Te-RAY-zah Heinz Kerry gave a glowing speech in Boston where she called for a more civil discourse in American politics. Then after the speech, she told a reporter to "SHOVE IT!"
It all started when a reporter for the Pittsburgh Tribune Review asked hr to clarify some of her statements. She had called some of the things going on in politics "un-American." When the reporter asked for a clarification, she denied saying it. The problem is, the whole episode was caught on tape.

Shove It,' Heinz Kerry Says to Journalist
BOSTON, July 25 -- Teresa Heinz Kerry urged home-state delegates to the Democratic National Convention to restore a more civil tone to politics, then minutes later told a journalist to "shove it."
"We need to turn back some of the creeping, un-Pennsylvanian and sometimes un-American traits that are coming into some of our politics," the wife of Democratic candidate Sen. John F. Kerry (Mass.) told fellow Pennsylvanians on Sunday night at a Massachusetts Statehouse reception.
Minutes later, Colin McNickle, editorial page editor of the conservative Pittsburgh Tribune-Review, questioned her on what she meant by the term "un-American," according to a tape of the encounter recorded by Pittsburgh station WTAE-TV.
Heinz Kerry said, "I didn't say that" several [6 -ed] times to McNickle. She turned to confer with Pennsylvania Gov. Ed Rendell and others.
When she faced McNickle again a short time later, he continued to question her, and she replied, "You said something I didn't say. Now shove it."
The video is hysterical. She pushed her way over to the guy in very 'uncivil' huff. Then she blamed right-wingers for her outburst. Typical liberal stupidity.

AND for the "Hypocrisy Daily Double" I should note that the woman who was complaining about "Un-American traits" creeping into politics, has Michael Moore speaking at her convention.
AND the California Yankee reminds us that the call for civil discourse came too late for her husband after he said of the Bush administration: "These guys are the most crooked, you know, lying group of people I've ever seen. "

Hmmm. Let's see: foreign born, reared overseas, never attended an American school, primary contacts with us little people are her cook, her maid, her gardener, and her chauffer. Now that's exactly the kind of person who should be lecturing me about being un-American.
Presumeably the American virtue to which she's appealing is knowing our place.

What I love is the fact that she spoke to her advisors and then went back for a second confrontation. This tells me that it was a calculated decision by the billionaire foreigner (who was raised a privileged white in a Portuguese colony that oppressed blacks) to attack an an American working-stiff just doing his job.
