OPEN THREAD: On Independence Day, Fewer Americans Say They are ‘Extremely Proud’ to be Americans

Consider this the Independence Day holiday weekend open thread.

But first….

Gallup polling has found that in the age of Obama there are fewer Americans who say they are “extremely proud” to be an American.

Yes, Obama is succeeding in destroying America one American at a time.

So, he has that going for him… which is nice.

FBI Says "No Credible ISIS Threats Against US" -- Really? Then WHY Do They Have 56 Command Centers?
They must NOT speak, publish, circulate, or communicate opposition in any way

I would wager tbat this has declined in part due to the emarrassingly inept, outrageously corrupt, offensively racialist amd increasingly fascist obama administration.

For one, I’m extremely proud to be an American. Jews can live here in freedom without oppression like so much of the world has at times manifested. And gladly, Jews will join the American military to keep that freedom free….

I’m sure that pointless wars, torture, NSA spying on everyone, and checkpoints have nothing to do with this.

    Happy Independence Day!

I think if you look at the numbers, the reduction in who enthusiastically responds or identifies as “proud to be an American” is age-based.

Younger people are far less nationalistic, while also being less inclined to be affiliated with a religion. In short, they grew up in a different world and things simply change.

I am not sure how this is Obama’s fault, but I am sure many here see it that way.

Since the weekend is nearly over let’s celebrate the freedom of the Open Thread before it is too late:

PA governor vetoes privatized liquor sales, says it would raise prices and reduce selection

“This legislation falls short of a responsible means to reform our state liquor system and to maximize revenues to benefit our citizen,” Governor Wolf said. “It makes bad business sense for the Commonwealth and consumers to sell off an asset, especially before maximizing its value. During consideration of this legislation, it became abundantly clear that this plan would result in higher prices for consumers. In the most recent case of another state that pursued the outright privatization of liquor sales, consumers saw higher prices and less selection.”

Yes, and as the link goes on further to say the prices for alcohol in Washington State did indeed go up. They went up due to a massive tax increase.

And we all know that the primary comment from people escaping the old Soviet Union was a shock at how little variety and how few choices there were in our supermarkets.

Once again the left has lied to the public about reality and used government fiat to make life less liveable by reducing our choices and increasing our costs for the sake of lining their own pockets.
