the way the race baiters think anymore.

    • “Dammit – when even Jesse Jackson gets booed, you’ve got a problem!”

Interesting that, coincidentally, about the time these riots started, unchecked illegal immigration stopped, and there are no problems in the Middle East anymore. I mean, it must be like that, because otherwise it would still be a big topic on 24-hour cable news, right?

      Hey, look! A squirrel!

    • LiberalNightmare

Makes me wonder what was found in the first autopsy.

    • LiberalNightmare

Our raceterbators aren’t as smart as they think they are.

They keep trying to stir shit up with false narratives like Zimmerman and now Ferguson, rather then work on the real problems. Why? Because there is no advantage for them in solving the real problems.

      • Brett Buck

No advantage? It’s far worse than that. They are creating the problems in the first place, just so they can have a cause to rail against.

Nixon was on TV denouncing the release of the video, saying it inflamed things. How can an American elected official denounce the release of public record information? Oh wait, they hide it all of the time.

    • jim_m

Because he’s a dem and he believes that the unrest was going to benefit his party. Dems get a fraction of the white vote. Their electoral success is built on suppressing the white vote and energizing minorities to vote. This video does the opposite.

In the same way the autopsy which shows that Brown was shot in the front and not the back must now be repeated by the criminally corrupt DOJ so they can make some sort of claim that this was a civil rights issue. Expect their autopsy to throw doubt on the entire issue so they can prolong the controversy.

The dems don’t care if a story inflames people. They only care that it inflames the people they want.

      • Commander_Chico

Yes if more information was released earlier, the riots might not have happened.

On the other hand, some people just are looking for a reason to riot.

        • jim_m

          Both are true.

Some people ARE just looking for a reason to riot.

Some people are looking to give them a reason.

  • jim_m

The lefty media is on the job trying to drum up more unrest by reporting ignorance and lies. Ryan Reilly from Huffpo asks:

I believe these are rubber bullets, can anyone confirm? #Fergurson

Obviously this moron has never stayed in a Hyatt or flown international. Exactly how sheltered does one have to be to mistake an earplug for a bullet?

    • Jwb10001

It’s absolutely amazing how many people get shot in the ear with rubber bullets.

  • ohio granny

Eric Holder and Obama encouraging and defending blacks acting like rabid dogs running wild. Why should anyone be surprised? They both hate whites (probably even the whites that agree with them) and hate this country as founded. Our so-called MSM are nothing but defenders and enablers for the lying, cheating, thieving thugs known as the democrat party.

After the Benghazi video fiasco, I don’t think Obama or anyone in his administration should be commenting about the impact a video may have on a potentially violent situation.

  • Darko714

The race hoax narrative unravels again. Only about ten (mostly white) dweebs and a few dozen looters showed up for the riots anyway. Total embarrassment for the activists and the media.

  • ddanimald

They want to start a civil war to distract from the fact he is starting world war 3.
