Weariness In The Late Hours

Autism...

The hour is late, and my thoughts are polluted from a chat going on with Meryl, Michele, Lair, WindRidder, and Dean.

Anyway I want to say to the parents of Autistic children you have my deepest respect. With two 23 month old boys we know a little bit about toddlers and their antics. "NO" elicits a giggle, "STOP" means continue and then giggle, etc.

We can see the light at the end of the tunnel. Conversation and reasoning with our little men is (hopefully) in our future. The thought of entering a time warp of toddler-hood in Autism is frankly a scary prospect. Having seen our brother and sister-in-law raise Luke we know what they go through on a daily basis.

Patience, strength, being a champion for the needs of your child, the list goes on and on.

In case I haven't told you often enough Ian and Katie, you are amazing human beings. To the other parents I've meet through this effort, the same sentiments apply to you.

Tomorrow you will get up and give your child unconditional love which may or may not be returned. I'm sending mine to you, just in case.
