Snipers Kill 4 Police Officers, Injure 7 Others At Protests Against Police Shootings In Dallas

dallas_shooting

Dallas Police reported:

Tonight it appears that two snipers shot ten police officers from elevated positions during the protest/rally. Three officers are deceased, two are in surgery and three are in critical condition

The death toll later went up to four, and one more injured. The perpetrators appear to have planned and executed an ambush against police in a pre-planned, calculated manner. They specifically did not target the protester, who by all accounts were peacefully marching and being protected and escorted by police.

Police initially were looking for this person of interest.

Cm0FciQWIAAi_2y

It appears he has turned himself in, and may not have been involved. The Dallas News video below shows him among the crowd after the shootings, still armed but not shooting. It is legal in Texas to openly carry rifles and pistols.

The protests followed police shootings of two black men by police in Baton Rogue, Louisiana and St. Paul, Minnesota. The aftermath of the shooting of Philando Castile, a 32-year-old school cafeteria manager, was captured on video by his girlfriend on Facebook.

A sad and totally unacceptable breakdown in rule of law and civil order. Civil society cannot exist without these public servants to ensure public order. Our prayers should go out to the victims and their families here.

    • jim_m

They were just following the instructions of Dear Leader: “If you get hit, we will punch back twice as hard.”

  • yetanotherjohn

The MSM keep wringing their hands on the right fomenting violence, but it always seems that the violence comes from the left. We live in a broken world, but that doesn’t mean we should try to break it more. May God give His peace that passes all understanding to the friends and families that have been impacted.

  • Commander_Chico

Chico predicted this kind of sniper terrorist TTP, did not expect it from BLM though

5 dead now. What I read looked like good cops.

  • TheyTukRJobz

I am sad, angry and upset.
I cannot help but lay blame on all those people who have pushed a line of “racist cops” or “cops hunting blacks” since the “hands up, don’t shoot” hoax in Ferguson. Or all those who have been in a position to speak out against such hateful rhetoric, but have chosen not to based on political considerations.

  • pennywit

    I see nothing good here.

    • Commander_Chico

USA is entering an insurgency cycle, like Iraq or Syria.

There will be insurgent groups of all kinds in the USA’s near future.

      • jim_m

Shooter was a US veteran, the exact person that Chico says should be the only kind of person allowed to legally posses a gun.

But ya the war comes home.

          • And you shall stay away.

          • Commander_Chico

Ya I will stay away. I won my war. You fucked it up.

          • Your party has long since pissed away all military successes and continues to do so.

          • Commander_Chico

My party is the Chico party. We win our wars on the battlefield and in the bedroom.

          • jim_m

Nope. Just pointing out that you are the last person who should be taken seriously on this subject.

  • jim_m

0bama has delivered 8 years of racially based hatred toward the nation’s police. Ever since “the police acted stupidly” he has been busy tearing down the police and making racially charged accusations against them.

And of course the reality is that police do show race based ‘favoritism’ with regard to how willing they are to shoot someone. They are less willing to shoot blacks on account of the likelihood of being called racist.

    • Hgg61688

Interesting. Not a word of sympathy or concern but an immediate leap into the politics of it.

      • jim_m

Yeah, because when people are killed we are supposed to allow a week for leftists to blame guns, to blame the NRA, to blame conservatives.

This was a politically and racially motivated killing. The event was intended to send a political statement. It isn’t inappropriate to discuss the politics of it.

I will note that I wasn’t the first on this thread to make the political statement. But apparently, I was the one who struck you closest to home.

        • Hgg61688

Perhaps it was the rant directed at your President that caught my attention. Sorry.

          • jim_m

Yeah, caught your attention so much that you created your profile just to comment on this and this alone.

I’m sorry. He has said that he doesn’t represent the people who didn’t vote for him. Not my president.

I have quite a few friends in law enforcement. I feel outrage against what has happened and sympathy for the families of the victims. I don’t believe that sympathy is shown by giving a pass to the people responsible for creating the mindset that made this happen, for creating the atmosphere of racial hatred in this country.

I know that police are far from pure. But I also know that racially based hatred has been stoke against them. If you want to debate the truth of that then be my guest.

          • Scalia

He is posting from different IP addresses, so it appears he definitely wants to keep his anonymity. The fact that he created a Disqus account to reply to you implies he might have interacted with you under a different name.

          • jim_m

            too funny

          • Hgg61688

Lol. You must be paranoid too. Yes it’s true. From my home on my IMac and the other on my IPad.

Recently started reading this blog out of curiosity. Thought I might like to post here. Yes, I am a liberal, no doubt about it. Proud of it. Happy to be one.

Yes it’s true. From my home on my IMac and the other on my IPad.

