Largest seal hunt in 50 years

Canada sealers will have their largest seal cull in over the last fifty years. I'm not against harvesting protein (butchering livestock) of even going after furs. Sometimes I do think the process can be overly cruel and should change. What I really am afraid of is the slippery slope that will aid PETA and other animal activist organizations in their global agenda to make everyone vegetarian.
