President Bush met with her and her family. He didn't have to do that. (Did Clinton ever meet with any families like this? Seriously....can't remember if he did or not). Now she wants another meeting (or does she?).....but what if he did meet with her again? Is *that* finally enough, or does she come back again next year? Three times is enough? Four? Five? Perhaps she has to move in with him?

I hope her family can get through to her, make her see that she's losing touch, and get her some serious help. She needs to see that she is being used in a vile way by people who are tsk-tsking and nodding sympathetically while plotting more ways to exploit her fragile emotional state.

Sheehan is now simply parotting all the talking points of the Jew hating left like a good little puppet. This woman is pissing on her son's grave, and the graves of all those who died to liberate Iraq. How disgusting.

To take Ace's comment one step further: Isn't it funny that the MSM can provide 30 cameras for coverage of a dozen left-wing protestors, and not a single camera at the NYAG's office to cover the investigation into the misappropriation to Air America of nearly a million dollars of money earmarked for disadvantaged children and the elderly? Where's the outrage? Oh, yeah, sorry...no Haliberton/Enron angle, no coverage.

This may be a little arcane,but bear with me.I remember reading a"historical fiction" by author George McDonald Fraser.He is best known for his "Flashman" series,and indesd the elderly Gen.Flashman is the source of this quote.The abckground is English suffragettes(including Flashman's "willful but voluptous" grand niece are attempting to pressure the government into women's voting rights.

Would not simply riding by and honking the horn be a first step in solving this absolutely grave national crisis? Then, maybe emissaries from both sides could convene to set up a meeting. Then, if this fails, the democrats in congress could set up an ad-hoc hearing to determine if President Bush should be impeached.

Obviously nonsense like this should not be cannot go unchallenged. The posters are equally free to express their opinion of Mrs. Sheehan's hyperbole and it is not done out of fear. It's a matter of making the fair and historic record with proper context... or at least as fair as is possible from a politically charged event. As Mrs. Sheehan escalates her histrionics, the media gravitates towards it. Fortunately, the populace then turns away. It is venues such as this one that allows people to decide what is the closest version of truth and that the fringe perpetuated by a Left-leaning media cannot make the only entry into the history books. Yes, freedom of speech is grand and getting grander.

I have not been glued to my television during this event, but I have seen some of it, and none of Ms. Sheehan's actions have displayed any histronics to me. As a matter of fact, she seems very calm and intent on her purpose and goal. Seems to me the histronics (or is it malice???) h come from "the right". What a sleazy, unamerican thing it was to destroy crosses erected in honor of our fallen soldiers.

She will be satisfied when this senseless, bloody mess in the Middle East is over and our troops are brought home. "Mission Accomplished" was a joke..it had only begun. Saddam's capture didn't mean a thing. The January elections only resulted in increased and bloodier attacks and the constitution (if it ever happens) will probably increase it even more. Our troops have inadequate armor and protection, yet when a soldier confronted Rumsfeld with this, from the look on Rumsfeld's face, one would have thought the soldier had spit in the face. That soldier had every right to address that problem. Please, can someone tell me one smart move we have made in this war.

Interesting that his/her post only addressed the part of my post, which caused him/her to insult Mrs.Sheehan. The most disgusting event so far to take place at this protest was the destruction of crosses erected in memory of our fallen soldiers. I presume he/she feels that was proper and patriotic. I believe this is just the start of many, many protests to come. Remember the 60's?...those angry, young men and women had an amazing effect on decisions made by Lyndon Johnson, which ultimately led to our withdrawal.
