Galloway Wants Heads To Roll

The British MP George Galloway, of whom documents found in Iraq indicated was on Saddam Hussien's payroll for over a decade, is calling for British voters to make politicians who supported the war pay at the polls. He claims in that no politicians have been held accountable for their conduct regarding the war, and heads need to roll.

He has a very short memory. His conduct got him tossed from the Labour Party.

Update: Tim Blair notes the obvious Nick Berg exception.

Galloway has WON a libel settlement against the Christian Science Monitor for that claim, see

Evidently it does not matter to you that lawmakers can be sacked on the basis of phony documents just so that phony leaders can fight their phony war on other people's blood. Galloway has more right than anyone to demand that heads should roll.

The CSM documents were forgeries, created by an Iraqi looking to cash in on the buzz from the initial find by the Telegraph. They were obtained after the Telegraph found legitamate documents. He has not sued or won a case against the Telegraph - because he would lose.

Wrong again. Galloway has issued a writ against the Telegraph, see

The case comes up in November. Maybe he will win, maybe he will lose. But to claim that he will lose, as you are doing, is the same as repeating the Telegraph's contested claims as fact, and quite likely making yourself party to the phony war.
