Obama Takes Pledge to Defend the USA Out of Oath of Allegiance for New Citizens

Obama has decided that newly naturalized Americans will no longer have to pledge to defend the USA against enemies. So, he’s taken out the part of the pledge requiring new citizens to bear arms on behalf of the United States or perform noncombatant duties in the armed forces in times of war.

This month Obama’s U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services ruled that effective on July 21 of this year, candidates for naturalization will be able to skip the services clause while taking the oath to become Americans.

So that means that in an age when people are streaming here to pretend to become Americans in order to commit acts of terror, now Obama won’t even ask them to mouth the words that as newly minted citizens they will defend the USA against foreign enemies.

The current oath reads as follows:

“I hereby declare, on oath, that I absolutely and entirely renounce and abjure all allegiance and fidelity to any foreign prince, potentate, state, or sovereignty, of whom or which I have heretofore been a subject or citizen; that I will support and defend the Constitution and laws of the United States of America against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I will bear arms on behalf of the United States when required by the law; that I will perform noncombatant service in the Armed Forces of the United States when required by the law; that I will perform work of national importance under civilian direction when required by the law; and that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; so help me God.”

Notice what is at the end of that oath? Will Obama next move to end the “so help me God” part of the oath? You can bet on it.

But that is nothing compared to the fact that Obama is now giving succor to enemies of the USA by allowing pretenders to come here and now won’t even have to mouth the words that they will come to the defense of the USA.

I guess Obama felt that the millions of Muslims he’s importing into the country would feel uncomfortable pledging that they would defend the USA?

Am I a liberal now for sharing this... and agreeing with it?

That’s OK. There isn’t a lefty in this country who would defend this nation from its enemies.

    • Commander_Chico

All chickenhawks will defend this nation to the last drop of some other kid’s blood.

Better than being 1) a traitor like you and 2) a stolen valor fake vet like you

Take Cheeko as a case in point.

  • Hank_M

Since we effectively have open borders and no enforcement, are there any people stupid enough to actually, you know, follow the “laws” toward becoming US citizens?
    Really, what’s the use?

  • PerceiveToBeWise

Concerning Obama, Marcus Tullius Cicero had a few choice words that appear to be appropriate concerning his latest action:
“A nation can survive its fools, and even the ambitious. But it cannot survive treason from within. An enemy at the gates is less formidable, for he is known and carries his banner openly. But the traitor moves amongst those within the gate freely, his sly whispers rustling through all the alleys, heard in the very halls of government itself. For the traitor appears not a traitor; he speaks in accents familiar to his victims, and he wears their face and their arguments, he appeals to the baseness that lies deep in the hearts of all men. He rots the soul of a nation, he works secretly and unknown in the night to undermine the pillars of the city, he infects the body politic so that it can no longer resist. A murderer is less to fear.”

He didn’t take it out. People who are pacifists, conscientious objectors, or oppose forced government service on religious or moral grounds can take it out at their option. Anyone else can leave it in.

This is consistent with the First Amendment.

Really? So why the ruling then?

    • jim_m

      “…when required by the law”

Since there is a conscientious objector exemption for military service there is no need to refuse to say this oath.

You would know that if you knew anything about the military. But you don’t because you are a fraud.

      • Commander_Chico

Um no, if you’re taking an oath without an intention to fulfill the oath, it’s meaningless.

        • jim_m

No, you can say it with full honesty knowing that the law provides for your conscience. Conscience, something an amoral jerk like you cannot relate to.

    • That is essentially what I said… “candidates for naturalization will be able to skip the services clause…” Note WILL BE ABLE.

Obama is an enemy of the USA.
