I really loved him as an actor on LAW & ORDER and in other films. He was a very fine character actor. I think many conservatives wanted him to be the new Reagan, which he was not. His brief presidential run was characterized as being mostly “effortless” by most observers, although some staffers claim that as U.S. Senator he often put in long days working until 1am in the morning, although very few of his own proposals ever became law. He may not have left a great imprint as a politician, but regardless he was a great personality who lived an incredible life. God rest his soul.

He was a very good actor I really liked. I was always a fan of works. He seemed like a president straight from central casting, where I was deeply surprised when his presidential campaign fizzled. Maybe it was bad campaign handlers who did not well serve a good and honorable man.
