Weekend Caption Contest™ Winners Week of September 1, 2017

This week’s Weekend Caption Contest™ captured one of the things I love about the American spirit. We help each other out, down to our neighbors’ pets. Take that, stupid kitten videos. The assignment this week was to caption the following picture:

Here are the winning entries:

1) (Paul Hooson) – Flea at last, flea at last, great dog almighty, flea at last!

(fustian24) – Interestingly, not one of them cares at all what kind of shoes Melania wore to the plane…

2) (Rick Adams) – “Extreme religious right-wing Republican prepper splurges on extravagant purchase of luxury speedboat, cavorts with underage females.” –New York Times headline.

(Brian Brandt) – My boat’s sound system comes with 24 sub-woofers.

3) (Mike) – “Dalmatian the torpedoes. Full speed ahead!”

(rodney dill) – Houston… we have a problem.

4) (Stephen_Macklin) – The Trouble With Tribbles

(cathymv) – Trump supporter draining the swamp one bitch at a time

5) (TheyTukRJobz) – Looks like Huang’s Vietnamese Restaurant in Houston will be serving dinner tonight.

(WHO’S THE BUSTER) – Rounding up all the “alien” dogs, English Bulldogs, French Poodles, Great Danes and Chihuahuas and sending them back to where they came from. Yeah, the “Dream” is over.

6) (RadiCalMan) – Ya got’s yer Cajun Navy and yer Lone Star Navy, well make way for the K9 patrol

(McG) – Larry the Cable Guy prepares for a fox hunt, Texas style.

The Readers Choice Award this week goes to:

(yetanotherjohn) – Bubba, the Bible says TWO of each kind.

Best Reuse of the Caption of Choice for the Trump Administration:

I dont know but Hillary isnt President so things cant be that bad.

That’s all for this weekend. A new edition of the Wizbang Weekend Caption Contest™ will debut Friday morning.

Ah, shucks everyone! Thank you for this high honor where I only put into words the thoughts of Martin Luther’s dog, King, and what King might just say. BTW, anyone have a dog biscuit they can spare…

  • Retired military

THanks for best reuse. It never gets old.

    • cathymv

      It most certainly doesn’t

  • yetanotherjohn

I got flooded out this week, but congratulations to all.

    • sarahconnor2 #TermLimitsNow

Whoops. Something didn’t save properly. I fixed it. The Bubba comment was supposed to originally be there.

      • yetanotherjohn

See, read your Bible and good things will happen even if you don’t expect for them to happen. Thanks.

    • Paul Hooson

All joking aside, I lost my home to foreclosure this week despite a $700,000+ gross income and will end up living in my van just like Chris Farley’s “guy living in a van down by the river character”. Expensive problems with bad business property tenants who owe me on the order of $1 million dollars, left me as their landlord with expensive liens of theirs to pay off and $81,500 in lawyer bills and other financial damage, completely ruining me financially. I have deep sympathy for the flood victims as many insurance companies my argue that a flood is “an act of God” and leave these victims with zero economic recourse.

      • fustian24

Sorry Paul. Best of luck getting this sorted out!

      • yetanotherjohn

Sorry to hear it Paul. All kidding intended, I suppose a house fire had to cross your mind as the foreclosure went through. I pray that you recover it all soon.

    • fustian24

Very sorry to hear this. The main thing, of course, is that you are safe!

      Stuff can be replaced…

    • Sorry to hear that. I have some daughters in the Cy-Fair area, but they’ve been out of the flood plain.

      • yetanotherjohn

Maybe it was in bad taste, but the “flooded out” was a reference to not getting an award this week (though that turned out to be in error). I have a 90 year old mother, a brother, sister, three nephews and three nieces in the Houston-Katy area. One’s place of business was flooded to waist level and one is dog tired after working 12 on-12 off shifts for the 911 call center, but all are safe and their houses are high and dry. As my sister-in-law said “Pop tarts taste pretty good” as they delved deep into the pantry before being able to get to a store.

  • Sarah, soggy doggy thanks!

  • Vagabond661

    Thanks Sarah!

  • Thanks Sarah!

  • Red Five

    It’s “y’all”, not “ya’ll”.

  • Rock ThisTown

Dang, I got skunked this week! Personal fav was BB’s ’24 sub-woofers’ – excellent on so many levels – but that’s not to take away from everyone else . . congratz to all on some great captions, esp Hooson @ #1!
