  • Matt Drudge reports that Christie Todd Whitman and Chris Matthews were attacked by a black hooded protester at their Herald Square location. The National Debate has more on the story (with screen caps).

  • NYPD is advising that it's "hats and bats" night.

  • In a Wizbang exclusive, pictures of Al Franken's Monday confrontation on Radio Row:

    Monday evening there was an argument between Franken and a producer for the Laura Ingraham show regarding whether he had agreed to be on her program, The producer called Franken "a liar," evidentally because Franken (in his opinion) reneged on a promise to appearh on the Ingraham show. Franken called him "an asshole," then tempers flared, and push came to shove.

    Eventually Ingraham called for security. There are more pictures of the incident coming tomorrow. More details and pictures available in this update.

Apparently, security goons have been tailing Franken for the past two days, keeping him from interviewing people. It doesn't surprise me that he blows his stack after all that, but he is usually a pretty laid back guy. I doubt that he had to be 'restrained' though. If any of this is true, its laughable that the crybabies had to call security on Al, instead of handling the situation themselves.

Actually, Al Franken has done this before. At a Dean Rally in New Hampshire in late January he tackled a heckler (the heckler was a LaRouche supporter). At that time the Laura Ingraham show was taking up a collection for an Al Franken Anger Management Fund.

That was tongue-in-cheek (I think) but Mr. Franken should seriously start considering something like that. Its easier just to tell the guy to sod off and then ignore him than go and start a fight.

kevin, i was referring to al's evening activites, not his broadcast from radio row. he is wandering the convention floor at night, which is where he is tailed. i doubt it is for al's protection, as he has publicly body slammed people in the past, as metioned elsewhere in this thread.
