Note that in the furor over McCain's absence from the supposed "cone of silence" at the Saddleback forum last Saturday night, the McCain campaign is repeatedly stating that McCain did not hear any of the proceedings... but they aren't saying he wasn't coached or fed the questions by someone who did hear the broadcast, are they...?

During Saturday night's forum in Saddleback, Senator John McCain was asked what income level constituted "rich" - and he answered $5 million or more. Other millionaires ($2 million... $3 million,... $4 million...) aren't rich, in McCain's view, and shouldn't be taxed as if they were... It makes you wonder just how out of touch John McCain is with most of Americans. So does this video...

to people that dont like WINDOWS
I say NO to LINUX!(for people that are too lazy to read my message till the end)
I have been hearing that linux is the best OS in the universe for loong time... so i just decided to try it.
Here is my story
I installed the Linux Red Hat last week and i can tell you that i am defenetly NOT impressed by the performance of this OS.
I am using Pentium II 550 MHz 64 SD Ram 15 Gb HDD
My first impressions were:
1)Hard to install
2)Periferial devices go crazy(INCOMPACTIBEL)
3)incompactible eith win apps, with documents, with internet sites.
Believe me it was not easy installing this thing on my PC. Anyway after completing the hard task(it took me nearly 3 days) i finally started running it.
Well... EXCUSE me but can anyone tell me what or where is the ultimate strength of LINUX ? I am not going to get into details but the general performance of LINUX is not the ACME of PC technology. I did not see something that I expected and i expected something BIG i mean I expectet that it'll be like 3 times faster than win2000 or so. It proved to be similar only that i didn't like the interface. IT IS NOT BETTER THAN WIN2000 in anything, believe it!
It is worse! Why ? Well it took me about 20 minutes to find out that the system is USELESS, why do i need it ? Why does anyone need it ?
Please don't tell me: work with it longer and you'll see... I cannot use it ! I need EXCEL i need WORD i need winPPT i need ProE. I need useful applications and i didn't find any excel for linux or word for linux or whatever.
My general oppinion is as follows:
Linux has neither brilliant performance nor any visable advantages to WIN2000(i compare it only with win2000).
Linux is incompactible(to anything software, hardware, people's habits, internet aplications, forms, payments ...)
Linux is NOT BETTER, it is USELESS!
I know that there are many 15-year-old PC freaks that think a computer is a tool for playing mp3 files(even mp3 commes from MS media player layer 3!) anyway...
I want to tell them something:
Look...if you don't like WINDOWS just delete it, don't write things about Microsoft about Windows or about Bill Gates, i don't care what you think about them, no one cares.
I am using WIN2000. Works GREAT. If i find something better i'll switch.
If someone makes Linux that beats win2k and supplies all needed software applications and gives a good price i shall think about getting Linux that's all!

the reason you could not find excell for linux, is because excel is a windows only program !
just like open Office (the linux version of MS office) only runs on Linux.
what is it that is it that ONLY MS word does, that OPEN Office Writer does not ? i can think of many things Open Office can do that MS office can not.
quote: "Linux is incompactible(to anything software, hardware, people's habits, internet aplications, forms, payments ...)"
linux will run some windows apps with WINE.
windows will run NO LINUX applications what so ever.
MS office work in linux !!!
incompatable with the internet ???
the internet was created on UNIX.
linux and unix are totally compatable.. windows.. dont make me laugh.
quote:"Look...if you don't like WINDOWS just delete it, don't write things about Microsoft about Windows or about Bill Gates, i don't care what you think about them, no one cares."
replace the word windows with linux, linux with windows, and bill gates with linux... and read it back to yourself.
and to rub it in a bit....
VIRII ! every time a 12 year old writes a worm in visual basic script, or any other win32 compatable thing, hundreds of thousands of windows networks go down, and cause billinos of $$$$ damage,
and to linux systems... well... they sit back laughing there asses off at the idiots who use win32 for mission criticl stuff.
and one more thing.....
since switching to linux, i do miss having to de-frag my hard drive... ohh wait... no i dont !
is that crap file system STILL around... NTFS...what a joke !
quote:"oh shut up linux suck hes right i was like him using linux 98 se and they swtched to linux and after 7 ays iw as like O MY FUCKING GOD CANT LAOD A FUCKING .EXE GONNA PAY TO INSTALL IT then i tryed geting a thing like kazaa for linux but no it need java now java cant install and suck great shits like that"
god damnit these people are such retards !!!!
windows exes dont work in linux, linux binarys dont work in windows...
i bet he is the kind of guy who goes on holiday to Japan, and comes home saying how it was such a stupid country because he couldnt even read the newspapers.
and NO, u cant use KAZAA in linux because it is a windows program, just like you cant use APOLLON or GTK-gnutella in windows.. (these are linux file syareing applications)

"Real computer knowledge" does not exist when you owe your soul to a company that you have to pay whenever they come out with a new operating system. (That's right, unless you pirate your OS, RENEGADE, you have to PAY for MICROSOFT SOFTWARE) Coming out with "A new one" means they didn't "get it right the first time", and YOU have to pay for it every time.

