It's about time. MTV's real world is heading to San Diego. Sun and surf equal exposed bodies and higher ratings. They start filming next month so they are likely to get the best beach weather of the year. If MTV history is any guide expect the group house to be in Mission Beach, Pacific Beach or La Jolla.
Casting is underway for seven strangers picked to live in the house. The series starts in January 2004.

It's gotta be La Jolla or points north. I can't think of any beachfront property in PB or MB that would be big enough and secure enough.
I could be wrong though.

I thought about that, but RW Chicago was right in the heart of a residential area and they completely deck out the loft with security systems, etc. I wouldn't be surprised if you are right, but I think they would want the scenery shots from the boardwalk. Maybe they'll have some late night drunken scenes at Roberto's at the Coaster...

I think La Jolla as well, next guess would be Mission Beach. From what I know about San Diego County, there are more things to do in these areas.

I drove by the house last night after being tipped off from my fisherman neighbor. It's in Point Loma right on the harbor. It's in an odd location, no houses around the area. It's bright blue and they were working on it when I drove by.
Should be interesting, dirty fisherman and MTV!

As far as I can tell it is. On the way up some guys working on a car in the parking lot adjacent to the docks asked me if I was working there. He seemed to know about it. There were also a dispropotionate amount of security people/fences for any other kind of building. The house is the same as the realworldhouses.com guy had pics of. I asked one of the security guys when someone would be moving in, and he just smiled. It has a big volleyball pit on the side facing harbor drive and some exercise equipment in the bottom floor with the large window. If you are in SD, check it out yourself and see what you think.

I just think this will be the best Real World ever because OB is the most BEAUTIFUL place in the world! I especially love to go to Tony's - it's a FINE BAR! Not only that, I used to spend lots of time down at the docks - I know they'll love hanging out with all the fishermen!

I am so sad that I moved away from SD last summer. I'm thinking I might move back just so that I can stalk the Real World house. My husband's parents own a boat that is docked nearby; I'm thinking about living on it so I can spy on the cast! If I pull the boat up close enough to the shore I could probably get some great candid shots of all the guys!!!

We are the biggest fans, we never miss an episode. Kris tried out for this season and didn't make it, I am hoping to get in next year's version "Real World Houston". We are planning on having parties every night that the show is on so that we can giggle and scream when they show clips of places we've been! Whoooo!

Totally gnarly dudes, like oh my god totally no way for shure. This is like the greatest thing to happen since Dick Van Patten's Potato and Duck flavor crunch balls! I am sooo excited (does anyone have a plastic bag?). I am really hoping that they have a pet area like the doggie jail at my house. I bet that if they have any dogs there I could kick their asses. They should bring back "Puck" he had a cool name and lots of "tats". Well I used to mark my territory in that area but now that MTV is there I really want to go back and make sure the area is well covered.

hey guys....why the hell Point Loma? That's the MOST lame location ever...they should have picked downtown San Diego, that's where all the life is. Pacific Beach even, for christ sakes. I'm very dissapointed they picked the shabbiest area of San Diego. Hillcrest, Beach towns, and Downtown woul dhave been a much better choice.

well,
first of all point loma is an awesome location! I go to PLNU and one of our dorms was listed in surf mag as the best dorm at a uni to surf at/and the hot chicks add to the atmosphere....
and...yeah theres ob...mexico.
rw will see how cool sd is (and how much better it is than l.a.)
my cousin is a manager for an apt complex in point loma and she says that the director for the real world leased a one bedroom across the hall from her.

Yo Delia...the papers may have said shooting doesn't start till October, but umm...better check your sources again cuz -- it's been taping for a good 3 weeks now. I've partied with them at Decos and PB Bar N Grill. And I suggest you drive by the house again, cuz the cast moved in a few weeks ago (I was at the airport when a couple of the cast members arrived!)

Frankie has short red hair a lip ring and had on black glasses when I saw her. I wouldn't call her hot. Randy wasn't that good looking.......he looked a little shaggy. Don't know about the others.
