Al Gore is listening to the little voices in his head again. From his speech today:
The Administration works closely with a network of “rapid response” digital Brown Shirts who work to pressure reporters and their editors for “undermining support for our troops.”Then he goes on to defend Paul Krugman for his Bush bashing etc.
First we had the "Vast Right Wing Conspiracy" now we have "Digital Brown Shirts." I guess since a fair hunk of the blogosphere does reality checks on the media when they tilt too far to the left, that means us.
I want to be the first in the blogosphere to "out" myself. I'm a digital brown shirt and I'm proud.
In fact I'll do some 'brown shirting' right now...
I was appalled today to hear the founder of Operation A/C on the radio today talking about how she has been treated by the media.
In case you are not familiar with the organization, they have shipped over 3000 Air Conditioning units to our troops in Iraq. The temps can reach 140 degrees and Operation A/C uses private donations so send the guys window units. It is not some right wing task force, she is a G.I.'s mother just doing her part to help our troops.
The only media to interview her have been Rush Limbaugh, Michael Reagan and Fox News. All the other media outlets have refused to do a story on her efforts. They can tell us if Laci Peterson had the hiccups the morning she went missing, but they won't give any airtime to a nonprofit organization helping our troops.
So why do people like me write that the left wing media undermines the troops?
Because they do.
As the sooner morons like Gore figure it out, the better we'll all be.
UPDATE: Jessica's Well is working on a logo for Digital Brown Shirters everywhere. (below the fold)

Thanks, I agree on your take about Al Gore. All that time in the past election, there he was, hiding his *real personality.* I feel so used, so conned, that I voted for this nut.
Yes, Gore's a nut. As in, nut case. Crazy. Man on the mental.

See here is another area where I can agree with you in principal Paul. The Lady with the AC rocks, and it should not even be a political issue. Why do politics have to come into people simply wanting to do good. As for Gore. Never liked him, but not for the same reason as you. He had no balls when it counted. And as a result, he lost. Tough Luck.

Of course aLgore regrets inventing the Internet. The leftists worked very hard to dominate traditional media and they thought they had mind-control in the bag with their efforts there and the Klintonian administration. Then.. "ka-boom", came the Internet and a whole new medium emerged where citizens could discuss and seek information to support their own rationale.
And with that, I am extremely proud to have had the opportunity as an entrepreneur to bring Internet access to places in this nation that had no on-line access at all.

It's seems that me writing something about Al Gore has resurreced "adolph hitler" on his behalf. ~I wonder why.~

I would like to know more about your fine organization and also how I go about joining. I have the ability to print transfers and to put them on t-shirts, polo shirts, mouse pads, coasters, koozies, and even wall clocks, and for just the cost of materials and shipping I would be glad to help clothe this group.
As for AlGore, why don't we go to France, take it over, then put Gore, Clinton and her little b**ch of a husband, Kerry, Kennedy, Edwards and the rest over there to run that place in to the ground? Anyone volunteer to help them pack?