One of your main points, the fact that Windows doesnt run Linux, yet linux runs Windows, has a simple. explanation. For everyone, the first OS you used, is most likely a Windows OS. You get used to Windows program, but you see "the light" and switch to linux. Many people everyday switch to linux from windows, if they found no compatibilty, they would delete it, like you`ve seen. How many people switch from linux to windows? I would say very few, and if they do, they are already acustomed to windows, and dont need any linux programs.
Basicly, its just not practicle to add extra code to make Linux programs compatible with windows.
Atm, Im running on a MacOSX, but while its a nice OS, it doesnt fit my taste, so I will switch.

First of all i'd like to say i use windows, linux and mac for all kinds of things. I like them all Windows for Games, Linux and Mac for every thing else. First the guy with the 550 Pentium 2 with 64 mb ram... who the hell runs any OS made after 2000 with only 64 mb ram? Not to mention any body hear of Cross Over Office... the easiest program to install windows apps on a linux machine... hell you dont even need to isntall wine does it for you. Because of this my good friend made the switch on his laptop and actually doesn't mind it at all (he's a little sad that he can't play his favourite games on it, not that the computer even meets the requirements). I will agree that open office is not my favourite compared to Microsoft Office. But if you look at the price difference of free to houndreds of dollars. The only thing it can't do is data bases and webs. Open Office can still make html pages. And i dont ever remembering Mr. Torvalds releasing a kernel called linux 98 se. I do very much agree with Qwijibow about the whole virus thing. I laugh at those ignorant people who say windows is fucking amazing. It wasn't till microsoft released Windows Xp Service Pack 2 till they got onto that whole virus and pop-up thing. Not to mention they copy every idea that comes from Apple. Any body who wants examples just ask. Oh by the way yes you can format linux while its running the command isn't format its fdisk, for those of us who can't look somthing up. Hey Renegade "ur dumb". If you burn linux you burn down the internet. Not to mention 99% of home internet routers and many other critical devices that run off a linux kernel. Not to mention whats microsoft going to use for a kernel when they go and steal I mean make a kernel for there next server OS. And for those of you that forgot that mac 10.3 is based on linux machro kernel it would go something like this:
1-20 IQ = Windows XP
21-40 = Windows 98
41 - 50 = Windows 95
50 - 80 = Windows 2000/XP (NT Based)
80 - 150 = Linux Mac OS X.3
151+ = Program Your Own
Sure I'll have lots of compatibility and an OS that was made by people stealing ideas from Mac and Linux, not to mention totally unstable then sure Windows is a great solution.... But i like a computer that runs longer then 10 minutes with out crashing. Not to mention pay 150 CDN plus dollars just for an OEM copy when a new version of windows comes out. Linux = free and Mac = much much much less then windows. Chibix raises a good point if Windows is suppose to be so compatible why does windows not support linux apps? I wrote this to the windows user "freaks" It was made up of responses as I went through all the posts as i was installing windows XP SP2, at the end i would like to point out that all the things added to your computer with windows XP SP2 you already had with mac 10.0. I think microsoft was hopeing if they waited a really long time nobody would notice. Any ways Windows for Games and Mac/Linux for everything else.
By the way my friend who switched to linux says "Windows... the most expensive computer virus!"

Well, I have to say something. While windows is good and all for gaming, I find that Linux is by far better for my laptop, since I can get more than an hour from my battery, when with Windows on it, I only ever got an hour or less. Linux gives me well over an hour and thirty minutes of life, which is good for those long lectures in college. If you want MS Word, just use Cross Over OFfice - It works well, trust me, I used it with Linux Red Hat 8 before switchign over to Linspire (sued by Microsoft twice and still going strong, go Linspire!), and I find that its even better and hardly even need Word anymore. The only place you'll find Windows on any computers I own, excluding parents PC, is on my gaming machine, simply so I can play games. Otherwise, I have no reason to stay with Windows.
Again, Stability wise, Linux beats Windows - Ease wise, Linux can beat Windows at times, and vice versa, Customizabiity, Linux by far.
