Copy Cats

A California company is offering to clone your cat for $50,000. They have two cats already cloned (Tabouli and Baba Ganoush) and 5 more paid jobs in the queue. They're working on dog cloning as well and wait list for doggie clones. The BBC has the rest of the story.

Boy! I don't know about the wisdom of cloning pets since it's got to be unsettling to the many dedicated workers in animal shelters who are forced to kill hundreds of thousands of cats and dogs yearly because no one adopts them. In the eyes of animal rescuers, every time someone clones a pet, it means a death sentence for a kitten or puppy in the shelter.
