First, the bad stuff. From ABC News: Texas HS Football Assistant Coach Admits to Telling Players to Hit Referee, Principal Says

An assistant coach at John Jay High School in San Antonio, Texas confessed to his principal that he ordered players to go after the referee during a recent football game, according to an ESPN report, citing a signed statement from the principal. According to the statement, obtained by ESPN’s “Outside the Lines,” the school’s principal, Robert Harris, says coach Mack Breed admitted to him and head Coach Gary Gutierrez that he “directed the students to make the referee pay for his racial comments and calls.”

Kevin Durant has been cleared to play following a long, complicated recovery from a Jones fracture in his foot that was initially hurt during the preseason last year. Thunder General Manager Sam Presti made the announcement during his annual ‘State of the Thunder’ address before training camp.

    I could never think of Berra without thinking about what Jim Bouton wrote about him in Ball Four – that Berra’s odd sayings (“Always go to other people’s funerals, otherwise they won’t go to yours.”) weren’t the product of cleverness – Berra was just dumb.

    Bouton also wrote about Berra scratching his naked balls over a platter of cold cuts meant for a team family buffet. I hope that image stays with you as it has with me.

    Strangely, in his early years Yogi Berra was thought of in negative terms for his less than good looks and rumors that he was not real bright. Then,the Yogi Bear cartoons debuted, and had a spillover effect, making Yogi Berra a beloved figure as well.(BTW, one of best shticks is impressions, and I do a mighty fine Yogi Bear impression as did one of my girlfriends, where we could do great dueling Yogi Bears. I do his sidekick, Boo Boo as well…)
