Weekend Caption Contest™ Winners February 10, 2017

This week’s Weekend Caption Contest™ featured a POTUS prominently wearing a flag pin. Haven’t seen that in…oh…about 8 years! Nice change! There were over two hundred entries so we have double winners per place. The assignment this week was to caption the following picture:

Here are the winning entries:

1) (Mary Gehman) – ““Despite the look on my face, you’re still talking…”

(fustian24) – “I sense a tweet building.

2) (Mike) – “Trumpnac the Magnificent

(cathymv) – “The Great Karnac is seeing a vision – He sees Guam not tipping over, Putin not invading Korea, nuclear war not happening, the 9th district not dictating foreign policy, the liberals not getting the congress or the senate, Schumer not being in front of a camera, UC Berkeley not getting government money, DiBlasio not being mayor of New York, Mexico not being able to stop the wall, no house fires, the democrats not winning in 2020, CNN and MSNBC still suck, and the biggest vision – literally – Hillary still not being President of the United States

3) (yetanotherjohn) – “Looks like I picked the wrong week to stop stringing up appellate judges from lamp posts.

(Paul Hooson) – “Ah, it’s all fun and games until someone gets elected…

4) (Jwb10001) – “Jesus tap dancing Christ, I didn’t even want this damn job!

(Rick Adams) – ““You mean to tell me that all that money I’ve been paying into social security ISN’T in a bulging shoebox with my name on it in some vast government warehouse, right next to the Ark of the Covenant?”

5) (Retired military) – “I’m not quite sure what is going on here but it will be followed by the MSM going around in sack cloth and ashes

(Joe Humphrey) – “You mean to say pelosi is still alive?

6) (Rock ThisTown) – ““Matt Ryan, Paul Ryan – what difference, at this point, does it make? Get Brady & Belichick in here.”

The Readers Choice Award this week goes to:

Honorable Mention(s):

Can this bozo [brucehmorrhoid] comment in any thread without converting it into a yuuge pisser?
No, Mr. President.

And the sealed question was: “What do you have left over after dismembering Senator Elizabeth warren?”

That’s all for this weekend. A new edition of the Wizbang Weekend Caption Contest™ will debut Friday morning.

On the podium and standing beside a funny man. It doesn’t get any better than that. Well, okay, it would get better if I was standing next to Mary, but you can’t have everything.

      Standing?

      • yetanotherjohn

Pray charge your glasses and be upstanding.

  • Rock ThisTown

So Trumpnac the Magnificent’s trusty sidekick Steve McBannon hands him the envelope & he then holds it to his head:

Trumpnac: “The USS Cole, Gladys Knight, Nancy Pelosi & Chuck Schumer.”

Trumpnac then opens the envelope: “Name a ship, a Pip, a dip and a drip.”

6th Place, thanks for allowing me into the winner’s circle, Sarah! And congrats to Mary & all the other winners! Hooson’s “fun & games til someone gets elected’ cracked me up!

  • Paul Hooson

Congrats to David for his funny commentary on my many bad jokes. In all due respect to Black History Month, it was indeed Dr. Martin King Jr. who once said, “I may not get to the mountain top myself, but jokes about my lame housefire jokes surely will”. – But, darn if lightning did not strike twice(most likely setting the forest on fire as well), and I managed a surprising #3(a number #3 is of course when you sneeze and you do a #1 and #2 at the same time) and my comic take on the ages of advice from mothers for generations brought me this win… https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/2d926c8ba03ee43bab08c2e57db15b42119728f65ae91bacae8e0cd25e67e561.jpg

BTW, Martin Luther King is not to be confused with that Martin Luther who once nailed a feces on a door(or was that a thesis, I get the two confused). Some college paternity prank, I surmise…

Well I can’t fix everything in the world. But, thank you, Sarah and everyone! God bless…

  • Thanks Sarah, I thought mine was just funny, but I’ll take it with the ‘inappropriate’ tag. –rodney ‘the singularly inappropriate’ dill

BTW, Excellent firsts, by Mary and Fustian

(and just another late caption) – “Let me ‘splain it to ya Lucy.”

    • Mary Gehman

Thanks for the love! I really liked many of yours, as well!

    • sarahconnor2 BoycottTwitter

I don’t know…I kind of find dismemberment a tad inappropriate!

      • True, but it might be the kind of sentiment that Trump would wish on his enemies.

  • Mary Gehman

Wow! Thanks for first place..and I’m honored to share it with Fustian! Thanks for a great start to my rather mediocre week! Congrats to all the winners…there were many great captions submitted! God Bless and see ya’ Friday morning!

  • cathymv

Hey! Tied second with Mike!! sweet!! Mary, kudos to your number one!! and fustian, too.. with number one… I feel a tweet loading – lol, love that one cause I am such a twitter nut!! 🙂 and I got a mention of a house fire in mine!!! Good ones this week, and thanks Sarah!!

  • Rick Adams

Joe Humphrey gets the “unexpected laugh from a caption I hadn’t read” nod this time.

  • Brian Brandt

I had absolutely nuttin’ this time. If events in Oroville continue to unfold, Paul may have to stop doing house fire jokes and start house flood jokes.

    • yetanotherjohn

It is easier to do a sarcastic caption about someone you don’t support. Sigh. The burdens of kicking the other side out of office.

    • Paul Hooson

You wonder how that dam thing happened…

It’s time to call in the Army Corps Of Beavers…

Time for residents to think about turning the area into a “Little Venice” tourist trap…

An Oroville resident has a flood. The first thing he rescues is the scuba gear…

Time to revive that SEA HUNT show…

Speaking of SEA HUNT, they had to change the name of the main character to Mike Nelson after they realized that if you shout, “Mike Hunt, Mike Hunt”, it wouldn’t pass the censors…

  • Retired military

    Thanks for 5th. Appreciate it.

    • Paul Hooson

So, you’re taking the 5th then?

  • Vagabond661

    Thanks Sarah!

  • Thanks, Sarah! The vision of Carnac came to me even before I’d read any of the comments. Great minds and all that!