Yes, from different parts of the country too. Carry on with what you’re doing. We just find it odd that you create a Disqus account just to jump in here, but then again, liberals are odd.

          • WHO’S THE BUSTER

I am surprised that his IP use is publicly discussed or relevant.

I had to sign up for Disqus the first time I commented on this website.

I do not go to any other sites that use Disqus.

          • jim_m

There have been numerous trolls who have signed on and spammed a thread on a specific issue and then disappeared. It is a possible indicator that someone is not really serious that they have never posted anywhere else, particularly if that person is a lefty.

          • Hgg61688

Oh, I’ll be around. Have no fear. Responded to another thread here.

          • jim_m

            Yes. LOL. I saw that.

          • Scalia

I’m not sharing what those addresses are, and I told him to carry on. He can mask his IP if he chooses. That’s his privilege, and I couldn’t care less what you find relevant (since you often offer irrelevant arguments).

          • Commander_Chico

It is close to a violation of ECPA or CFAA.

            In any event, asshole behaviour.

You can look at my IPs all day, living the dream.

          • Scalia

Not even close to being close.

          • Hgg61688

If you consider the south side of town where I live and the west side cigar shoppe I frequent with my IPad I guess that might be different parts of the country to some. Not sure how but I’ll go along with the thought.

          • Scalia

            Try different states.

          • Hgg61688

I assure that’s not true. Could it be that I first signed up for Disqus and then saw I could use Facebook to sign in?

          • Commander_Chico

Welcome. Don’t let these a-holes try to intimidate you or drive you away with their spook shit.

          • Hgg61688

Been around too long been through too much to be scared away by words. But thanks.

          • Given that 0bama in both word and deed has only been the President representing the interests of those who voted for him, you may rest assured he is neither Jim’s nor My President. He is, instead, the President [of 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue].

      • jim_m

Nor was this a thread explicitly asking for sympathy on the event. It was about the news of the event. This is a political blog, for discussion of the news and politics.

The only information we have on motive is the statement related from the police that the one shooter said that he “wanted to kill white people, kill white police officers.” Where would he get public support for that opinion? The he had a reason to attack white people and police? Certainly not from the President who supported the bogus Ferguson meme, or the President who said that the police acted stupidly, certainly not the President who said that if he had a son it would have looked like the drug abusing gang-banger, Trayvon Martin.

I suppose hand wringing is in order. Actually confronting the issue of racism and hate and what is driving it not so much.

        • Hgg61688

Well I do agree that the issue has to be confronted. But we don”t have enough people on all sides willing to do that. I wonder do you feel outrage about the police and sympathy for the families affected in Baton Rouge and Minnesota?

          • jim_m

Yes I do. But there wasn’t anything on Wizbang to react to. In any event, there was nothing in either event that in any way justifies this.

Note, that the Congressional Black Caucus has already released a statement blaming guns. Apparently black people are incapable of resisting the siren call to murder someone else if there is a gun around. That seems to be the message from the left.

          • Hgg61688

What? “….black people are incapable of resisting the siren call to murder…” Surely there must be a typo in there somewhere?

          • jim_m

Just telling you what the position of the Congressional Black Caucus is. Otherwise, why is it that white people are able to own guns and not murder people but we have to have gun control to stop their constituents?

Not my beliefs. These are the beliefs of the left.

          • Hgg61688

Gee I don’t remember reading or hearing that the Congressional Black Caucus was are issuing a siren call to black people to “murder someone else”. Anything to support that?

          • Subtext and logical extensions are clearly not a part of your “intellectual” tool-kit.

          • Hgg61688

I would say that kind of paranoid wing nuttery thinking is, thankfully, not part of my intellectual toolkit.

          • Clearly.

          • jim_m

Neither is reading with anything resembling comprehension.

          • LiberalNightmare

I think I see the problem with your intellectual tool kit.

          • Hgg61688

            Cute.

          • jim_m

Can you not read? Clearly not.

I said that the CBC was claiming that blacks are unable to resist the siren call. Not that the CBC was issuing a siren call. Are you a fucking moron?

          • Hgg61688

Can you point out where the Black Caucus is claiming what you claim they are claiming?

          • jim_m

Please explain why there is a need for gun control when there are over 100M homes with guns in them and there are 11000 homicides with guns, predominantly amongst blacks (look it up, blacks are statistically WAY over represented)? Why should we have to revoke everyone’s rights for this tiny sliver of the population?

The only reason is that these people committing the crimes are genetically incapable of not committing them and therefore we must find an alternative.

The only reason for banning guns from everyone is because the people who commit murder like this cannot possibly be trusted to control their urges around a gun and that removing guns will eliminate ALL 11000+ homicides, because without a gun NONE of them would ever occur.

