From the “You Must Be Kidding” Files: Pat Robertson said what???

Are You Insane
“When Pat Robertson can still surprise you with insanely horrible things that come out of his mouth, at least that’s some evidence that you’re not totally jaded yet.” – Jamie Frevele, . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

Here is more from the above-quoted Mediaite post.

A friend of a woman mourning the loss of her three-year-old wrote in to The 700 Club asking what to tell her friend when asked how a good God would let some ill children live but let her child die. In his infinite wisdom, Robertson said that God can see the big picture of life and probably killed her child before he or she could become Adolf Hitler.

The Mediaite post gives Pat Robertson’s exact quote, which is the following.

As far as God’s concerned, He knows the end from the beginning and He sees a little baby and that little baby could grow up to be Adolf Hitler, he could grow up to be Joseph Stalin, he could grow up to be some serial killer, or he could grow up to die of a hideous disease. God sees all of that, and for that life to be terminated while he’s a baby, he’s going to be with God forever in Heaven so it isn’t a bad thing.

I watched the video clip from The 700 Club in which Pat Robertson makes his comment, and yes, Mediaite quotes him correctly.

It seems to me that Pat has once again put his foot in his mouth (except for the part about the baby going to Heaven).

Granted, I don’t know anyone who still believes that Pat has any credibility left, especially not after his goof pertaining to the 2012 presidential election. Prior to that election, Pat was a guest on Benny Hinn’s TV show, during which time Pat declared that Mitt Romney would win the 2012 election. When Benny asked Pat why he believed that, Pat replied, “Because the LORD told me.”

Side Note: The fact that I have quoted from Mediaite doesn’t mean that I favor that website.

He’s an idiot. For one thing, why did Hitler stay alive then?

Of course, he blamed the gays for 9/11, too.

Now if he were a radical Muslim Cleric the Muslims would be threatening your life for this. You’re just like Pam Geller saying these provocative things about a religious leader like Pat Robertson. But hey he’s a Christian so the stupid stuff he says is fair game, and I believe it is absolutely fair game. In fact let’s put up billboards with the stupid stuff he says and just see if any Christians try to kill anyone over it. They of course won’t. Now please respond and tell me how terribly these Muslims were treated in the 7th century. While you’re doing that remember the Roman’s fed Christians to the lions, the NAZI’s nearly wiped out the Jews in Europe, then please show me the 21st century beheaded Italians and Germans that resulted from these atrocities.

From the who gives a f*ck files… David Robinson alerts us to the comments of an idiot whose disorganized thinking has value only as comedy, and yet discusses these lunatic ravings as though they had the public policy impact of words spoken from the Oval Office.

This individual has been nothing but a pathetic clown for decades. Now that his brain is probably beginning to melt, we should expect for his idiotic remarks to become even more outrageous.

What’s that saying? “All lives have a purpose, even if that purpose is to serve as a warning to others” or something like that.

I don’t believe in his politics or his crazy opinions, but I’ve always enjoyed watching Pat Robertson’s 700 CLUB. There’s some great inspirational stories on that show and some of their news reporting covers some important religious freedom stories not covered in the mainstream media. I draw a distinction between the message and the messenger…