          • Vagabond661

As far as I can tell there are investigations to both those events. this dumbest thing we can do is preempt the results with our on misinformed conclusions.

One fact we do know is 5 officers are dead. Needlessly. If a group claims responsibility, I suggest the FBI hunt them down, lock them up and put them on trial. Unless they are still having trouble finding intent…..

          • jim_m

Oh no. The Lefty governor of Minn and 0bama have already declared these as racially motivated. We just need the prosecutor from Baltimore to start another “Freddy Grey” prosecution.

      • Commander_Chico

That’s the way he rolls. Everything partisan.

      • Vagabond661
        • Hgg61688

You consider it politics. Others see it as a a legitimate issue that ought to be sanely discussed by everyone.

          • jim_m

Yes, rational people believe that people commit crimes. You believe that inanimate objects exert mysterious influence upon people leading them to commit crimes.

I would discuss the issue of crime with a sane person. Someone like yourself who believes in the occult influence of inanimate objects I do not consider rational.

          • Vagabond661

If others think we need more gun control, they are not sane enough to discuss the issue.

      • jim_m

Apparently, it’s OK for the President to make it about politics

        • Hgg61688

it seems that your view is that what you don’t like is “politics.”

          • jim_m

No dumbass. I simply point out that you are only offended when someone makes a political point you disagree with and you lamely try to shame them into silence but you rise in applause when you lor and savior rises to blame everything on the gun and cannot blame the racism he has stoked or, like in Orlando, cannot even acknowledge the existence of radical islam.

You bet what I said was political. If you don’t like it tough. There is no right to not be offended, which is a lesson that as a liberal you have likely never learned,

          • Hgg61688

Wow, you are quick with the insults aren’t you? You’ve read a few posts from me and already you know me. Amazing.

          • jim_m

Shallow lefties aren’t difficult to figure out.

          • Commander_Chico

He gets his rocks off insulting from his cubicle.

  • So much garbage on my social media newsfeeds this morning. People pouring gasoline on the flames. It’s sickening, depressing, disgusting.

What ails this once great country will take divine healing. There’s no way to get around this. It’s factual. It’s obvious. It’s real.

We should all cry out for that healing, and there’s no better way in my view for that to take place than to petition those who’ve been recognized by the Church as dispensers of that healing.

Saints of God, pray for us.

    • Commander_Chico

You said. Move to Spain, Rick. Traditional values and still very Catholic.

  • Retired military

I saw one news article where they interviewed someone who supposedly saw one of the shooters from their hotel balcony and immediately identified an AR15 and high capacity magazines.
Lets see. They would be probably at least 60 feet away at a minimum yet can identify the weapon and how big the magazines are from that distance. Yeah right.

  • Hank_M

This is brought to us by the left. From biased media reporting on crime to leftist politicians stirring the racial pot at every opportunity. All the while accusing fly over Americans of being racists.

The real racists are the left. And they now have a son and he looks like Micah Johnson.

  • jim_m

The DNC has finally released a statement.

Of course they don’t bother mentioning Dallas until the end of the second to last paragraph. They focus on the victims in the police shootings and can only muster a weak, “Tonight’s shooting of officers in Dallas is unacceptable.” and follows that with a statement that basically says that the police are dead because we didn’t bow to the left’s racial agenda.

While the DNC’s “Heartfelt prayers and thoughts are with the families of both victims”, the families of the policemen so callously murdered apparently can go f*ck themselves.

  • WHO’S THE BUSTER

The fact that the two highly publicized and filmed police shootings were directly followed by the deaths of the Dallas police by an assailant has unfortunately led to further polarization among people. Now if people comment about the deaths in Baton Rouge and Minnesota they are assumed to be insensitive to the Dallas Police tragedy. If sympathy and outrage are due to the Dallas shootings there is an immediate assumption that a person is insensitive to the aforementioned two deaths in Minnesota and Baton Rouge.

These three events, while separate, are forever linked and will only serve to paint people into ever shrinking corners.

You would think these episodes would help foster solutions, but I simply do not envision that as a likely scenario.

    • jim_m

No. If you have something sensible to say about the other two shootings then go ahead and say it. Both those shootings were tragic. It would be good to get the full story on them. As for the MN shooting all we get is the after the fact witness of the video taken by the girlfriend. It would be good if there were a body cam from the officer, but it appears that there is not.

One can be saddened by all three shootings. It seems to be only the leftists who carry on that you have to choose a side in the matter.

      • Scalia

Plus the fact that they consistently shoot at the wrong target. The racial animus must be addressed, but they’d rather talk about banning guns.

        • jim_m

They created the racial animus. They want racism. It is why they exist, to pit one group against another. That is how they get their power.

Honestly, if blacks and whites got along, what would the dems run on?
